When are people going to realize, on a mass scale, that nuke power is unnecessary. It creates more greenhouse gas emissions than it "saves" as ordinary power is needed in spades to get it working, and it kills everybody. In Australia their former company BHP (now foreign owned) has started open cut uranium mining, so that country is in trouble too, by way of winds spreading the dumped nuclear tailings (it's supposed to become the biggest mine in the world).
Ok a small amount of emmisions are released when constructing a power station but after that the nuclear power station uses its own energy to run itself, the only time after that emmsions are released would the power fails to the cooling system and the back up generators need to be used. Nuclear power is entirely necessary as it produces a huge amount of energy while releasing no co2. If a whole contry could run on water and wind then it would.

The radiation if the reactors meltdown and spew out radioactive material will be much more abundant than from the nuclear bombs. Those areas of japan will become abandoned ghost towns (of whats left of them ): ) like Chernobyl. Not to mention it spewing across the ocean, getting in all our fishys and possibly the US. At the moment the country is arguably not in as bad a state as immediately after WW2, but if the reactors blow their load then it will be detrimental globally.

For all anti nuclear power guys here, they are currently developing nuclear fusion reactor, they are trying to mimic the chemical processes occurring on the sun, that includes 150 000 000 °C. That sounds dangerous, but at least there's no radiation involved. Donno if this can potentially turn in to one massive hydrogen bomb, if something brakes, but just imagine the power, man that can turn every possible generator on the world.

coincidence, my grandfather was a U.S. fighter pilot who was in the air and witnessed it as well. They both emphatically agreed that if not for Hiroshima & Nagasaki several million additional lives would have been lost to that horrible conflict; as does anyone who possesses a higher level of intelligence. It's very likely neither of us would be alive today had it continued. I would never deride an entire nationality and state that a particular country is getting or will get what they deserve.

When are people going to realize, on a mass scale, that nuke power is unnecessary. It creates more greenhouse gas emissions than it "saves" as ordinary power is needed in spades to get it working, and it kills everybody. In Australia their former company BHP (now foreign owned) has started open cut uranium mining, so that country is in trouble too, by way of winds spreading the dumped nuclear tailings (it's supposed to become the biggest mine in the world).

Ok a small amount of emmisions are released when constructing a power station but after that the nuclear power station uses its own energy to run itself, the only time after that emmsions are released would the power fails to the cooling system and the back up generators need to be used. Nuclear power is entirely necessary as it produces a huge amount of energy while releasing no co2. If a whole contry could run on water and wind then it would.

The radiation if the reactors meltdown and spew out radioactive material will be much more abundant than from the nuclear bombs. Those areas of japan will become abandoned ghost towns (of whats left of them ): ) like Chernobyl. Not to mention it spewing across the ocean, getting in all our fishys and possibly the US. At the moment the country is arguably not in as bad a state as immediately after WW2, but if the reactors blow their load then it will be detrimental globally.
