The team Young is playing in clip 4:31 is North Shore HS. They had QB-Bobby Reid (the QB that Oklahoma State Head Coach Gundy gave the "I'm a man.. I'm 40!" speech in reference to). 2 years later, in 2003, that same HS team would win the State Title. Many people believe the 2003 North Shore team is the greatest Texas HSFB team of All-Time. If I'm correct, that team surrendered 89 pts in 15 games. Only 1 team scored more than 7 pts vs them.
i know the team they lost but i can't remember but they lost cause of the other running back (rogers) he had a td but got lazy and went out of bounce...then vince fumble the snap on the next play and lost the fumble and lost the game with it

That year, it was all about Reggie McNeal, who played at Lufkin, and Young meeting up for probably the greatest State Title game ever. Unfortunately, Madison lost to Westlake in the Semi-Final... and Westlake lost the next week vs Lufkin and Reggie McNeal. Vince Young and Reggie McNeal were both thought to be the best QB's in Texas, that year (2001). Too bad they didn't meet in the Title game.
I don't think people realize that the majority of these games are in the playoffs. North Shore is the red team with the Mustang on the helmet, Katy the red team with the Tiger on their helmet. I believe Austin Westlake is in there too. All 3 of these teams are perennial powerhouses in Texas, and you can usually catch North Shore and Katy in the top 20 Nationally. Oh and for all of you who didn't know, Katy got destroyed by Vincent and Madison that year. Madison later lost a very close game to a very good Austin Westlake team, who went on to lose to Reggie McNeal and Lufkin the next round in the state championship

I played against VY my senior year. We(Aldine) beat them the first game of the season. Of course Vincent was only a junior then, but he was a monster. We escaped 30-27. The next year, which was his senior year, he destroyed Aldine. As I recalled he didn't even play the whole second half. the score was 49-14 at the half.

This MAN among BOYS did a fake reverse which was shut stopped on the dime, with two defenders right there in his face, gets grabbed by one defender who tries to tackle him he SOMEHOW, spins out of the tackle!!! Gets away running for the first and goes out of bounds to avoid the hit jumps over the Army banner where the crowd is in the bleachers witnessing THE TEXAS LEGEND do his thing. He jumps over and COMMANDS the crowd to GET UP!!

madison has always been one of the great football schools in the greater houston area that year was one of the best years in high school football. i love the way he beat up on the fortbend hightower hurricans and galena park northshore mustangs. i just wish that madison would have beat those katy tigers in the state championship. also to autographhound2468 the astrodome is were the houston area high school games are played.

The team Young is playing in clip 4:31 is North Shore HS. They had QB-Bobby Reid (the QB that Oklahoma State Head Coach Gundy gave the "I'm a man.. I'm 40!" speech in reference to). 2 years later, in 2003, that same HS team would win the State Title. Many people believe the 2003 North Shore team is the greatest Texas HSFB team of All-Time. If I'm correct, that team surrendered 89 pts in 15 games. Only 1 team scored more than 7 pts vs them.

i know the team they lost but i can't remember but they lost cause of the other running back (rogers) he had a td but got lazy and went out of bounce...then vince fumble the snap on the next play and lost the fumble and lost the game with it

Vince Young, Courtney Leiws and Madison HS lost to Austin Westlake. That year, it was all about Reggie McNeal, who played at Lufkin, and Young meeting up for probably the greatest State Title game ever. Unfortunately, Madison lost to Westlake in the Semi-Final... and Westlake lost the next week vs Lufkin and Reggie McNeal. Vince Young and Reggie McNeal were both thought to be the best QB's in Texas, that year (2001). Too bad they didn't meet in the Title game.

I don't think people realize that the majority of these games are in the playoffs. North Shore is the red team with the Mustang on the helmet, Katy the red team with the Tiger on their helmet. I believe Austin Westlake is in there too. All 3 of these teams are perennial powerhouses in Texas, and you can usually catch North Shore and Katy in the top 20 Nationally. V.Y. sh!t on all of them for a year.

Yeah, all of his receivers were the TRUTH.. I played basketball with Vince in HS and his WR's his JR and SR years were damn good. Tyson Davis, Joey Dancy, Daniel Smith, and Bennie Swain, they TORCHED defenses that year. Not to mention former Texas A&M RB Courtney Lewis line up @ WR in certain formations... That was the greatest offense ever assembled in Texas HS history..
