  • Carmine D'Amico -- the studio guitarists' studio guitarist. In the studio scene in NYC when things were really happenin' the phrase of praise was "every note's gotta five dollah bill around it" --- That's Carmine. Rock on! -johnnyguitar335

  • Funny how there's one girl on stage but when she opens her mouth to sing about ten girls' voices come out.

  • this clip, which appears on this site thanks to others, is actually from the film Let's Rock, 1958. If you are interested in seeing it Antenna TV is running it this week.

  • @ronhelf THANK YOU! I've been wondering what it was called... I too watched it on Antenna TV!

  • Great name for a band. Plenty of teens throughout history think of themselves as royalty.

  • My Dad Knows This Girl!

  • In 1959, my sister and I went to Dick Clark's Saturday Night Show in New York and saw the Royal Teens perform Short Shorts. They were terrific! There was and still is, nothing like 50's rock 'n' roll!

  • In 1959, my sister and I went to Dick Clark's Saturday Night Show in New York and saw the Royal Teens perform Short Shorts. They were terrific!

  • Why isn't there a credit for the girl??? Her name is Diana Costello.

  • Al Kooper, who later played the famous organ riff on "Like a Rolling Stone" played guitar for this group, but I don't think he is in this video..

  • I've seen shorter.

  • Great guitar!

  • who would put a dislike to this?? what's wrong with that person?

  • I think of Lavern and Shirley and Lenny and Squiggy in a Singing Group when I hear this song

  • I THOUGHT THAT THESES GUYS WERE AS CHEAP COPY OF THE BEATLES OR THE WHO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THE WOMEN BACK THEN FROM THE 50,S 60.S 70.S AND 80;S WERE MUCH BETTER THEN MOST OF TODAYS!! LOL

  • I am in love with a dark haired lady.

  • @gomezesmorticia LOL EVEN THOUGH SHE IS LIKE 90 RIGHT NOW LOL

  • Geez - I saw this when it aired on American Bandstand. I believe that's Al Kooper on the piano. Don't know the girl. What an incredible beat this has.

  • @countrypaul This is such a great song! But it surely is Bob Gaudio on the piano (he and Tom Austin actually composed this song)!!! :)

  • @Froggey357 I stand corrected; I have since learned that Kooper joined the group later. And this has a really great beat, as does the follow-up, "Big Name Button." Are there any more like those? I haven't heard much else from this era by the RT's, although I liked "Believe Me" in 1960 (a whole different sound, of course)..

  • @countrypaul I'm actually not sure... I'm more of a Four Seasons fan, myself :)

  • muy buena rola la conosco por los simpsons jajaja

  • Wonderful clip!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us! Remember this was way before Hot Pants happened in the 70's!!

  • @ChrisCurtisFan Thanks for the Share Cheri !!! :-))

  • @ChrisCurtisFan LOL, I can see Bob and Mark wearing short shorts!!

  • I heard this in burger king today. it was one of those epic songs you just needed to search up and listen.

  • Love the guitar solo. Who is the girl who appeared with them? Is she the same

same vocalist who performed on the record?

  • This is NOT from AB!!

  • the first ime i heard this was on the simpsons... lol.

    this song is so awesome!!!!!

  • @ladyvampire007 me too!!!!! :-D and i found it irresistible!!!

  • @ladyvampire007 . Yea the hotpants.

  • @ladyvampire007 idem! Great!

  • I saw them in concert 1958 Columbia,SC

  • @ftjax lucky bastard

  • Bob Gaudio, on piano before he joined the Four Seasons

  • such a nice video !

This song used by Japanese TV program TAMORI club opening intro.

  • Great video! I'm a little confused, though. I think the performance is from the 1958 movie "Let's Rock", not American Bandstand. The short clip of a glum looking Julius LaRosa (who was in the movie) would lend credence to my idea.

  • @sonofrest Yes. I saw this clip, or one similar, on the Alan Freed movie you mentioned.

  • Wow, I have no words. This is awesome

  • What an awesome guitar player at such a young age, Carmine! Love this clip!

  • Check out those un-hip white kids in the audience, clapping on the 1 & 3 beats instead of the 2 & 4.

  • Carmine. Yeah, love the choreography
