that looks expensive, my costume in my video was cheap - $4 altogether! and its a real testament of commitment to detail and authenticity, although i did need help wrapping my arms and i couldnt breathe at first!
He sees through the eyes. There is a piece of shear black cloth taped to the inside of the head. The darkness inside the head prevents anyone outside from seeing in but allows my son to easily see out. The can be purchased at a fabric and hobby store.
The eyes are just thin, flexible black-colored foam purchased from a hobby store.
@TheTrainguy10 It may be difficult to shape the high density foam. You may need to roll a large sheet and glue the ends together. The foam I used is the pink foam insulation available at hardware stores.

I believe this foam should work. You will need some rigidity to the foam to help keep the shape. I would buy a small piece to test if the foam can be effectively glued together. I used #M 74 glue, the fabric store may also have a similar product, it's a spray that's organge in color.
The knees do not bend but the foam is slightly flexible and there is some room in the legs to move around but you can't sit down while wearing the costume.
Wow this is great. I have been working on one of these for my 9 yr old son!!! ARGGGH! Can you please tell me how you made the hands and legs? Thanks much!
The arms are a heavy weight blue sweat shirt. The legs and torso are made from 3/4 inch foam that I found in a fabric store. The white foam was glued together with 3M 74; its a spray and orange in color. Once the torso and legs were glued together, I spray painted the entire the parts with Krylon H20 spray latex paint. The hands and head were made from sheets of pink foam insulation glued together with 3M 77. I stacked the sheets and cut/sanded to form.
how many stacks of insulation sheets did you use for the head? and are you saying you used nothing else but the upholstery foam for the legs??? i am desperate for your answers...i am having a hell of a time making this same costume for my son......
For the head, I don't recall the number of pink insulation sheets but try to buy the 2-inch thick sheets to speed the stacking. The legs are the white foam, the only addition was at the top, I glued "foam-core" board across the top of the legs and cut an oval hole for the waist. Foam-core is an art store supply item.
I. Love. This.

Does your son see through the eyes or the mouth. Also, how did you do the eyes and the mouth. Do you have complete instructions posted anywhere?
