As a whitie I can be only thankful for the black heritage of music which touches my heart, when I was a boy of only ten and than never left me...Now I'm 57 and I regret nothing, when I still sing along to that song with my little children which are also falling in love with black music at all...

I grew up on FATS. That's just what we did back in Southeast Texas back in the Pre-Beatles '60s. I'll never stop liking what today is being labeled as "Swamp Pop". My father wrote this song! It was a poem for his girlfriend, Josephine when he was 16! He sent the song into a competition and was accepted. He couldnt afford the copyright costs so sold his rights to the song and Fats Domino bought the rights from my dad for $600! My dad was issued a gold record, but didn't receive any royalties or credit!
