I feel you. as I began watching this video thought ran across my mind "she hasn't died--has she?" I think its the song mixed with the slo mo and stills.

However, this is a really nice song by her and surprisingly I have never heard it before.

Her voice sounds REALLY good and well trained.

Its a shame she was never passionate about singing and never made a true effort to achieve solo success.

Why do people give credit to prince for sheila's success? the only thing he did was write the song to the Glamourous life". she did everything else to that song to make it a success. people think prince discover her as if she was from the projects or something. she was in the music business as long as he was and in the beginning before the purple rain tour he couldn't afford her because she was that good and demanded what she was worth. and by the way..sheila was director for his concerts.

I feel Prince pushed her more, gave her confidence. She and her whole band, heck, most of the protege's and musician peers Prince had around him at the time adapted a lot from him but made it their own. Everything from of course, the looks, the music, but the stage presence, the stage commanding and body-language. Even the sort of Prince way of slang!

Yep, he did - he gave Sheila co-writter credit but the reality of it is - he wrote it solo. Just like he gave all his groups co-writer cred to make them more credible to the public but he did it all solo. He wrote Nasty Girl solo - but gave Vanity the credit.

And a lot of songs he wrote under assumed names. Like Alexander Nevermind, Joey Coco, Jamie Starr, and Camille - they were all names he used when writing for people.
