• LOL, ily. this is beast.

  • Dunsparce is a feathered serpent. I demand a Quetzalcoatl evolution for this god of death in 6th gen.

  • How shameful Bronzong... bitten to death by a DUNSPARCE...

  • My Dunsparce knows Earthquake to do some decent damage to Rock and Steels that wall it pretty well... All the other moves are the same for me and you. XD

  • Dunsparce used bite!

Foe Bronzong flinched and cannot move!

    *repeats*

    Bronzong:FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • if u look closely at dunsparce u can see jesus or chuck norris

  • Dunsparce is fucking epic used him through all the pokemon games lol.

  • Darn Now I can't pick between bite and ancient power!

  • dunsparce may be a useful pokemon if used properly but it seriously needs an evolution!!!

  • hahaha dunsparce even beat the feared Jirachi haxer

  • The red corner still cannot move!

    Bronzong: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • I know this dates back to 2007, but should I EV train my Dunsparce in speed ?

  • If you could get.... Thunder wave... Attract.... Confuse ray... and serene grace w/ flinching move, you would probably never get hit if you manage to lay down all those moves. You could throw in a double team too for some lulz.

  • @LoomaMounten Iv'e had that done to me before :(

  • Dunsparce will slaughter 2 people tonight ;)

  • Dunsparce is the screw you of pokemon. What could a little chibi winged snake do? Fuck your shit up, thats what.

  • @Railware fuck off Dunsparce is epic.

  • @dunsparce2001 Hence I said "He'll fuck your shit up". Please, shut up. He's my favorite pokemon and you bring shame to dunsparce lovers.

  • Dunsparce is one of my favorite but i should be bug type and normal; not just a normal type.

  • "WOOooOOooW! Not much happened this turn! :D"

I swear that announcer's got problems.

  • that thing should evolve in the 5th gens.

  • lol parafusion with serene grace fliching, epic win

  • Lol Dunsparce FTW <3

  • For some reason I can't find it anywhere, what's Dunsparce based on? He's awesome, BTW.

  • @Volstreed

he is based in a Tsuchinoko.

    i think is a snake-worm XD

    sorry my bad english^^

  • I like Dunsparce, but I really hope they give him an evolution in the fifth gen. He's pretty forgettable to be honest, but I would love to have him be a strong opposing force!

  • I dunno, he's probably going to be a bit like Farfetched; they're both based on Japanese folk tales, so, to change the form much may defeat the purpose. It'd be nice, though!

  • I knew that Dunsparce was based on folklore, but I had no idea Farfetched was based on it too. That's interesting, could you link me to what he's based on?

  • Wikipedia/Bulbapedia touch on the folklore, but I can't find anything beyond that at the moment. (It sounds plausible enough.)

  • Thank you!

  • Yeah,and unlike Farfetch'd,Dunsparce doesn't suck =P

  • dunsparce is best! Why don't it evolve any?

  • Because we all love Dunsparce just the way it is!

  • By the way what exactly does Metronome(Item) do? I've used it, but I don't notice any difference in my pokemon's power or anything.

  • If you use the same move more than once in a row, that attack's power will raise. This resets if you change moves.

  • The increase takes a while to decently boost, too.... it's only really viable if you have a strong pokemon with a strong attack move (and even then you'd probably want to do something else).

  • LOL pwned by Dusparce.

  • I'm sure the opponent LOVED this battle!

  • does the serene grace from jirachi stack with the serene grace from dunsparce? it almost seems like it.

    Anyways: nice vid lawlz

  • what do you mean

  • stacking means the effects work in tandem instead of canceling one out because they do the same thing.

  • It's normally a NU (Never Used) (I think so...)

    correct me if i'm wrong.

  • I don't really pay attention to those tiers aside from what is considered Uber. Togekiss close to replaces what Dunsparce can do, but that's not going to stop me from using him!

  • same. togekiss sweep= mehh... dunspare sweep= WTF!!!

  • dunsparce was holding either king rock or razor fang causing 70% chance of flinch

i used togtkiss which have a same abilby flinching with air slash

  • Unfortunately, King's Rock adds nothing to attacks that already have a secondary effect , so the flinch rate is not increased here.

Dunsparce was either holding a Metrenome or a Leftovers. I don't think I've tried anything else.

  • i check king rock work on bite and air slash headbutt has no effect

Dunsparce wasn't holding the leftovers if she did health would be restore

  • Must've been Metrenome, then. Where'd you read up on that, for King's Rock? I've only read otherwise.

  • this techniques is nice and everything but a lot of people have pokemon in their teams now that can prevent this ability. I myself now use a dragonite with Inner Focus and it it stops it from flinching

  • Yeah, there's plenty of ways around it. I just like pulling Dunsparce out if it looks like she can cause a little trouble. ...and if not, hopefully I can get someone paralyzed.

  • WTF that bronzong was caught with a master ball

  • must be a tough bronzong to be caught lol or maybe hacking Mballs

  • dunsparce is awesome i have a lvl 100 attacker dunsparce with 200+ attack named cutie >>;

  • You better believe it! (Cute name - well, I guess that goes without saying, huh?)

  • Dunsparce rocks but how does he use iron tail in the anime he must be slow...DUNSPARCE!!!!

  • Dunsparce is my favorite pokemon! =D

  • Me too!

Dunsparce is my #1 favorite pokemon!

I'm so happy that I can see Dunsparce in Jyoto again.

Can't wait for Hear Gold/Soul Silver to see Dunsparce!

  • ME TOO!! I'm really hoping they fix the whole size thing with him... in the games it says he's 4'11"... which is just dumb.

But I'm so excited for the new games! I'm getting HeartGold. =)

  • I play the Japanese version, so I don't know about the size( cuz I'm stupid).

I don't even know how tall is 4 feet.

    Me too!

    I'm also getting Heart Gold!

  • It means length :D

  • Yeah I know, but that is REALLY big, don't you think? I think he should be like, 1 or 2 feet long. =)

  • Well Ampharos is 4' 11'', and I'm 14 and I'm 5' 4'' so that really isn't that big xD

  • Yeah. I always pictured Dunsparce as he was in the anime... like, hold-him-in-your-arms small.

  • Huh, now I'll have to take a look at the size comparison picture in the game sometime.

  • nice dunsparce hax[not hacks^.^]

  • Dunsparce transfromed into Jirachi

  • Ha ha!!! All hail the mighty Dunsparce!!!

  • XD Epic cool points for Dunsparce victory.

  • I Love Dunsparce

  • wow nice flinch hax

  • Awesome! =D

  • And what was the Iv. nature?

  • I bred for a max speed IV, gave her a Jolly nature, and maxed out speed and Hit Point EVs.

Yeah, it's a VERY weird spread - nobody cares to go for a fast Dunsparce, but I thought I'd try it. Most people boost the Attack stat instead.

(This is a demonstration video, so it skips around sometimes. I had a Bronzong using Confuse Ray, I think.)

  • Oh, okay, sweet I'll try it out.

    Thanks for a fast reply.

  • Amazing! Would you mind telling me what the EV. spread is on dunsparce?

And I didn't catch why they were always confused?

  • lol I have a shiny Bronzong, but thats not me because I double Battle only.

  • i bet after you used roost he was like. FUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!w#!@!@!!! lol

  • Mwahahaha. I sweeped a team with Headbutt / Glare. Dunsparce's rule!

  • i bet you the guy you were facing was eating his wii remote on a plate with sour cream

  • ha i have a dunsparce with glare yawn secret power and rock slide its brilliant rock slides flinching is good beat a charizard once

  • Rock slide is a good choice, certainly.

  • ha, your videos are funny to watch keep em up dude

  • My Dunsparce- earthquake, rock slide, thunderwave, roost

  • Sounds good enough, how's it been serving you?

  • pretty good actually! No one expects it, that's for sure.

  • yup

  • dunsparce is the cutest and coolest pokemon ever!

  • Um...

  • your dunsparce is my hero

  • -.-

  • dunsparce have thunder wave?

  • Yes (through TM), he can learn Glare, too.

  • Thunder Wave is generally the best paralyzing move. Body Slam, although it can hit Rock Types, doesn't have enough chance. Glare can paralyze 10% more than Body Slam, but the 10% isn't worth Body Slam's attack power.

  • Wow! Dunsparce's rather unique because of this.

  • Yeah, apart from Togekiss which can do pretty much the same thing (and better). I just like Dunsparce as a Pokemon way more!

  • Sorry, what is your Dunsparce's nature and Evs? Could you tell me, please?

  • It's not the usual...

It has a Jolly nature (boost in Speed) and has Max Speed and Health EVs.

Most people would just go for Attack rather than Speed.

  • No Defences at all??? 138 Speed (Jolly, 31 IVs, 0 Evs) is more than enough to outrun a paralysed deoxys-e. I guess that I will raise mine's defences equally for increased lifetime. Anyways thank you for the useful information. One more question: With above-minimum offences, how much does it take to take down the non-steel opposing pokemon (Bite-Headbutt hits everything but some steel types with neutral damage)?

  • The idea is that sometimes I don't want to bother with (or can't use) Thunder Wave. Also, I just wanted to try out a fast Dunsparce. Not the norm, but it's what I wanted. The Max HP in and of itself makes it so that Dunsparce can survive some of the most powerful attacks.

My Dunsparce, without the boost in attack, tends to take 4-10 turns to knock out a Pokemon that the attacks are neutral against. Just a rough estimate.

  • Oh man, then Dunsparce's capacitity to survive is mostly because of the number of turns it takes to defeat one opponent. o_O.

The paraflinch strategy is really cool, but... I guess that Dunsparce is not for me :(

(and personally, I think togekiss is good too, despite being OU)

Anyways, your Dunsparce is pretty cool.

Thank you a lot for the useful information. Maybe I will train one in the future.

  • Togekiss trumps Dunsparce, no doubt. I just like Dunsparce better.

Dunsparce needs to be able to survive long enough to let off a Thunder Wave/Glare, and fortunately its high HP almost always guarantees it survives at least a hit.

Past that, Dunsparce just needs to hope it can continually flinch OR try to sneak in a "Roost" with the hopes that the opponent will miss or be fully paralysed.

    It's a goofy pokemon, that's for sure!

  • Togekiss just looks stupid.

  • hahah, I adore Dunsparce, because whilst a vast majority of the Pokemon Community believe that he's pathetic, dies to weak hits and toxic, and generally doesn't do anything, he can be amazing if you know how to use him. I still remember the time when my Dunsparce went up against my friend in local, who was using a tyranitar, the little bugger. I can still remember the look on his face when, after a while, i absoluteley thrashed him XD

  • Dunsparce can (and will) take down even Legendary Pokemon! Granted the odds are against him...

  • do u know were i can get the wii LAN adapter? i wanna get one so i can battle ppl not rlly wi-fi cus lan adaper gives a wired connection but its still basicly the same eh? and im going to get this awsome game

  • Well, Nintendo sells an official one on their website.

  • oh, what do you use for online battles?

  • I just use a regular old Wireless Router. I don't know much about recommendations for LAN adapters, so I pointed you to the official one.

  • nice dunsparce is it EV trained?

  • It's gone through the wringer, yes.

  • Dunsparce is made of win,but wouldn't it be better to get rid of roost for rock slide and give it leftovers?

  • Dunsparce has Leftovers now, actually. Back when this video was made I gave all my Pokemon thematic items. Dunsparce had a "Metronome" because... well, just look at its tail!

Roost has helped me out often enough, and I haven't come across many situations where Rock Slide was necessary. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

  • Yeah, that works; but Glare may be an option over Thunder Wave so you don't get GarCHOMPED on.

  • Yup, I've considered Glare, but I haven't had too much need for it yet. I might make the switch one day.

  • yea it is shiny, it's green and shiny bronzongs are green

  • is that a shiny bronzong?

  • Probably.

  • yes. the regular one is bluish

  • Yeah, shiny Bronzong are a light green whilst the normals are blue. Its funny actually because the only bronzong I ever see are shinys.

  • You can actually add up the "unable to move" calculations.

    Bite or headbutt (30% average)

Serene Grace ability (double 30%= 60%)

Razor Fang (possibly 5 or 10% extra but correct me if i'm wrong, please)

Paralize Effect (25% chance unable to move)

All of that = a whopping 90/95% chance the opponent cannot move!, but you can stack Confusion and Attraction to make it impossible!

  • (Hold items appear to have no bearing on the Flinch Rate.)

They are separately resolved calculations, so it doesn't exactly work like that. For example, if somebody had to roll against a 1% chance 100 times, that does not constitute a 100% failure rate.

Still, 60% chance for a flinch, and a 25% chance for full paralysis is pretty awesome!

  • i aint gonna buy more pokemon videogames because colosseum sucks ass

  • Colosseum WAS a disappointment. I believe it was the one that wanted each player to have a GBA, game, and link cable.

That game has no bearing on the portable titles though, so don't hold a grudge against those.

...And PBR is okay. It's not the most comprehensive battler, but it does allow you to get online and fight.

  • Ha. My favorite Pokemon, Dunsparce. Let it electrify your SOUL.

  • dunsparce is already alseep u cant put it tosleep

  • Mine has Rock Slide, Bite, Headbutt and Thunderwave; with leftovers recovery and ParaFlinch I don't need Roost.

  • What item is he holding?

And we need more battles! :D

  • This is an old one, so he might be holding a Metrenome (kinda like the tail, huh?). Otherwise, it's Leftovers.

I'm just now getting back into the swing of training Pokemon, so you can bet on seeing more battles soon!

  • impressive dunsparce....

  • Thanks!

  • ehm thats realy one hell of a fregin anoying pokemon jesus ¬¬... only ya gotta have patience with his low dmg.

  • Well, he could normally do a little more, but I opted to boost his speed instead when training him.

  • ah k..

  • ♥ This is one more reason that I love Dunsparce, and one more reason for YOU to join the Dunsparce Lovers Club! x3 I love Dunsparce. He owns and I made a plushie of him.

  • Where do I sign up?

  • Must....make...a...dunsparce...

  • Hey, don't treat them like golems, things to be constructed! Pokemon are living breathing creatures that we can break down into digital data and store on a computer's hard drive and then through the use of formulas break down their strength and potential in life!

(I'm being sarcastic if you haven't caught on. Still it's kinda weird to say, "make", at least to me.)

  • By golem you don't mean Pokémon do you?

  • By golem I mean, something inanimate formed into a shape, and imbued with life.

I actually forgot there was a pokemon called Golem!

  • Holy crap.

I had thought of raising a Dunsparce before, but now it's a definite. Both one of my favorites AND a pain in the ass. Two plusses :D

  • They could do with a bit more strength, but they manipulate enough to get by!

  • With King's Rock, Serene Grace, Headbutt, and Paralysis, an opponent has about a 12-20% chance of attacking.

  • Sounds good, but King's Rock isn't supposed to affect moves that already cause flinching.

  • According to Bulbapedia, King's Rock increases Flinch Rate by 30% x (100% - percent chance of flinching).

That would mean it still increases Headbutt by 12% or 6% if it counts Serene Grace, which I don't think it does.

  • I can't find that in the wiki, have a link (or directions)?

I've just gone with what the statistically and formula obsessed people of Smogon have said. They've determined that the King's Rock does not influence moves that already cause flinching, and that Serene Grace grants no bonus to the item either.

  • Just google "Bulbapedia".

  • I found the wiki, I just can't find the information you've stated that is in it.

  • if i saw a dunsparce, i'd know what it would normally have cause people will eventually copy it so i'd switch!

  • Hopefully it'd be a Ground-type, not that that would help you if the Dunsparce has Glare!

  • like a ground/normal type?

    pokemon like girafarig or bibarel

    get it?

  • Girafarig can ignore flinching, but I don't see the advantage of a Bibarel.

  • omg, its ability: simple; moves and effects of itmes are increased! huh?

  • How does that help against flinching? (It doubles stat changes.)

  • lol, never mind.

  • Glare is better, i know thunder wave have 100% accuracy, but it only won't work on ground types, volt absorb and motor drive.

But Glare work on all types

  • I know, I've considered it. I've stuck with Thunder Wave for so long, because of it's accuracy, and because Dunsparce hasn't been too overly trumped by Ground Types as of yet.

Good idea though, I'm still thinking of making the switch.

  • What a battle! What happened at the start?/ What item was dunsparce holding?

  • It wasn't anything all that interesting. I know I used Bronzong to help set up Dunsparce though...

As for the item, back then it was Metrenome. I knew it wasn't the best choice, but I wanted to try it out. (Besides, doesn't Dunsparce's tail look like one?)

  • It's because it have "Serene Grace" that give to u good hax

  • Indeed. The Thunder Wave helps out too, with the chance of full paralysis and the drop in speed.

  • all yall is nerds i like pokemon too u katz is crazy

  • Dunsparce is a retarded pokemon. Nintendo, please do not make retarded pokemon that are never featured in anime or anything special.

  • A quick Google search shows that Dunsparce has indeed appeared in the anime. Not that that is any indication of it's worth. Just don't like the little guy?

  • yes, cuz it looks reali weird.

  • Now that's rather shallow! Look closely, and you'll surely see the Serene Grace it does possess!

  • Thats your opinion. keep it to yourself, minor.

  • Ur so Dumb!

  • ...A Dunsparce beat the strongest Psychic-types out there?? Incredible!

  • Yeah, she does that (although she had some help from my Bronzong in this one). I recently uploaded one in which she starts out against a Mewtwo, and takes him to the cleaners:

"11/11/07 - Überly Underwhelming! - Pokemon Battle Rev - WFC"

  • Dunsparce is awesome. It can learn almost anything....

  • awesome video, i have a dunsparce too and this video makes me proud of mine

  • That's interesting... Thanks!

  • WHY does bronzong look like a drunken idiot?!?!?

  • Wow, the drunken idiots you know must be pretty scary looking!
