@holyherpreet Sorry about the late reply! I was using a tablet to be this precise, however this is an old old video. If you are using CS5 you can use the quick selection tool, then use smart radius to refine the edge.

It's like ten million times easier now with CS5, that version of photoshop practically put me out of a job LOL

@theaterhobo Copy all layers, paste onto a new layer - gaussian blur slightly, erase everything but the skin. Gives it a nice soft glow...

The scar is merely there to demonstrate that she had been redeemed after a dark past. I'm the least emo person you'll meet :)

Just photoshop and a toooon of practice. You have to use the lasso tool (I prefer the magnetic lasso...or the other one...I thiink it's the polygonal lasso, but I can't exactly remember) then you have to use curves and such to edit lighting and blahh blahh blahh.....=P

errmmmm..... you know photoshop has paths right? no need for all that erasing

one - this is pretty old.

two - it's gonna takes a lot more time to use paths for shading out fine points like hair strands. It's better to use a tablet and a mask to erase the BG. Paths are only really useful (time wise) if you have a single solid object.

Are you using a mouse? It is very difficult that way, if you can afford it a tablet is a good investment. You can buy one at wacom[dot]com :) Some are expensive though - try Bamboo , theyre awesome and cheap...

Otherwise, you could also try the marqee selection tool...

Yeah they got it in one, I use the eraser (I have a tablet) however, this is an old video and I don't recomend that technique. Please use a layer mask instead, that way if you make a mistake you can restore it.

I'm a professional artist, and I can say you have no clue what your talking about. If you notice the tittle says "Photomanipulation". Do you understand what that means? Also your claiming "google images" have you ever heard of stock photos? It does take alot of skill do such things, and its now a required class in major and most art schools. Matte Paintings consist of alot of photomanipulation.
