I can't edit any of my beat markers because it keeps editing my tempo? How do I fix this? I would also love to know how to make it so my tempo doesn't need to be changed all the time, very frustrating, especially since the help doesn't offer much guide to do this.
Newb question, it beat maps for me automatically which as we all know is very nice of ableton but seldom works out. How can I turn that option on and off at my command?
I have everything down except the warp!!! When you re-do the markers, how do you know where to put them???? I want to match tracks and its only showing me ONE track... how do you do both??? or match samples/acapella?????
I suppose you can do that however, try and buy a cd burner for a mac without paying $75 more for no reason, the same burner can be bought for a pc for $15, or you can just go with linux.
In general, the os makes up for the lack of specs. I have found that this machine is reliable, fast, easy and i dont give a shit whats in it if it does that. Im a little tipsy rght now if you know what i mean.
when i try to beat map an acapella file it shows up differently? any help? when i try to move the beat marker it can only move yellow ones and the others look like a bar above the wav file and wont move.
A compressor on the master channel may help you, but make sure you have the levels pretty decent. Also, do'nt be scared to turn down the master volume so it doesn't go into the red.
does anyone know if this warping technique can be used for simple re-editing of mp3s? i use serato when performing live and would like to import my re-edits into that program. any ideas?
it is reliable enough if the sample/trask in qustion is an elecctronic song that has 98-99percent quintise acuracy (most new tracks do) u only need to change warp mode if the sample/trask is out of is a humanised song ie has been recorded live without the aid of a metronome...
the straight warping method is not reliable enough. I recommend adjusting each warp marker every 32 beats, or in other words every 8 warp markers (i.e. 1,9,17,25,etc.) to ensure that the markers are properly aligned with each beat. Furthmore, I highlight the warp markers mentioned above, and then right click and select "warp from here". The songs that I have manually warped using this method are spot on.
HI Im confused....I notice other, manual warping beat mapping/DJ tutorials, show other warp markers higlighted. but I noticed on your tutorial the only marker that is higlighted is the first one. ???? I'm confused. How do you "lock" in the beat in to LIVES Master tempo , if you are not setting warp markers through the track where the beats go out of sync???
haHA! Jolly good show. I have just aquired a copy of live 6 and have finally got my ass round to learning it. Was in the middle of trying to beatmap a track - i was pissed off! This really helped. Bravo, good sir. Bravo indeed.
Excellent, but I do have a criticism. It's really difficult to understand the narrator when a song with vocals is played during the demonstration. I would stick to instrumentals or tracks with minimal vocals. Still, Ableton's videos stomp the competition.
Excellent video, however sometimes I load a clip into an audio track the waveform data does not appear at the bottom of the Ableton Live screen. Anyone know why? I tried double-clicking the clip, still nothing.

left click on pc= control click on mac.... and macs are much better for producing music (in my opinion), so dont hate!

macs are better for ANYTHING BUT gaming.
i think macs should be called PC's

what? Ableton is a software package and runs on both Mac and PC, doesn't matter whether you use Mac or PC...... you need to have Ableton Live

I'm doing a mix cd with Ableton and i see that although some of the tracks are at -0.6 Db, the master output level is in the red.
I want the whole mix to sound level from start to finish.
Do i need a compressor or somthing?
Help anyone?
DJSHAHIR 3 years ago
the master output is red cause of effects in either the tracks or the master track. try putting compressor II's limiter on the master

i realy recomand that easy to synch
1 get audiot rack and a simple midi track (kick +snare)
2. start warp from 0 first beat and every 8 warp it
match every warp loop to the midi that allways synch with the computer time / beat
3. change the track from beats to complex !!
4. its longer but worth it if you want to focus on your mixing effecting
