the alerts you are receiving aren't "false". They are real radar sources such as automatic doors or other things that emit radar. The only RD's that will ignore these are the GPS radar detectors with Autolock. Such as the 9500ix and 9500ci.

my x50 doesn't say x50 when u first start it, it only says 8500, can anyone tell me whats wrong.

I am very fimilar with the concept of false alerts, i can assure you.
Also, the x50 can be "tuned" to ignore the X-band(which accounts for the majority of the "false alerts").
