  • I meet Don a couple of times at some carnival conventions. Love his work.

  • Do you know Don STinson and his work?? In particular the JerryBetts66 organ? I was Jerry's neighbor for years and he always spoke so kindly of Don Stinson and all the work he did on carousel band organs, so, I know a lot of work goes into rehabing those wonderful old pieces of art

  • Thank You.

  • People have no respect for the hard work that went into making both the band organ & even the player roll, if it doesn't sound like a muted mp3 or CD, people will complain about the tuning. Sheesh. Thanks for sharing your works in porgress & the 'finished' tunes too.

  • @kerry5101971 I meant progress... now time for bed.

  • This is the coolest thing i've ever seen.

  • Are you "in the mood" for the North tonawnada band organ?

  • beautiful - thanks so much

  • Wow! That represents a lot of work, in spite of the tuning! It seems to be in remarkably good shape!

  • Lol, it's kinda scary and in your face...especially the front. Since this video is from 2008, has this machine made any changes and improvements?

  • this sounds like dog shit. you should not have made this if you were going to make it sound like dog shitt.

  • love the dog leaving at the end....lol.......great song.

  • Lovely. Good luck with it.

  • wow thats cool

  • Yes you can stop the trumpets, it is for tuning. but you can play the organ without the trumpets on.

  • @Kary11858 would you please post it?

  • IS there a way you can rutn off the trumpets?

  • it reminds me when im going to school

  • you should of left out of tune, I could use it to drive away my neighbors :)

    ood work on the restoration.

  • I love that song

  • TOO WONDERFUL! Now THAT I wouldn't mind having in our Media Room. Now, I know why they call them 'Band Organs'. This one is so much nicer than the later versions. I presume it's a very early example.

  • I wonder if it takes 125 rolls

  • IN the mood and the rest are on my CD

  • I am actually from North Tonawanda. I believe this was actually made (originally) at the Wurlitzer Factory in NT.

There is one like this at the carousel in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I see it when I vacation there. :)

This is really neat. Great job on the repair!

  • Yes it kinda looks like the wurlitzer 125 but look at the case it says north tonawanda musical instrument works.

  • I think you were thinking of the wurlitzer 148 not a 125. Most likely it was converted over to play wurlitzer rolls

  • Yes! thanks I have a tape of north tonawanda organs. Is it the same as DeKliest organs?

  • @opus1280 I did.

  • @gwgane3 It probably hasn't played in about fifteen years. It's a shame that they just let it sit there. They don't seem to care as I've tried to contact them about it and they didn't respond.

  • despite the fact it sounds a bit awful in this vid it's lively! And despite it sounding a bit awful I bet you were proud? well done.

  • The entire organ is out of tune. I posted this video while I was still working on the organ. Go to the other videos I have posted lately to here the organ after I tuned it.

Band Organ, North Tonawanda, Chattanooga Choo Choo

Band Organ, North Tonawanda, Pennsylvania Polka

Band Organ, North Tonawanda, Bear Necessities

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Kary

  • I believe that tenor C on the 4' principal is slightly off-tune.

    Nice work putting it together.

  • I love that tune! great job you have done!

  • When the organ is tuned, would you put a second video ? You have done beautifull work. The trumpets are they original ?

The second video with a tripod, for a stable immage ....

  • Another video of the organ is up at current.

  • A brilliant cacophony! Thanks for posting, and for getting so many different views.

  • @delticpaint it was just tuned

  • A fabulous machine. Thanks for posting!

  • Still love the sound.

  • Nice looking North Tonawanda 182! Too bad it doesn't play North Tonawanda rolls anymore, but at least it plays! (this isn't a huge loss; since the NT 48 scale and the Wurlitzer 150 scale have identical playing notes); RE: as to tuning, you can sure say that again! Please post another video after you have tuned it! As to the tune... "In the Mood" for what? duck hunting??? :)

P.S. whatever happened to the Artizan C-2 organ that used to be on the State Fair carousel?
