If we would just model the European health plan we would save 1 Trillion Dollars a year. Thats 1 Trillion!!!
Govt. managed HC plan in Britain led expansion of their system such that it is now the 3rd largset employer (after Chinese army and Indian Railways). Any talk about change to remove inefficiencies leads to talks about loss of livelihood/jobs. I DONT want to link quality of HC with loss of livehood. Obama clearly mentioned that he either will introduce new taxes or get the money from other avenues for any universal plan. Americans pay enough in taxes, how an added tax can help?

With that we get 2.6 doctors & 3.3 hospital beds per 1,000 people, and we live to an avg. age of 78.2 As a whole Europe spends 9.6% of GDP on health care, has 3.9 doctors & 6.6 hospital beds per 1,000 people and live until they are 81.15 old. If we would just model the European health plan we would save 1 Trillion Dollars a year. Thats 1 Trillion!!!

Govt. managed HC plan in Britain led expansion of their system such that it is now the 3rd largset employer (after Chinese army and Indian Railways). Any talk about change to remove inefficiencies leads to talks about loss of livelihood/jobs. I DONT want to link quality of HC with loss of livehood. Look, the government is not trying to take over the health care industry. Introducing a public option does not mean that everything will fall into the state's hands. The state could not afford it anway.
With regards to your other points: the government had to chip in, otherwise hundreds of thousands of jobs would have been lost.
The term "big government" is an abstraction that explains nothing. You have to look at each indiviudal case to see if government intervention is necessary.

Nazis chased down socialists and killed them in concentration camps. Read a book, or if you can't read go watch the history channel at least. Be informed and don't just go out there repeating every catch phrase that you hear. Debates over semantics get nowhere, it's like running in cycles, there's no valid argument because there's always the going back to "but this word is this...." so if you're interested in information do your own research, don't just repeat what others keep saying.
