  • Nice video, which map do you used with your PC V?

  • Nice clip. 'Not much experience with the Nightsters & Irons. I like the (more) blacked out engine on the Iron vs. not having to put a 1200 bore kit in if I get a Nightster. I know the XL engines are basically the same on the outside - but do you know if the more-blacked-out lower engine case covers on the Iron bolt onto the Nightster?

  • good choice on the chrome version short shots. The bike is pretty black and a little bit of chrom looks great. would you say you've gotten a bit more pull from start with these pipes? i find my iron a bit sluggish on pull away so wondering if this will give it a bit more oomph on start..

  • nice!!! xp that's my dream bike and dream car in the back xp realy nice!

  • love it

  • @2R0bin0 Thanks!

  • I'll look forward to a new Vid soon then?

  • Just a question: If i custom order a HD should i get the dual pipes that you can get through HD? They dont look as good as yours in fact the stock headers(chrome) go past the foot peegs and then you attach the duals (black) so half the pipes are chrome the other half black what can be done about that?

  • @samhobson30 You can get black heat shields from H-D for the headers. I personally would shop around and find pipes you really like. You will likely pay less than the stealer would charge you. If you’re getting forward controls (or highway pegs), you should look where they route because pipes get really hot.

  • @77WYSIWYG80 Thanks for the tips, im a virgin when it comes to harley tech knowlege. the last motorcycle i had was a dirt bike in the 1980's ......

  • Nice Bike! Sounds awesome for a little 883! I think I might have to invest... I've had 'Sports' bikes, but to be honest, I can't see the point in 'em any more... I loved Buell Lightnings 'til Harley pulled the plug - Boo!

  • @cloggsy1971 Thanks, I need to upload a more current video. Sound even better with the custom air cleaner I installed.

  • short-shots in Chrome on a black iron .... looks nice, it is different

  • @CaracasVtwin Thanks!

  • Hey Bro, did you change the factory air filter and do the dyno tune when you changed the pipes?

I'm looking to do a pipe job on my Iron and the V&H shorts, but was wondering if it would run too lean without changing the air cleaner and tuner.

  • @ThePaleHorseman5 I installed the Pipes and PowerCommander V at the same time.

  • e46 m3 convertible and a bad ass harley. thats whats in my dream garage.

  • Norskyver, if it's performance you're after buy a Ducati 1198. Only weighs 375 lbs but puts out 170hp, that's about 3 times the power/weight ration that you get on a 1200..............personally I love the look of the Iron in black, if they did a 1200 version I'd get that one.....but they don't.

  • Have a look at the 2010 Sportster Fourty-Eight

  • Yeah, I like the Fourty -Eight, unfortunately it's not clear whether it will be sold in Australia yet :-(

For now I'm going to get my iron converted to 1200cc, get the heads flowed and get it re-cammed......... :-)

  • nice looking bike i woulda prefered the black model for the exhaust ! looks more "bad ass" ;)

Gret bike you have anyway !

  • To each his own. Thanks!

  • Black is cool!!!!

  • Great bike, looks good

  • 1:05 Mmmmm...

  • how is the power on the 883? I have been looking at the 1200

  • It gets me from 0MPH to 105MPH as quick as i want to get there. I just ordered a round air cleaner from NRHS so that will probably change things a little. I have a friend that has a Nightster and he says they are close. According to him the Nightster has a little bit more torque.

  • The difference between a 1200 and 883 is ridiculous. It's like 20HP which is fast as shit for a bike weighing a mere 550 lbs. A 1200 would KILL an 883. Invest in the Nightster, hands down.

  • @Katjump - I'm 6"1'/184cm and 140lbs/64kg soaking wet, so I'm pretty skinny. I can tell you fist hand a 1200 is a better choice if you like hiway driving you'll grow out of a 883 pretty quick. Course I dive like a idiot so I don't have mine on the road anymore I'm reduced to driving under 550cc for a two years. Thats something to think about also. ;)

  • Thanks man,

Yeah I am going to go for highway stability I think, so a 1200 seems better for me.

  • m3 + HD = Sex on wheels :)

love the bike man ,,,,hope to get one next year

  • Thanks!

  • Nice bike. The convertible M3 isn't' bad either :-)

  • Thanks, sometimes it is a dilemma on weather to ride or drive to work.

  • gotta love this bike! I have an 06 883r! and love it! but when yours came out i think it looks better then the nightster! congradulations! great bike!!!

  • did you install the Power Commander V yourself?

  • A friend helped. it was easy!

  • Awesome machine...greets from Holland

  • Thanks!

  • I love the blacked out V&H but these ones you got are eye catching, sound great overall.

Hope to have my bike with V&H by end of year...

  • Thanks, that's why i got the chrome ones. I like the black ones too but wanted to be different.

  • Lovely 'matte' paintwork.

  • yea, HD knew what they were doing with this one!

  • Nice chrome VH pipes. They really pop out with the blacked out Iron.

  • Thanks!

  • Edit the audio out of this, you sound like you're beating off at the beginning of this clip. If you want to do the pipes justice you will get an external MIC for your camera with a wind screen so the audio doesn't "Clip".

  • Yea, I noticed that. The point and shoot camera I'm using really doesn't give you the "full" sound.
