Hi Sri Old and Wise. Did you hear the nadaswaram In Ramana Maharshi meditative journey video? It is beautiful .But I don't know who performed it. BTW I am the one who commented on the classical music on your pudina chutney preparation. How are you?
hi pratya, muralidhar and ( now ) prajna8 ! how are u doing ? no, i haven't heard /seen that video, but since you rate it high, i will make efforts to view it ... and did you finally get your pudina chutney right ? ( didn't miss the dissection of my user id.. yes, am definately older and wiser than the day i was born ! ) cheers ! :-)
Hi Oldernwiser, I was actually referring to the 2nd part of Sri Ramana's meditative journey in the beginning of the video. The nadaswaram is only there for a short while. I made tthe pudina chutney but it did not come out well since I am not a good cook.. I bet you are a great cook. Take care.
Thank you for capturing the immediacy and energy of these musical moments. Nice camera work! I applaud your imagination and courage (I'm too shy) in moving about to get different views of these artists, and to see these remarkable instruments up close. A successful first video with your handicam. What was the occasion of the music?
thank you dadasopher for your very encouraging comments, ( actually i was very scared to post this video because i was not sure whether it was ok ) .. the occasion was the marriage ceremony of my neice performed some time ago
i really wish i had learnt at least one musical instrument, but haven't though i did try guitar ( actually made an electric one way back in 1966 ), but making a rocket doesnt make one an astronaut ! the nadaswaram and the thavil are taught only by gurus in the traditional way and these people devote their entire lives to learning to play them ..they are very loud instruments ..and all the nadaswaram players have huge chests ( you would have noticed ) developed over the years.. :-)
Awesome!!!

Thanks, I was wondering the same thing. Do you know how to play any instruments? :)
I play drums, and guitar. I love how he plays the Thavil. Wish I could get one in Canada. Or, maybe a Nadaswaram. I'm sure I could somewhere.
Lovely music.
Thanks a lot for uploading the video

funny how we often hesitate over posting good work - especially when it's different from what we've done before! i like your camera eye.
