I performed this song yesterday in front of a huge crowd and they really loved it everybody was like clapin and you could see they loved the rythim made by me and my bass ! FUCK YEAH!
to *finally* respond to @GowanBray, try it on the keyboard, black keys for the main riff. I understand Stevie did almost all the tracks on many of his songs, drums included. It may be easier for horns to play in that key, but I think the hook was inspired by that Eb black keys groove. Same thing with Higher Ground.
@frvrundead216 - All I can say is those of that respect the "actual good music" don't have the time to be on here like the young people that don't even know what the good music is -- generally of course -- I have actually seen a few exceptions to this (young people on here) that are really inot stuff made well before they were born. That's nice to see, some young people gettin it.
@Juledass95 PMA dude its only difficult if you keep thinking it is. It's not out of reach, keep practicing and knock 'em dead wit dat funk. Let us know how it went.
@Garrotte123 i will :D unfortunately im not home this weekend, so ii cant practice this weekend så ill have to practice the whole sunday and a littlebit on monday, i have actually mastered the song by this week, i have practice all the time. the hard part is at 0:50 ! man my fingers is fucked up after that part but ill hope my performance will be awezome!
lyckily im not playin alone, its actually a band performance so if i screw up it isnt that bad.. but u guys will hear from me at monday. :D
This is what music is all about. An artist who is able to make catchy songs by using his or her voice alone, and not having his or her's voice drowned out by the overuse of autotune or synthesizers
@LoyalFreak4ever wonder how old you are? Wonder how anyone couldn't have heard his music before! HA! Wonder what it would be like to hear this voice for the first time again! Good luck on your project!
I chose to do Stevie Wonders for my famous blind person project. I hadn't heard his music befor so I looked him up. This is what I found & I loved it!
@2caboca You've earned my respect... It's all too easy to trace links to classics from the music of today, not so much from songs composed only a few years after... know both songs, but had not heard Gabriels' for a lot of years, so I never compared it to Steves'... but now I definetly find something in common. Very good hear!!!
If one person can listen to this without as much as a foot tap going on then I will have officially given up on the human race, bah e'nuff typin' i gots ta get ma groove on
WTF happened to music.... Back then it was all great.. now it sucks... Dubstep??? serious i could make that myself. give me a mic ad ill put it next to my ass next time i take a dump. im a 95' kid. and i think music has lost its meaning now.
@SovietTricycle no. i'm a '95 kid as well. music today does have meaning, well most of it. you just have to look alot harder now. some of it's right there on the surface, like coldplay and mumford and sons, but all the good stuff is at the bottom of the barrel, like london elektricity and stuff like this that has fallen out of popularity over time. So I disagree that today's music is meaningless. just a personal opinion. feel free to ad lib the bands I suggested. they are just my preferences.
Why's there always so much talk about the dislikes? Just keep on liking it yourself. Those dislikers aren't holding you back. Everybody has different tastes.
Are you sure? I thought it was the Alan Parson's Project. I mean, watch?v=TgJA7lPkb1o from about 1:33 and on. It is similar, actually the same notes of the "riff" in a different timing / sequence.
