  • I love the way Lucy does it here. In the show she usually has a ditzy nasal sort of squeak because thats how she portrays Glinda. It works in the show but it's so nice to have this version. Amanda is amazing.

  • I would for once love to hear the show done in Aussie accents. This is almost accent free :) purrrfection :)

  • @kyabells YES! I hate it how they fake American accents for the show. I mean - London Wicked doesn't do that, so why should we? It really annoys me.

  • @Hawkalina Search Lucy and Jemma performing in Sydney for Australian accent

  • @PorkerTinker If you mean Wicked in Sydney, I'm 99% certain they do it in American accents there too. If you mean just singing in Sydney, it'd be nice to hear, but I was just complaining that it's actually kind of insulting for them to make the Australian cast fake American accents. It's like saying 'We can't understand you so you have to speak like us.'

  • this is gorgeous, it made me cry. well done lucy and amanda, you girls are beautiful (:

  • Jemma Rix is better, such a beautiful pure voice.

  • @KelsiePaiige even though I love Jemma, this is the most vocally beautiful 'For Good' I've heard.

  • A great song done by great singers!!!

  • 2 people have a mental illness

  • @bricefos lol

  • chills + tears = signs that i have enjoyed a performance and this delivered both ... i love the Aussie cast!

  • I saw Jemma Rix and she was good. Now, I wonder how it would be to see Amanda perform.. hmmm...

  • That is absolutely amazing... love it!! great voices and great acting.

  • i wish i saw amanda, but i cant believe jemma was a standby, she deserved the top spot, she is AMAZING. ive seen jemma twice, & patrice once.. who really doesnt measure up, & lucy is always great, i rkn lucy & jemma are better than the american cast

  • @qaz123rtyrty i saw jemma twice and i'm with you. her and lucy beat the originals hands down

  • This is such an emotional performance of this song...not that the song isn't already emotional, but Lucy and Amanda are about to cry!

  • is lucy crying??

  • Love Amanda and Lucy.

Did anyone else notice how the way they're holding hands and microphones around 4:20 forms sort of a heart shape?

  • i wish i could sing...

  • @nushla11 Being able to sing compares to nothing, against Amanda And Lucy

  • she's kinda the australlian version of kristin chenoweth.

  • omg i havent seen amanda for ever shes actually my second cousin if you dont believe me ask my great uncle gordon thats her daughter

  • You can see the real emotion on Lucy's face and hear it in her and Amanda's voice. I thought Pippa did a fine job, but having seen all the youtube of Amanda I wish I'd been able to see her Elphie :)

  • @kyabells I saw Amanda in Melb when she performed and I sat there with tears streaming down my face for half of it. It was so amazingly incredible. I love Idina too, but I wish so much that Amanda's voice was the one on my CD. The emotion, the complete imbodiment of the character is unbelievable. I wish I could have seen her again.

  • thats was actually kinda touching! usually im not an Amanda fan, but this, this was good! :D

  • I saw Wicked near the end of last month it was awesome i love the Aussie cast!

  • one of the best glinda's, right next to kristin chenoweth. ive seen the play once

  • Ive seen it twice the best thing ive ever seen

  • i wish Amanda was still in wicked, i saw it three times had Jemma she is awesome, but Amanda is my fav.

  • @Brad1119loveellen I agree. Gemma is good, too, but I prefer Amanda.

  • I wish Lucy would sing like this in all her performances. I don't like the put on voice she uses in her other performances.

  • Lucy Durack!!!!!!

  • From certain angles doesnt Lucy look like Ashley Greene?? :)

  • Saw Wicked in November where we had Jennifer Dinoia as Elphiba. She was brilliant.

Going to see it again in 2 weeks time on a Friday.

Hope i get Jemma Rix as Elphie.

  • @Jeffryh2005 jemma rix as elphie is awesome.

  • @Jeffryh2005 Haii i saw jemma live! she was sooo amazing i hope u get 2 see her!!! Best Wicked Witch of the West ever!!!

  • @12ashes12 Thanks! Well since that post i've seen Wicked 3 times and have had Jemma each time and holy shit she is bloody amazing! I just sit there in awe when she belts out the end of The Wizard and I and Defying Gravity. I love her "feeling things i've never felt" in the Wizard and I.

    Phenomenal talent.

  • Jemma Rix is the best Elphaba. She's phenominal.

  • love jemma riz and amanda, i hear amanda is making a return to sydney after throat probelms later on in 2010.

wicked is magical, such a great creation

  • no one beats Idina and Kristin singing that song... made me, and still makes me cry, every time i watch even just the video...

  • i saw wicked yesterday and got the standby elphaba JEMMA RIX

she was brilliant! beautiful voice :)

  • Did you see Matinee or Evening show? If sop, did you go to the stage door too? I saw that show as well. Great huh?

  • omg i wasd there too, and much prefer jemma rix <3

  • were they using theb Karaoke CD as the music track?

  • they are both so gooodd :)

i saw wicked in sydney on wednesday its amazing

but we had the understudy for elphabar, does anyone know wat her name is, she was amazing

  • @caseyyjayee i think it was jemma rix

  • Jemma Rix.

  • pippa grandison, she's cute, but i kinda preferred jemma

  • i havent heard amanda sing, i saw jemma. omg they're both just fantastic

  • Amanda and Lucy are so amazing. Such a beautiful song too. I always get teary by the end of it, be it live or on YT..

  • amanda is amazing

  • Thank you, to the love of my life...

  • they are even more amazing on stage

  • I love Kristin and Idena!!

  • same i love the london cast 2

  • Goosebumps..I love the Australian cast!! <3

  • i was never really big fans of anyone but Kristin and Idina but these two are pretty good and they have great chemistry. i hope that i will get to play Elphaba when my high school performs this!

  • u go to a cool highschool

    good luck!

  • they have such beautiful voices and the most perfect characterisation!

  • Yes they do wear wigs .. look up jewelchic's you tube's she has some video backstage on the wigs of Wicked

  • Do they wear wigs in the musical? because I noticed when I went to see the musical a few nights ago that Lucy's hair went from really curly to fairly straight in a matter of minutes in between scenes

  • Luce wears wigs during the entire show (though her actual hair looks a lot like some of the ones she wears). Since moving to Sydney they've lengthened them slightly, and the act 1/younger Galinda one isn't as curly at the ends as it was in Melbourne.

  • omg i saw these two in melbourne, it was amazing!

  • Beautiful rendition, theve got great voices. They have got great chemistry and emotion together and there both gorgeous.

  • ohh i love this song, makes me get tears in my eyes its so nice!

Im seeing wicked for the 4th time on August the 2nd and am wondering if anyone knows if amanda will be performing then? The last 2 times i saw it she wasnt there and i was shattered so yeah im hoping she will be there.

  • Apparently amanda is back now, she apparently returned on the 1st of July.

  • I cried my eyes out in the front row when i saw this live lol, was truly amazing

  • One of my FAVORITE renditions of the song. These two are great!

    Smile! :)

  • greatest song, they did a really good job, however I think Cheno and Idina do the best rendition i've heard.. :)

  • especially the ''youre the only friend ive ever had'' is fantastic with kristin

  • Very beautiful rendition of this song

  • aussie one rocks!!!

  • dahhhh wat did u expect

  • i saw wicked yesterday it was AWSOMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I watched Wicked last week and it was just awesome! It's so good to finally be able to see the two singers up close! They were awesome! I never heard Amanda sang this song though coz it was her understudy I think that performed in Act II as Amanda was sick. Wonderful song!

  • LOVE IT

    ♥♥♥

  • I agree with ILYWICKED

this is the best song ever

    they are just fantastic

    this song makes me cry

    its so sad

  • lmao, you're funny! Why would you sign up to youtube AGAIN to agree with yourself?

  • this song is just so butiful there vioces are so strong and powerful i am so glad these 2 got a part in wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the nicest song

    i love amanda and lucy

    they are great

    the best glinda and elphaba

    such a nice song

  • i saw wicked today and im glad i had these two there awsome, and so pretty!

  • wow...lucy is one of my new favorite glindas! very clear, and effective voice.

  • I am ready to fly to Australia to see these two. They rock.

  • @kevisaurus while Amanda is no longer in the show you still have a chance to see Lucy. but you better step on it. her last show is September 4th when the Australian tour closes in Perth

  • WHO SINGS THIS!?

  • What do you mean, who sings this? Quite a few people have ... it's from the musical Wicked. In this video, it's Lucy Durack and Amanda Harrison. Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth are the original two, on Broadway. But there are productions in the UK, Germany and Tokyo as well, so there are quite a few possibilities . . .

  • R they friends in real life cause they seem to be.

Lucy is so pretty. Such a good song :(

  • they've known each other longer than wicked. of course they're friends!

  • how incredible!! just shows the power of music

  • aww, such a nice song.

i love amanda and lucy they are so amazing! i agree it is a very emotional song it would be hard not to cry and they would develop some pretty strong friendships. love this video!

  • its an very emotional song... most glindas cry in this song

  • @billymmmm09 i've noticed that.. i've only ever seen an Elphaba cry once... but the Glindas cry nearly everytime!! i think it's cute, but what's with that???

  • aw Lucy, your so pretty

  • How could you not cry singing this song?

  • Its telling me the vid is no longer available? I'm guessing my computer is lying to me since people have commented in the last day or so??

  • i cried when i saw this and i think there both really good

  • yes, this was before Rob Guest died.

it is a really emotional song... people in audience cry during this scene... and i have seen show twice and Elphie & Glinda cried during the scene both times

  • why were they crying and hugging and being all emotional? what did i miss?

  • Its they're last time singing together FOREVER. because the musicals are over and this is there last show thing together.

  • wicked isnt finished yet is it... its still going?????

  • this was posted before the first show???? of course its not over

  • explain why they are crying then.

they wouldnt be crying for no reason.

  • idk... but it definately hasn't finished... i went and saw it in late Jan 2009 with amanda and lucy.

maybe something happened b4 the show...

  • Actually yeah, i saw it in jan too.

aww you know.. the old guy who was playing the wizard died.. maybe is was because f that.. if not, i have no clue. or maybe because of the emotion in the song. i dont know.

    lol

    byee xxx;

  • when this was recorded, rob guest hadn't died yet. he is hosting this event thing. it hasn't closed and this was filmed idk like a month i think before it started showing at the theatre. idk though

  • Yeah i agree with lilXsingerXgirl.

    i think its the emotion.

    xx

  • I think its just because its a very emotion song, and they would have become VERY close during the production, so its probably just that =)

  • aww you can hear lucys voice kind of crack coz shes crying in the end.

    aww i loved this musical.

they;re the best musicaians for wicked.

i love you amanda and lucy!

  • I saw this show twice on the weekend and was blown away!! Was gutted that Amanda wasn't Elphie at either show, but I saw two different understudies who were both excellent. Lucy Durack is AMAZING! She is so funny and likeable, while being obnoxious and mean! lol

  • I was like crying while i was watching that.

Lucy and Amanda are the best Glinda and Elphaba on this planet.

I got goose bumps because of how good they are.

    lol

  • i LOVE this song.

  • they are both amazing..

when i saw wicked i was crying so much in this song.. they are amazing performers who should be very proud of what they have accomplished.

i love the dress lucy durack is weraing.. i really want to know where she got it... lol

  • aw! everytime i hear this song i get all sad! sumtimes i get teary eyed! especialy wen i see it in clips like this and always cry in peoples last performances or the ones where the performaers cry! like this ! <3 Wicked!

  • i know.

i cried in the musical when she didnt want glinda see alfie diee and it was even more sad when she was acually alive but she couldnt see her.. aww

    im crying now :(

  • OMG greenfairy1777, im so jealous of you! hehe have you ever met Lucy or Amanda? if you have im even MORE jealous! as i have said before my friend and i sang this song yesterday at our concert! AND we were crying SO MUCH! How emontional is FAR OUTT! : )

  • im friends with Lucy's sister Annie-rose and have met her and performed with her quite a few times

  • Lucy was crying during this on Sunday night. Amanda was wiping away her tears. It was beautiful.

  • i know her cousin!

  • i know her

  • ARGH everytime i hear this sing i get chills down my spine! :) it is so meaningfull, my friend and i are singing this on Monday night at our concert and i am so excited, cause the song is so much like our friendship! :)

  • i saw this last night thier first performance since rob guest died it was so brilliant espiecially when they sang this

  • I was just thinking that this song would have had a lot more extra feeling behind it after his death.

  • they were all crying at the end and heaps of people in the audience were crying as well

  • yeah i know i was crying when saw it in melbourne

  • yes. i liked how at the end rob guest fill in thre a kiss up to heavem

  • OMG. I just love Wicked I have seen it about 5 times and am hoping to go again. The second time I heard them sing this song I wanted to cry but i remebered I was wearing mascara so i tried not to. Oh, and R.I.P. to Rob Guest who was just brilliant.

  • just saw this in Melbourne on a Wednesday Matinee and there was a big sigh through the audience when it was announced before the show that Amanda was to be replaced for this performance. Her replacement though was fantastic. Does anyone know her name?

  • Jemma Stevenson. She is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! I haven't seen Amanda live yet but watching clips I rate Jemma higher. I was dissapointed when I heard she was replaced but Jemma was so good that it didn't matter. She does almost 50% of the shows!

  • Sounds like they're all great - why is Amanda's understudy doing so many shows?

  • It's a difficult role and I think your voice would just give out if it wasn't rested.

It's probably closer to a 60/40 or 75/25 split of shows... but she does a lot more than Lucy's understudy Erin. Both understudies are lovely!

  • Its true.

I saw the show three times and 1 time all of the understudies where playing and that wrrer abaslotley FANTASTIC!

Gemma has an amazing voice and so does Lucy.

Amanda, Lucy, Erin and Gemma all work well in the show and make it feel the same. Fantastic job for all of them

    I LOVE WICKED!

  • No idea.

But Jemma is amazing, so it doesn't really matter.

  • Since the part is so demanding on the actors voice they can only do one show a day so the understudy usually does the matinees. Its the same all over the world. There are only a handful of actresses that can rest their voice fully to perform 2 shows a day..

  • Its true what everyone else has said. It is such a demanding show and the voice needs to be properly rested. Amanda is doing the smart thing, so she ca stay with the Musical for a long time. If u listen to Idina and Kerry now their voices are alot weaker because they do sooo many shows consecutively. So yeah thats prety much why.

  • apparently every shwo they do they both cry singing this song (the director told them too) it brings a whole new level of sadness to the song :'(

    i love this song

  • These girls were so amazing. I was insanely happy with our Aussie cast, and I was lucky enough to meet both girls, and they were just the nicest people. I absolutely loved Melbourne Wicked, and people who were fans of the OBC (like me) will be more than satisfied. I loved it

  • i agree. i met them both too. The are so good. i have seen it 5 times and going again tomorrow again. it is the most amazing production i saw it in LA too and this one is so much better. amanda is so good. i am so proud!

  • I know! I'm entering the ticket lottery tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

And then I'll be seeing London Wicked too! Anyone got any opinions of the current London cast, as compared to our Aussie cast?

  • The London cast are amazing! To be honest I don't think it matters who the cast are because this musical is awesome no matter who plays who. I'll hopefully be seeing this cast when I go to Australia next year, what an awesome 18th birthday present!

  • how did u mange to meet them both?i saw it once and absoluety loved it and im going back to see it again and really want to get autographs

  • this almost made me cry.

  • i love how they get teary singing this!!! real good!!

    xxx

  • I'm watching this from California, near San Francisco. My stepmother lives north of Sydney, I wish I was there so I could go down to Melbourne and see this! I'm told that it's coming back to San Fran in '09. WHY didn't I go when it was trying out here?!!

  • Dont' worry--it'll be back in SF January 09. The LA production is basically being moved North. makes me sad, cuz I live in LA.

  • I liked Lucy Durak as Glinda, though she didn't sound American when I saw her?? Not that I remember anyway.

I do think she is good as Glinda and I thought she made the character her own! Just my opinion.

  • gaaah i saw it last night and lucy was just incredible, her acting was just spot on and she has this amazing ability to jump from comedy to serious in the blink of an eye, love her! we had jemma as elphie and whilst she was definitely amazing i really want to see amanda perform - looks like her and lucy have such a great connection. i'm seeing it again in 2 weeks so hopefully i get amanda then!!!

  • i had the same cast as you on saturday i gotta say thought i was more than happy to have jemma. They were both so bloody fantastic!!! i had so much fun. Hopfully flying out to melbourne soon to see it again. I would like to see how it works differently with amanda

  • Aaw, I wish I could fly to Melb again to see it too! I saw it last week hee. I saw Jemma and she was pretty amazing! I have nothing to compare it to but I'm sure all the cast are great!

  • I watched this on tv on the weekend (at 7 and then I watched it again when it was repeated at 9) and both times I was sitting there just in awe at this magnificent performance.

  • Aw. This is emotional.

  • On OPENING NIGHT the standing Ovation began the very second the show finished and by the time Lucy and Amanda came out the crowd was roaring!!!!!!! I am putting up videos of the after party-hopefully all up today!!!!!!! Thanks for putting this on-AWESOME xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Wow these two have such great chemistry!! I wish I lived in Australia!!

  • i loved the london version!!

  • OMG they are so good!! I have been twice already and going so many more times and i have seen both Lucy and Erin and i agree Erin does a great job but i must say so does Lucy but AMANDA PHWOR!! My goodness she is defintly my new fave!! I think she is much better then Eden Espinosa who i saw in L.A and is very even with Idina Menzel! The set of lungs that girl has she is AMAZING! My new HERO!! I so want to meet her!!

  • I saw it and it was so amazing. I think it may just have been my favourite musical ever and that's saying something as I've seen so many. Amanda had the most amazing voice and Lucy was just the cutest actor ever. I'm definitely going to see it again.

  • Well watching this Lucy does a Mighty Fine Job at For good. She did a Great job on the First Preview Performance. Just tried to be to much liek Kristen Chenowith, instead of making the charachter her own.

  • Iv Been Twice already AND OMG Amanda Does AN AWSOME JOB!!!!! I Have seen Lucy and Erin (understudy) as Glinda and imo Erin is the better one. The performance was more engaging with her in teh role. And all teh Operatic Parts Glinda has She does a hell of alot better than Lucy. But Lucy had her moment to.

  • Good casting for the Aussie version... no one can top Idina and Kristin, however, Amanda and Lucy sound spot on!

  • I can't wait to see Amanda with her green make-up on!

  • She Looks SMOKIN!!

  • Can someone please add THE WIZARD AND I ... Amanda Harrison rocks!!!

  • I can't wait to see them!!!!

Im going in november but i cold be going before :)

I LOVE THEM THEY ARE AWESOME!!!

  • That was brilliant and has totally psyched me up for my visit to the show on July 26th! Bring on an Ozzie cast recording. This is as good as the Broadway/LA cast I saw.

  • I'm seeing it then too! =]

I'm really impressed by what I've heard of all the cast, especially Amanda Harrison and Rob Mills.

    Pumped! hehe

  • Amazing. They are gorgeous on stage... and they cry. and make me cry. *sniff*

  • This was the best performance in that 50 mins of the show..

  • I loved this one and also When You Believe(by Anthony Callea)

Lucy and Amanda are just terrific, as is the rest of the cast, especially Anthony.

  • Thank you so much for this brillant video!
