Carmine D'Amico -- the studio guitarists' studio guitarist. In the studio scene in NYC when things were really happenin' the phrase of praise was "every note's gotta five dollah bill around it" --- That's Carmine. Rock on! -johnnyguitar335
this clip, which appears on this site thanks to others, is actually from the film Let's Rock, 1958. If you are interested in seeing it Antenna TV is running it this week.
@theaznlvr ??? what the fuck ok for one what the fuck are you bitching about i just want to see peoples reactions and you being the stupid fucking cunt you are to stupid to leave a comment alone that you dont like so you decide to try and bitch and call names over the internet im not gonna argue with you because pathetic little fucks like you just have to try and make peoples lives misreable good bye and have fun with your sad little life douche
ok dude i get it youre the big freaking heavy metal guy trying to make a rep for yourself go for it cry to me all you want but remember ill give your mom a bone she never had so big LMAO
In 1959, my sister and I went to Dick Clark's Saturday Night Show in New York and saw the Royal Teens perform Short Shorts. They were terrific! There was and still is, nothing like 50's rock 'n' roll!
Geez - I saw this when it aired on American Bandstand. I believe that's Al Kooper on the piano. Don't know the girl. What an incredible beat this has.
@Froggey357 I stand corrected; I have since learned that Kooper joined the group later. And this has a really great beat, as does the follow-up, "Big Name Button." Are there any more like those? I haven't heard much else from this era by the RT's, although I liked "Believe Me" in 1960 (a whole different sound, of course)..
Great video! I'm a little confused, though. I think the performance is from the 1958 movie "Let's Rock", not American Bandstand. The short clip of a glum looking Julius LaRosa (who was in the movie) would lend credence to my idea.
umm the first time i saw this was in school cuz the girls are not allowed to were short shorts

Funny how there's one girl on stage but when she opens her mouth to sing about ten girls' voices come out.

Al Kooper, who later played the famous organ riff on "Like a Rolling Stone" played guitar for this group, but I don't think he is in this video..
