@stihlman44 i didnt use any flex pipe, all the pieces where cut to angles, also the pipes where routed thru the drivers side of the truck becuase of the location of the gas tank

ever hear of back pressure? 6 inch stacks is going to cause you to have none .. run a 3 inch pipe up them for your exhaust then the big 6 inch stack on the outside for looks if u wanna do that...
@leafsrule16 I will disagree with you on the backpressure. I have dual 6inch aussie cit stack's on my 08 silverado. It goes from the standard pipe then transitions to a 4inch-5inch in the bed and 6inch for the stack's. No back pressure loss. The truck gained from cutting out that bulky suffocating stock muffler. The truck tow's better and has faster pickup.
I'm not stopping him. He can put a spoiler on it if he wants. In my opinion however stacks belong on a diesel. I am jealous of his truck tho since I sold my dodge and am currently riding my bike to work. FML

Cool. I've got a 1990 Stepside 2x4 I'm lifting. Going with a 4" suspension & 2" body lift with 35's. Was going to put stacks behind the cab on the outside of the bed, but the gas cap was in the way. Didn't want to cut holes in my bed, so I went with a 3 1/2" Flowmaster 40 dual system. Sounds great, but doesn't have the "in your face" effect your's does. Well done, and keep us posted.

Stacks on Gas trucks were being put on lone before dieseil pickup's. This dates back to the 1940's with ford, dodge& chevy for trucks being used by farmer's& other type field work so the fields would not be set ablaze. in the 50's international harvester was putting them on there truck's as well. I don't know why this would piss you off. You and diesel truck owner's did not start the stack craze, nor were they invented by diesel truck guy's. I have 6 inch stacks on on my 5.3 v-8 silverado.
@rollerstud. Actually it doesn't look foolish. I guess it all depends on what style stack you get. I had 6 inch straight cut stacks, and I didn't like how they looked, plus they rattled my roof when I would put it too the floor. So, I took em off and got the aussie cut stack's. They look good, and sond real good. Gives my exhaust a nice chunk to it. I took a long time decideing what size stack to get, and everyone has 5 inch stacks by me, so I opted for something different.
I figured, what is the worse that could happen? I could trade em back for 5 inch stack's. turned out the gamble worked. I have had quite a few people pull up next to me and ask if I repowerd the truck with a cummins'. What kind of truck do you have, if you don't mind me asking, and what style stack?

I don't know too much about the 6.0's. I do know some guys had some early teetheing problems with them when they first came out. Then again, all new stuff has teething problems. Duramax's had some problems when they first came out as well. I would love a duramax, but I love the vortec's. Never went wrong with em yet. When I worked at uhaul once upon a time, all the diesel's they had were the 7.3's. You could beat the fuck out of those engines, and they would just keep on running..

I will agree with you on the sound.. Too loud& too much popping.. As for diesel only, no way. I have an 08 silverado with dual 6inch stacks with internal muffler's.. It look's& sounds good. Has a deep rumble to it& it doesnt pop& backfire when you rev it. I bought a kit from grandrock's& when you buy the righ set up, it works. Custom makeing it yourself for a gas truck doesnt.. surprisingly all thumbs up from cummins, powerstroke& dmax driver's.. Not often you see it done right on a gas truck.

When it begins to annoy your neighbors because they can hear a 1/2 mile away, that shows a lot of disrespect. A confident man does not have to have excessively loud exhaust to prove he's a man. Cool. I've got a 1990 Stepside 2x4 I'm lifting. Going with a 4" suspension & 2" body lift with 35's. Was going to put stacks behind the cab on the outside of the bed, but the gas cap was in the way. Didn't want to cut holes in my bed, so I went with a 3 1/2" Flowmaster 40 dual system. Sounds great, but doesn't have the "in your face" effect your's does. Well done, and keep us posted.

Stacks on Gas trucks were being put on lone before dieseil pickup's. This dates back to the 1940's with ford, dodge& chevy for trucks being used by farmer's& other type field work so the fields would not be set ablaze. in the 50's international harvester was putting them on there truck's as well. I don't know why this would piss you off. You and diesel truck owner's did not start the stack craze, nor were they invented by diesel truck guy's. I have 6 inch stacks on on my 5.3 v-8 silverado.

@rollerstud. Actually it doesn't look foolish. I guess it all depends on what style stack you get. I had 6 inch straight cut stacks, and I didn't like how they looked, plus they rattled my roof when I would put it too the floor. So, I took em off and got the aussie cut stack's. They look good, and sond real good. Gives my exhaust a nice chunk to it. I took a long time decideing what size stack to get, and everyone has 5 inch stacks by me, so I opted for something different.

I don't know too much about the 6.0's. I do know some guys had some early teetheing problems with them when they first came out. Then again, all new stuff has teething problems. Duramax's had some problems when they first came out as well. I would love a duramax, but I love the vortec's. Never went wrong with em yet. When I worked at uhaul once upon a time, all the diesel's they had were the 7.3's. You could beat the fuck out of those engines, and they would just keep on running..

I will agree with you on the sound.. Too loud& too much popping.. As for diesel only, no way. I have an 08 silverado with dual 6inch stacks with internal muffler's.. It look's& sounds good. Has a deep rumble to it& it doesnt pop& backfire when you rev it. I bought a kit from grandrock's& when you buy the righ set up, it works. Custom makeing it yourself for a gas truck doesnt.. surprisingly all thumbs up from cummins, powerstroke& dmax driver's.. Not often you see it done right on a gas truck.
