  • Dare! and Lexicon of Love were two of the best albums of the 80's which I can still listen to in their entirety and enjoy them as much as I did now as when they were new

  • it's good to have musical influences but at the same time you need to have the courage of your own convictions even if that means you're outside the accepted normality

  • England has always set trends for music and fashion, not to say americans cant make good music, cause there are some great bands out there, but both british and american pop is shit, its just pop that isnt good anymore.

  • zo dit is oud

  • Best intro ever. Synth-tastic!

  • best pop song ever nade, thats just me though....

  • Pure synthasizing goodness

  • @thebedlingtonterrier TRY NOT TO LOOK IN A MIRROR OR HOP ON A SCALE !

  • seen nearly everyone there is to see.i.e floyd n that.but watching these live at a free gig in stockton England was truelly magnificent.never lost it.

  • the reason I bought a synthesizer....

  • Phil was really hot

  • @0:12 - the guy in the front row on the left wearing a carnation in his lapel is me!

  • @stevemarron Aww,lucky you!

  • This the greatest music for dance and...........love action

  • Class !

  • you don't get more 80s than this

  • I loved the 80s music it was an escape from home and all the things that were going on then shame music is not as good now.

  • 1. Search youtube JockTalk: Track 8.5.0.5

    2. Lock your house doors

    3. Get your synth out of the attic

    4. Bring back the 80s

  • I remember when I saw these live in 2008, AMAZING GIG! Was deffo worth the money! :D

  • dam 240p

  • Listen to this album then listen to that "last" the Streets album. Its like deja vu. Its also pretty influential in new alternative hip-hop, such as Das Racist and El P who sample the crap out of it and mimic it's beats.

  • Damn, the 80's were a blast! However, now in my mid 40's, still at 6' 165#, still healthy, successful, and having a hell of a lot more money, is better! ; )

Congratulations to all of us who survived a decade where some wonderful and creative people died, but live on through this music we ow share with our kids!

  • Glad I am going to see them next Thursday! Can hardly wait! Miss the 80s.

  • Still fuckin amazing.

  • another great song from a great decade

  • Opitimises the 80's to me......this kinda sound!!

I was a teen in this decade so this was one of my jams xx

  • And another thing. Jo Catherall would still get it.

  • "...but this is Phil talking, I wanna tell you, what I've found to be true....I love your love action...' Genius. Preach on, brother Oakey The League = 80s glamour meets Sheffield chippy. Love it

  • I'm an Anglo-Aussie and fiercely proud of my heritage but my favourite bands are mostly US bands. Tool, Pixies, NIN, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Faith No More to name a few. Dean Martin is one of my favourite crooners, too! Go figure, as you guys say! =)

That said, Dare was one of my favourite albums when it came out and I still get a kick out of listening to it now and then.

  • i love being a child of the 80's, but he was so hot back then.

  • I WANT A SYNTHASIZER! :( so not fair!

  • @NewRomanticx I have one.

  • I'm British and the music I make is absolute dog shit,

  • I'm American and 24 and I love this to death :)

  • I listened to one of my dads old records, which was of The Human League, and I was surprised that I could actually listen to all of the songs without skipping a single one ^^ listening to old records is so chill

  • DARE was the most influential albums of the decade along with penthouse and pavements .

  • I had not listened to this song since my "yoof" in the 80's. Then I recently played it to my 2 little daughters and now they insist on listening to it every day as they love the "meeow meeow meeow" at the beginning.

  • What's even going on in this video? It's hard to piece the scenes together.

  • @drdos4 it was the 80's you plonker rodney.you're not SUPPOSED to understand the mental videos and ridiculous clothes, great decade for music, tragic for clobber.(and hair)

  • God HE IS SOOOOOOO SEXY

  • HILARIOUS !!! this people do not beat well of the head! but it was the customs of the time ~~

  • love action

  • @danepashby hello

  • yes....i'm an anglophile....this song is just beautiful

  • growing up i sued to assume great music was always from the usa, michael jackson is a great example. but bands such as human league, go west, spandau ballet, etc, all uk, all great

  • Seriously!

The Human League, The Outfield, Queen, Gorillaz, etc. etc...

    All British. ALL F*CKING AMAZING.

Okay guys, what's your secret to making amazing music? America is drowning here. :/

  • @Devourthebook15 Damn straight, I'm suprised you said The Outfield haha. There are plenty of others. Keep in mind Blur was before Gorillaz. AKA Damon Albarn

  • @RockoJulian I'm aware (Damon is my hero...) I only listed bands that I listen to regularly. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to check out Blur, but Gorillaz is my obsession~

  • @Devourthebook15 Lots of History, and a certain Eddie Izzard "We're Up to HERE IN CASTLES!"

  • @Devourthebook15 Well, they did have a 2k+ year head start.

  • @Devourthebook15

80's music was very quirky, and so are the British- A perfect fit, really :)

  • @Devourthebook15 we live on a small overcrowded shitty little island where lots of things really piss us off..but instead of going down the shopping mall or local high school with automatic weapons and killing everything in sight we tend to vent our anger in a more constructive way and write great music.

  • @eddietwang hahahaha, spot on mate.we are a straight to the fuckin point kinda island race.we took americas great music, polished it,added extra grit,a few spoonfuls of anger,a bit of edge, and sold it back to them.from the beatles to radiohead and coldplay and everything in between,i think its our greatest asset and our biggest cultural export.

  • @Devourthebook15 I wouldn't put Gorillaz in that list..

  • @housemonzter Um... I REALLY do not see why not. Besides the fact that their music is brilliant, catchy, mindbogglingly beautiful, and has been recognized world wide for just that, the creators of the band are extremely innovative and created things that no one had ever seen before. Their rightful place is on that list.

  • Killer, killer song. Heard it this morning at Taco John's of all places and I've been listening to it non-stop on Youtube all day! Good thing I was jonesing for a breakfast burrito today or I would have gone on unaware of this jewel!

  • love 80's music

  • Lord Please, Send Me back to the 80', I'm dying in this era of 2011, God , Have Mercy of me please LORD

  • Cut Copy brought me here.

  • Even kids are sick of the 2000's, sick of thier own musical culture must be bad.Ok kids if you read this its up to you lot vote with your heads n hearts and renounce manufactured tripe and sissy boy bands and 'I LOVE ME' SINGERS UP THIER OWN ARSE WHO CANT EVEN WRITE MUSIC OR SING FOR THAT MATTER .....RANT OVER

  • As fresh as when released - Timeless!

  • The fact that this video has over 1 000 000 views, and 2 204 'likes' over '56' dislikes,

illustrates in a way why I dislike most people on youtube.

  • Door fail at 1:51

  • @spikeman14

maybe the 'door fail' is symbolic. maybe it means she didn't want to close the door on him , she was simply angry at his 'love action'. maybe the guys who wak into the door after that (that he sees) encourage him to realise what he might have lost. she might not have intended the guys to walk in (again symbolic) but she might think that that's a good thing..to get his attention focused back on her. no one knows, but what we all know is there's is such a thing as 'love action'.

  • Wow, 30 years old this month. One of brit synthpop's finest.

    Planet Earth.

  • Go on Phil...Sheffield's finest!!!!!!

  • @newboldowl Stuff like this makes me even more envious of the Brits as a Dane. I mean, we will always be in the shadow of you guys and the Swedes when it comes to music... I mean, what did we give the world? Fecking Aqua...

  • Heard this on SKINS!!! Love it :)

  • Catchy, gorgeous sounds, playful. So good!

  • One of my favourite songs and groups from a time when music was much better - why else would a great many radio stations in N. America revert to going 80s - 90s and onward for their material. Awesome tune....it has me reminicing back to the 80s and early 90s just listening to this, here, now.

  • i'm not british, but i agree the brits have always made the best music

  • @joostisabelle same here

  • @joostisabelle I agree that British rock/pop is the best as the British music system nurtures talent whereas the American system nurtures stardom.

  • @joostisabelle I am british and I believe you

  • GTA VCS. i always related this song to icarly seddie freddie and sam love action someone should make a video

  • @jman4208 i agree!

  • Fans of 80's electro/synth/new wave should check out 'electro kill machine'. New band with authentic 80's electro sound.

From same town as Depeche Mode, Yazoo...Playing Camden on 25th June 2011. I saw them last month and now hooked!

  • I wish more of the song was like 2:13. But this is cool too.
