I think that the internet critics who can buy a ship, build a business, hire a crew, command a fleet, and defend the oceans better than Paul Watson does ought to escape from their keyboards they're ball-and-chained to, and do so. I suspect Paul Watson would agree with me.
@heymisterderp I have 2 large fishing boats (10 man crews) and a small (4 crew) fisher, I own a business and I hire my crew and I command my "fleet". I think If anyone is qualified to comment on this video, it's me. Also, getting your face on the T.V and bothering (not stopping) japanese whalers doe's not count as defending the oceans. I am a fisherman from scotland and i am against whaling. But its their waters so they can do what they want.
@sgtrummy The southern ocean is not their waters. In fact its a whale sanctuary, they just have managed to understand that by calling it science which is has been proven not to be that they can try and make money from it.
Kind of like the Faroe going down into a fish sanctuary near scotland... taking thosands of fish and saying its just science while trying to make millions from it. Its an abuse of the environment.
Also the TV show brings awareness... in todays world the media is power.
Lastly I've paid close attention to their campaigns. To say they have not stopped japanese whalers is silly. And frankly a lack of knowledge in this topic. Sea Shepherd have been the only group to reduce the catch of the whalers. Currently right now the MY Bob Barker is chasing the Nisshin Maru and from that they have not been able to hunt one whale in months. SSCS have been around since the 80s... probably one of the only groups to make a real difference and they have proved that
@revron77 They have been around since 1977 and haven't stopped the japanese. They might very well have disrupted a small part of the fleet, but they have not stopped it. If after 35 years, you haven't managed to stop it, then you must be doing something wrong. In my opinion, training and organization.
For half a decade they have made whaling completely unprofitable for the Japanese. Japan is only continuing its hunt to save face with the world....
Just because things do not disappear and the evil doesn't go away does not mean that a person should be a pussy and walk away from the fight. You continue and continue. The only success that has ever come from this world has came through patience’s.
@revron77 Don't think that the japanese would carry on fishing if is wasn't profitable. The fishing boats are owned by and large by companies, not the Japanese Government. If it wasn't profitable then they could not afford to run it as a business. Also, the private security force that was sent into Sierra Leone to successfully take on the R.U.F is an example of how force instead of patience can work.
I mean pretend I made it that your business was so fucked that you needed to beg the Scottish government just to keep your boats running..... if you still say that I'm unorganised and lack training. You better have a good look at yourself in the mirror and measure how much I've fucked you over.... you might not stop.. but it doesn't mean your winning.
@revron77 The minute scotland got involved with the european union my father had his business, which had been trading since 1892, destroyed by quotas that were introduced by other E.U members. Most of these quotas apply to Scotlands fishing industry and half our waters. They were backed by Greenpeace, SSCS and many other animal rights groups. I have rebuilt that business and we are now a good size. If the E.U can't destroy scotlands fishing industry, SSCS won't destroy japans.
@revron77 You don't need to be a scientist to know that the quotas are only a good thing if they are observed by everyone. My country and all its fisherman, would not have a problem with the quota's if they were observed by everyone. But what animal rights idiots like you don't realise is that, just because one country obeys the law regarding quotas, doe's not mean that you are saving anymore animals. It just mean's that other countries are legally fishing to higher quotas.
@sgtrummy No, because one country obeys the law requiring quotas is one country closer to the problem being solved. Since quotas aren't being observed by everyone they must be enforced. If government isn't going to enforce them, and government is a terrible organization to rely upon to get things done, then we rely on civil action to get the job done. There is no such thing as perfect enforcement and that's never a valid reason not to have enforcement or to fail to support it.
@sgtrummy Because they're a non-violent activist organization, they lack the brute force or deadly violence that governments use when dealing with each other and thus, the results are disruptive more than absolute. You're not going to sink the fleet overnight but SSCS has already succeeded in driving them into the red, and if it weren't for the hapless Japanese taxpayers duped into subsidizing the fleet it would have already been sunk long ago.
@sgtrummy You need to do the slightest bit of homework on the history of Sea Shepherd before you come here trying to spread inaccurate information that they've been fighting Japanese whaling in the Antarctic for 35 years. If they were, even the Japanese taxpayers would have grown exhausted by now having to pay for these welfare-laden poachers.
@heymisterderp Again you have failed to read and understand basic english. I have never claimed that SSCS have been "fighting" the Japanese since 1977. I only said they have been around since that date. And since you said they had been around since the 80's i think it is you who has to do his homework.
@sgtrummy Yes you did, you claimed exactly that when you said "They have been around since 1977 and haven't stopped the japanese. They might very well have disrupted a small part of the fleet, but they have not stopped it. If after 35 years, you haven't managed to stop it (the Japanese), then you must be doing something wrong."
You had or still have no knowledge of the history. It has nothing to do with organization and has everything to do with the fact that they weren't there.
@sgtrummy This would be more the equivalent of Japanese fishermen traveling to oceans near the coastline of Scotland and fishing there. The Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary is 7,000 miles away from Japan so it isn't "their waters" whatever that means. Please take a picture of yourself on your boat holding a piece of paper with "heymisterderp" written on it and then I'll take your personal claims seriously.
@heymisterderp I don't care that much about this debate to go to the effort of doing what you ask. Also, you can choose not to listen to me and ignore my comments, but at the end of the day, you will just do what every other hippie doe's when someone with experience give's a reasoned argument. you'll ignore it and keep making stupid comments. What makes you such an expert on this topic anyway?
@sgtrummy I don't claim to be an expert, that's your shtick. If you're going to resort to such logic as appealing to yourself as your own authority, then emailing me a picture of you and your "fleet" would be required for me to hold you in the light you want to stand in. This isn't about me. Usually the conversation turns personal when ideas run out. Fortunately I'm here to discuss ideas and issues, not the individuals welcomed here to discuss those ideas and issues.
@heymisterderp I also put the word fleet in brackets as i felt it was too grand a term to use to discribe a group of 3 boats. I have never claimed to have authority in this arguement, you took that into it. Also, i have not claimed to be an expert I have only stated my opinion. your the one getting all worked up about it.
@sgtrummy Of course you claimed to be an expert. You said "I have 2 large fishing boats (10 man crews) and a small (4 crew) fisher, I own a business and I hire my crew and I command my "fleet". I think If anyone is qualified to comment on this video, it's me." According to you, you're the most qualified person there is, so if you're not an expert nobody is. I'm not worked up about anything I'm just reading what you write. What word you feel is too grand is just rhetoric.
@heymisterderp Yes I meant qualified respectivly, as in out of you and me, and the other guy, I am the most qualified. I never claimed to be an expert, i merely said i was qualified to make an informed comment. And telling you the facts I have at my disposal i.e my business, is a way of confirming that i am the most qualified in this argument. At no point did i say i was an expert on this topic. Also, i find it hard to listen to a man who clearly has no respect for the lifeguard.
@sgtrummy Ok so don't deny the fact that you claim to be an expert again. An expert is always the most qualified. Unfortunately everyone's a hero or expert on a Youtube video comments section so appealing to yourself is the lamest logical fallacy you can stoop to. That I'm even giving you a chance at proving yourself to send a photo to me via email is giving you a wider berth than you probably deserve. Conversely, if you have no expertise you're not more qualified than anyone.
@heymisterderp Why are you so desperate to see a photo of me? If i were to do what you ask, and send a photo. You would have my companies details, i.e my email, you would know which harbour i was based at and you would know the name of the boat i am on. Why on earth would i give you those details? And if i am no more qualified then you, why are you trying to prove me wrong? surly you think you are more qualified then me, in order to be right in your argument.
@sgtrummy I'm not desperate to see a photo of you at all. But if you want to be taken as someone who has knowledge to be "the most qualified" (what?) then you'll need to provide some evidence. Otherwise you won't be believed. There's no way I could have any details of your company from a photograph of you in a boat holding a piece of paper with my username on it. Appealing to ourselves is moot when we're all anonymous. Therefore, appeal to knowledge to determine right or wrong.
@heymisterderp So you are telling me you want to have a photo of someone holding your username and claiming to be on a boat? Me doing that is no evidence at all. The only way you could tell i was on a boat is if you saw a wide angle shot of me, actually on a boat. And since i am 21 miles off the east coast of Scotland, i don't think you'll be getting that anytime soon. I am only more qualified then you because it is obvious you have never set foot on a boat for any length of time.
@sgtrummy The photo would show someone on a boat, not "claim" someone is on a boat. And so yes; that would suffice. It's not proof as proof goes, but it is evidence and I'll accept that low standard for it, just for you.
@sgtrummy How is it obvious where I haven't set foot?
If you're 21 miles off the east coast of Scotland you're not in Scottish waters and that's exactly where the Japanese fishermen would be fishing you out of business. When it's your habitat that's being invaded you'll wear that shoe on the right foot so you can start to care about it. Also, being 21 miles off the coast of Scotland, you should get yourself a camera. Consider it your "crew"'s expense account.
@sgtrummy Wide angle lens? Please! Any photo showing you on the deck with the water behind you will suffice. What a pathetic excuse to worm your way out of a very simple task of proving your fabulous claims made anonymously here. Appeal to something else. Like a dictionary or an encyclopedia which are actual authorities over us all worth appealing to. Good luck.
@heymisterderp At the end of the day, i don't have to prove anything to you. The last thing i want is a bunch of hippies turning up in my home port, protesting and being disruptive. Fishing has been around long before you idiots and will continue to be here when we are all dead and buried. So get a life and stop preaching to people about how they should veiw things. And before you say anything, remember that i gave my opinion and because you disagree, you started this arguement.
I think this guy should focus on having a crew that can sail his boats properly before he starts talking about how he's winning the war. Also, it can't be a war if one side (Japanese) is winning without doing anything. Thats not a war, its a joke. Fuck paul and his crew of morons. He wouldnt have lost a boat if he focused on training.
@revron77 I don't think that you can claim that rogue wave's are the cause of his crew breaking equipment, destroying launch craft and basically not being fully trained. I happen to be a serving RNLI seaman, and its people like this guy and you, who think that to go to sea is easy and requires no thought or training. But i'm sure sitting at your computer it is easy to judge. Myself and other sailors don't pass judgement when we are in the North Sea saving idiots like you.
Ohhh good... you sit in a rigid inflatable once a week and then call yourself a sailor.... your such a great sailor that you feel that just saying your one gives you the magical power of knowing a situation before you have even been in it.
If anything your the idiot... why? First flaw... A TRIMARAN IS NOT A LAUNCH CRAFT.... Please save me some time and don't reply.. your pervious comment already has my gut hurt from laughing...
@revron77 First of all, you are correct a trimaran is not a launch craft. I was referring to an episode where they got one of their 2 launch RIB's stuck due to ignorance. second, I call myself a sailor because I have been sailing for many years as i am a fisherman. Thirdly, as you should know the RNLI is a voluntary organization which is is on call 24hrs a day 365 days a year, not just one day a week on a RIB. I would hardly call a tamar a "rigid inflatable" you moron.
Now heres something from the European Space Agency... "Once dismissed as a nautical myth, freakish ocean waves that rise as tall as ten-storey apartment blocks have been accepted as a leading cause of large ship sinkings" 200 super tankers have been destroyed by rouge waves. Now heres the question... do you honestly believe that a experience captain on a massive ship would be able to counter a rogue wave??
The day your hit by one will be the day you understand your incompetence
@revron77 At no point in this "back and forth" we've been having, have i ever said that there is no such thing as a rogue wave. I know they are real. You've created this argument and your main and only point is that rogue wave's are real, which is something nobody is denying. I am pointing out that his crew are poorly trained. If you had used your time in replying to read and understand all comments made, i might have taken you more seriously, but after these last comments i won't
"sharks don't attack humans, they don't like us, we don't taste good." yeah, how do they know how we taste if they didn't eat us. fuckin moron. go get fucked in the ass by a spermwhale u fucking cocksuckers
18th Century, your brought up in European society (one of many races but were most powerful) and your told by your parents that the slave trade is okay, you see adverts of slave trade, all elders support it, you never hear the voices of the slaves but your so zoned into society and the idea anyone who claims slaves deserve rights is ignored. yet racism is wrong.
21st century, your brought up as a human told by ur parents, teachers & adverts that the meat industry is okay. speciesm is wrong.
@rorycalhoun27 i enjoy fine dining too, but i fully support Captain Watson's views. We do need to protect and save and defind the animals of the water world.
@rorycalhoun27 . I don't know who paul is or what he does - couldnt give a shit either way. I dozed off at the first 30 seconds of this video which was suggested on the right.. I just zeroed in on the word "sin" in your comment. Not many thinking people flail that word around these days. Only rabid christians do ;)
@rorycalhoun27 . lol "sins"... let me guess, american? bible bashing, god fearing, right wing republican, fox news guzzling hick? using "sin" is a give away for the aforementioned.
Check out our upcoming documentary about UK climate change activists. See behind the scenes of a few very well publicized protests, minus the media spin. We are nearing completion and we hope you get a chance to see the final product!
"Returned returned from dinner from The Drunken Admiral of all place. I took Scott, Chris the Helicopter pilot, Locky the 1st Mate and Barbara the photographer and Locky's girlfriend. It was a very nice dinner. Mussels and oysters, followed by the main course, chicken with lemon grass and green curry for me. Apple pie and vanilla ice cream for desert." -Paul Watson
Paul watson is a fuckin douche bag, he is a chronic liar who uses the media to gain fans...i hope one of those seals lr dolphins or whales he 'cares' about so much bite his fuckin none existent balls off
@1488pitbull we evolved from primates you retard they are herbivores with a small amount if insects in there diet. look at our god dam teeth apposed to a omnivores or carnivores we are supposed to be herbivores we have forced our self's over evolution to be able to eat meat. do your research
I would be thankful if someone could send me a vid of poul watson get busted in the Faroe Island, so that I could watch the vid over and over again :) I just LOVE to see their crimes or if you want to call it 'UNDERCOVER OPERATIONS' go wrong :) I am kinda excited to see if the pussy Watson even DARES to come close to our contry in the sommer of 2011 :) Or if he sends his 'Henchmen' to do the dirty work .. To the 'Henchmen' If he gives you a belt looking like dynamite then run bitch xD
@TheHilmar19 Paul Watson has done more than you will ever do to save the world. If you want your kids (which you will probably have none, because if you are this much of an asshole, no girl {or guy} will even want to know you) to live in a dying world, then go ahead and keep thinking the way you do.
Not every world known organization can stay "undercover" for ever, their bound to get caught, but they have still completed many other tasks that help make the world a better place for the next gen.
Poul Watson ?!! Do any of you guys know where he did buy his tin badge ? I want one of those so that I can play an law enforcer to :) This Sea Shepherd thing Is FUCKING pathetic, from a distance they are good at talking shit to people.. but once the police comes for them they flee like the cowards that they really are !! (LOL) !! You guys talk about animal rights huh ? then what about the HUMAN rights you scumbags? Use your support to help the poor children in Afrika instead you fucking retards!
The man above now promoted himself to be an admiral. He is not a captain any more. Well, he had no certificate or anything, so that is all right.
Anyway, Watson, who calls himself a millionaire, wants YOUR MONEY to accomplish nothing. Oh, even though Watson is a millionaire, don't forget that he does not donate his money to SSCS. Instead, he pays himself out of your donation.
Should you wish to waste your money, and want to support crimes, feel free.
i cant stand this fucking crowd they are ruining the video bunch of fucking idiotic morons can't wait to fucking clap. Shut the hell up! I have to keep lowering the volume as these idiots get a boner and start yelling after every sentence he says. Let the guy speak god.
Paul Watson is a shepherd of God sent to protect one of his glorious creations. I thank him for his service and I hold it with equal regard to our men and women in uniform. Although his actions are controversial and in some cases illegal, you have to admire a man who's willing to risk his life for a cause he believes in.
Paul Watson is a fat mess and couldn't lead his way out of a paper bag. Totally incompetent, fat, arrogant, crybaby, latte sipping liberal pussy. I douchebag guess what I eat whales, seals, and seabirds. When I shit these sea creatures out of my asshole they smell like green weenie vegans like you. For a vegan you're pretty fat. You must be a closet hamburger whore.
We can all sit idly by and putz around while the great whales and all the large mammals on our planet disappear, or we can take action to save what precious few we have left. People with an agenda to potty mouth Paul Watson don't give a damn about the facts, such that Blue Whales were 99.x% wiped out before hunting them became illegal, and after decades to recover, their numbers are still measured in the hundredths of what they once were. It's a travesty. Whales can't withstand the slaughter
YOU PEOPLE ARE MINDLESS! These whales have feelings and thank you Paul watson for saving 528 whales this year. You guys that think whaling is fine, try watching whale wars on animal planet. These GENTLE GIANTS HAVE EMOTIONS JUST LIKE HUMANS! This was not a waste of money. This is my opinion and you may have your opinionbut you know what, These people are my heros, my idols. They risked there lives for these whales and all you guys care about is we should just keep killing these endangerd whales.
So, your hero is Paul Watson, a liar, hypocrite and convicted felon? Guess it's too bad you weren't born in a different generation - you could have idolized Mao, Idi Amin or Jim Jones. Check out the site at SeaShepherdLies since you clearly don't have the facts about your "hero".
He keeps saying that whaling is illegal....uhh no its not. The SS hasn't made a difference....at all, even though they think they have made some big miraculous difference. His non-violent tactics arent getting him anywhere. And wow, he makes fun of Deadliest Catch and says that the seas he spends his time in saving whales is "rouger seas". Bullshit. The Bering Sea is as rough as it gets.
Cappy Watson ROCKS!!! Go get 'em Captain! One of my very highly favored heroes!!!
As a Sea Shepherd DAC member I am more than proud to always stand up and fight for my heroes!!! Peace and blessings, and may God and the angels watch over you all on your very dangerous journeys to save the innocents!!!
@MetalAngel2004 Then you're reading the wrong things. Would you die to save an innocent endangered whale? He would, so would his crew. The man is a living legend, and he's done no wrong, only the a-holes on here posting ignorance and stupidity have, and eventually karma will come round for them...
@rayner3959 So far I've seen that they might need someone who can pilot a helicopter, cook, pilot a ship, fix a ship engine, operate a radio, do some electronics, be a doctor, or speak Japanese. Otherwise you have to be willing to risk your life to save a whale.
@eagleray7 I did actually put "you have to be willing to risk you life to save a whale." That's worded as a prerequisite. I'm guessing they have plenty of volunteers. Those other skills would certainly be helpful. Sure, the person can apply, and stands a chance of getting picked, but I'd certainly want some other skills from applicants than swabbing the deck. I'd add "experience operating a motorboat, being a nurse, a photographer..." Anything that would make them stand out. Even a musician.
He is a liar and a hypocrite. Moreover, She Shepherd is a violent organization.
I can not believe taht some people give them the money to support their violent activities. The group has been accused of eco-terrorism. People should critisize them. I do not support them at all.
@ssteinbeckbb Shows how short and narrow minded and sighted you are. No one has EVER been hurt during a SS mission that includes both crew. When your grandchildren or their grandchildren have amazing creatures to observe in person you can thank people like Captain Paul Watson for that.
@NJDEVIL91923 First of all, the whales are not the only beautifull creatures on this planet. Anyway, we have to see this issue from a few differernt angles and it's complicated because the issue contains cultual differences, politics, and scientific matters. When we argue about cultual differences, there is no solution. I understand why you want to support the Sea Sheperd because thier "direct action" is based on liberalism yet it has gone over the line.
@ssteinbeckbb It doesn't matter whether the whales are the most beautiful beings in the world or not. And this issue has nothing at all to do with liberalism, cultural differences, politics, nor scientific matters. This issue has only to do with saving a precious species. And if the environmentalists had not saved the whales from the early sixties on, then the whales would have already been extinct a long time ago. This issue is about true love and compassion.
@NicolaRedwooddforest Then why don't you save the kangaroos in Aus? They are killing wild kangaroos many of them every year. Nobody has not prooved the whales are endangerd or not yet. It is only a hypothesis. Did not you know that? I need some one who can argue with me LOGICALLY.
@ssteinbeckbb If you are willing to argue with people logically and not use insults and hate language, than we can talk. I love kangaroos. I love all animals. All living beings need to be loved and protected. I petition for many different species on this planet. I write letters to politicians and judges all the time including for the protection of kangaroos in Australia.
@ssteinbeckbb part 2: Many whale species are at high risk of extinction today. But even if the whales were not at risk of extinction, they are being brutally murdered by harpoons. They suffer horrible pain. That's why we must protect them.
@ssteinbeckbb Actually many whale species have been proved endangered. There is only 2000-3000 blue whales left on the planet. There was once an estimated 300,000. That's just one example. "cultual differences, politics, and scientific matters" Do you actually understand what is happening in the ocean? DO YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND? There wont be any "cultural differences" to be had when everything in the ocean is gone because we will have disappeared as well.
@ssteinbeckbb You say that this issue is complicated because it all about culutrual differneces but on that fact you are wrong. The Japanese did not start whaling intill after world war 2 because they need a source of food and the leader who started that program was General Douglas Macarthur of the USA. So this claim that its about Culutral difference is total BS.
@ssteinbeckbb Spoken like a true greenpeace supporter. Keep holding your signs and begging like children for the slaughter to stop. Your just as guilty as the japs.
@NJDEVIL91923 hey short mind person you ever been on a ship when is been rammed you ever try walking on a wet slippy deck at night when you cant see 3 ft in front of you no you have im so sick of people who think the sea shepherds is some great thing
@ssteinbeckbb "A violent organization" Compared to what exactly? Society? Governments? Don't be stupid. Humans are living in a fantasy land in which we only measure violence when done to another human being. Well sorry to burst your bubble mate but humans are not the center of the universe. Violence and hate crimes are done to animals all over the world every day BY governments and society. Nelson Mandela was once accused of being a terrorist, accusations by governments mean nothing.
@ssteinbeckbb Again you say "violent activities", do you not think that slaughtering a creature who might be highly intelligent should not be considered violent? Sea Shepard have never injured another person yet the Japanese whaling boats are trying to KILL the members of the sea Shepard organization, this year they even sank the aby gill one of their new boats almost killing 3 people. Tell me how are the Japanese peace loving people..and you're actually calling Watson a hypocrite, yea right.
This man is one of the greatest environmental protectors in history, and knows the value of sentient life as well as any human can. He will go down in the history books as one of the great leaders who helped to save our planet, and all sentient beings who reside on it. A true hero. P.S: Paul Watson is vegan, and strongly advocates veganism.
@TheCite only problem is the animals you are protecting such as dolphins, seals, sharks, they are all meat eating fish eating criminals.. why you protecting them huh?
p.s. if you want to address this problem you are going to have to get all those criminal animals (dolphins, sharks, dogs, cats) eating algae and plants because protecting meat eating animals is pure hypocrisy... seals murder fish ..... where is their tofu burger folks, this problem is not easy to solve like you think it is
Animals have neither the choice or reasoning to decide whether it is alright to kill another animal. They do it, or they die. They know no different. No human can say this, we can live perfectly healthily without killing or exploiting animals, but continue to do it purely for its pleasures.
@TheCite Complete lies and bull. Dogs that are well fed at home will kill mice and birds/goose even if they are already well fed and need no food. They do it for pleasure I have personally witnessed a dog slaughter and taunt several different animals - and this is no bad dog, it's considered good in society and well raised. I have also had friends tell me their dog killed a goose, frog, mouse, and did not eat it but purely killed it for pleasure
dogs and other animals such as lions will kill and taunt/slaughter animals when they do not have to do this - and dolphins if they are so damn smart like you say they are, then why aren't they vegans if they are so smart, they can eat algae and plants in the ocean and stop the murders and species-ism
if dolphins are so stupid that they have no idea about cruel killings and if dogs are also that stupid, then protecting such stupid idiotic creatures is a complete waste of time - they are scum and retarded. It's like protecting maggots or bacteria because you think they have a right to be stupid
and if they aren't going to stop the murders themselves then you as a vegan better teach them with your little electric devices to hook up to their brains - tthis world is not as easy as a problem to solve as you think
So basically you're telling me that the dog has the power to ignore all of its natural instincts, and realise that it is morally wrong to kill animals?
@TheCite so basically what you are saying is that a dog that kills other animals in society even if it is not going to eat the animals, is something you as a vegan want to encourage and support? Personally I think it would be better if you shot the dog, ate it, and let animals like pigs survive.. and horsese, and cows
And I'm seriously asking you to consider this not just joking... if you truly want to see your vegan ways you're going to have to address the problem as a whole, not just as a human but as a whole. This whole planet needs to change and you need to encourage NON violent animals to survive while the violent ones die out. Sad but true - sacrifices need to be made just like dinosaurs were no goood. Cats, dogs, are just old dinosaurs with sharp teeth. Also birds that kill worms... no good...
@SeeProfileForDetYou're telling me that seeing as other animals (including carnivorous animals that must kill to survive), cannot understand that it is morally incorrect to kill other animals, then it is alright for humans to do so, who do understand that it is incorrect. I guess by that line of reasoning, humans should also be able to rape and murder fellow humans, seeing as animals can't understand that that's wrong either?ails
But no matter how hard you try to get rid of all the dogs that kill and replace them with vegan dogs, eventually some other cruel creature will come back and eat that creature to rule the world, because too many pests exist on the earth and somehow they must be gotten rid of. If you just kill the pests and don't eat them, then it goes to waste... so... it is NOT AN EASY PROBLEM TO SOLVE TRUST ME I HAVE THOUGHT LONG ABOUT IT ALL
-All animals rape, consensual sex is a foreign concept in the animal kingdom.
-As far as we know, no other animals on earth use symbolic language, ethics are an abstract concept depending on symbolic language. Your dog can be taught to do this and that through training, but it is the human who is forcing their ethics upon him. Left to its own accord, a dog like all animals, does not comprehend ethics, they go by what is natural to them.
@TheCite all animals rape! you are a fucking idiot... not worth arguing with ! females submit when they prop their ass up in the air and beg the male to come and insert his dick.... again I cannot argue with someone so stupid as you, you ar ea c omplete tool and retard. Bonobos actually have the females dominate and control the sex
This idiot only fosters HATRED and RACISM by his extremist acts.
Tell me if there's ONE supporter of this idiot that doesn't talk shit about JAPAN as a whole, as if the entire country is aboard the ship hunting for whales.
Why doesn't this obese hypocrite invest his 91k/yr salary to protest his own damned neighbors slaughtering cows to grill on the Aussie barbie. Give me a fucking break.
I am a 100% supporter of Sea Shepherd, and am fluent at Japanese and have nothing but respect for the country. I am against whaling as a whole, not the countries that practice it.
@TheCite killing a mouse and not eating it is equivalent and even worse than rape - the dog is a criminal. What use does it have in your vegan world? it's like bacteria in your mouth -0 why put up with that cruelty? you let bacteria live or no? it is scum
You're telling me that animals have the capability to understand ethics. Domesticated animals such as dogs and cats should be prevented from killing wild animals in the first place. You didn't answer my question - seeing as animals rape and murder each other, does that not make it acceptable for humans to do so as well?
Why do people such as yourself who have obviously never opened a book on animal rights, come seeking animal rights videos and then start criticising animal rights, acting as if you're an expert? All the pathetic arguments you're raising are covered in every animal rights book, go and educate yourself!
Yes, Paul plays the same media game everyone else plays, to save a major ecosystem on this planet. What is everybody else playing the same game for?
The fundamental choice we all have before us here, is a choice between the survival of our oceans, and whale meat. And there are people who dissect the issue with a scalpel trying to scrape up whatever excuse they can find for the whale meat club.
Paul Watson -for his life's work- is a legend, regardless of our opinions.
That Oil Company is powering your boats, lol We are all hypocrites, we all drive are cars, heat our homes, boats, our yard tools, I mean the list goes on, but I do understand but none of us our clean, we all have dirt on our hands and souls. We can just all do our best. too treat each other good, be kind, considerate and be tolerant of others.
How do you feed the masses? Meat is a necessity for growing children and yes people can make it on vegetables, aren't they considered part of life too? Vegetables and plant life just don't move fast enough or look at us with big beautiful eyes and we get no satisfaction from petting them. It's really all about us both sides of this issue. Are own guilt back in the beginning of time we thought it was ok to kill to eat, but we are so many now there is no humane way of accomplishing this feat.
And yes, I am a hypocrite too I guess, I do eat meat and I can't stand to see how our food is treated before it gets to my plate, it disgust me, if everyone seen this on National TV, meat sales would go down dramatically. Lets work on scientific ways to create our food without killing animals that is all I can say. It's one of them strange and difficult causes to defend really but lets don't kill these beautiful huge mammals. There is just some beauty you should just leave be. Tough Issue!
@HerosComment This is one of my problems with a lot of the animal rights folks to begin with ahem "Lets don't kill these huge beautiful mammals." that is what I just ADORE (not commenting on you, just the animal rights folks in general.) a LOT (not all. You get some like ol Paul who think we should "reduce the human population" and that earth worms are more important than ppl. But a LOT ramble about "Zomg dat animal r so pretty! why hurt it?" while scarfing down 10 hamburgers.
There is some hypocrisy in what he says, but I happen to agree with his cause, the law says you can only can kill a whale for RESEARCH, 960 Whales a year for Japan as they slaughter them immediately and process the meat on the ship, come on talking about hypocrisy. Get the law changed Japan or quit breaking it. These are beautiful animals to us, whales, dolphins and seals, we do NOT want to see them die needlessly, they have their place, lets knock it off. I own guns, I am a conservative. USA
I think that the internet critics who can buy a ship, build a business, hire a crew, command a fleet, and defend the oceans better than Paul Watson does ought to escape from their keyboards they're ball-and-chained to, and do so. I suspect Paul Watson would agree with me.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp I have 2 large fishing boats (10 man crews) and a small (4 crew) fisher, I own a business and I hire my crew and I command my "fleet". I think If anyone is qualified to comment on this video, it's me. Also, getting your face on the T.V and bothering (not stopping) japanese whalers doe's not count as defending the oceans. I am a fisherman from scotland and i am against whaling. But its their waters so they can do what they want.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy The southern ocean is not their waters. In fact its a whale sanctuary, they just have managed to understand that by calling it science which is has been proven not to be that they can try and make money from it.
Kind of like the Faroe going down into a fish sanctuary near scotland... taking thosands of fish and saying its just science while trying to make millions from it. Its an abuse of the environment.
Also the TV show brings awareness... in todays world the media is power.
revron77 1 month ago
@sgtrummy
SSCS have been around since the 80s... probably one of the only groups to make a real difference and they have proved that
revron77 1 month ago
@revron77 They have been around since 1977 and haven't stopped the japanese. They might very well have disrupted a small part of the fleet, but they have not stopped it. If after 35 years, you haven't managed to stop it, then you must be doing something wrong. In my opinion, training and organization.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy
For half a decade they have made whaling completely unprofitable for the Japanese. Japan is only continuing its hunt to save face with the world....
Just because things do not disappear and the evil doesn't go away does not mean that a person should be a pussy and walk away from the fight. You continue and continue. The only success that has ever come from this world has came through patience’s.
revron77 1 month ago
@revron77 Don't think that the japanese would carry on fishing if is wasn't profitable. The fishing boats are owned by and large by companies, not the Japanese Government. If it wasn't profitable then they could not afford to run it as a business. Also, the private security force that was sent into Sierra Leone to successfully take on the R.U.F is an example of how force instead of patience can work.

@revron77 What do you mean by "tradition"? also, anyone can bring up quotes to support their argument,
“Si vis pacem, para bellum” "If you want peace, prepare for war"- Flavius Vegetius Renatus. 375 A.D
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy
Get my drift?
revron77 1 month ago
@revron77 The minute scotland got involved with the european union my father had his business, which had been trading since 1892, destroyed by quotas that were introduced by other E.U members. Most of these quotas apply to Scotlands fishing industry and half our waters. They were backed by Greenpeace, SSCS and many other animal rights groups. I have rebuilt that business and we are now a good size. If the E.U can't destroy scotlands fishing industry, SSCS won't destroy japans.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy
Also backed by science... Thank you Standford University...
revron77 1 month ago
@revron77 You don't need to be a scientist to know that the quotas are only a good thing if they are observed by everyone. My country and all its fisherman, would not have a problem with the quota's if they were observed by everyone. But what animal rights idiots like you don't realise is that, just because one country obeys the law regarding quotas, doe's not mean that you are saving anymore animals. It just mean's that other countries are legally fishing to higher quotas.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy No, because one country obeys the law requiring quotas is one country closer to the problem being solved. Since quotas aren't being observed by everyone they must be enforced. If government isn't going to enforce them, and government is a terrible organization to rely upon to get things done, then we rely on civil action to get the job done. There is no such thing as perfect enforcement and that's never a valid reason not to have enforcement or to fail to support it.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@sgtrummy Because they're a non-violent activist organization, they lack the brute force or deadly violence that governments use when dealing with each other and thus, the results are disruptive more than absolute. You're not going to sink the fleet overnight but SSCS has already succeeded in driving them into the red, and if it weren't for the hapless Japanese taxpayers duped into subsidizing the fleet it would have already been sunk long ago.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp I know you can't sink a fleet overnight, but 35 years is taking the piss
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy You need to do the slightest bit of homework on the history of Sea Shepherd before you come here trying to spread inaccurate information that they've been fighting Japanese whaling in the Antarctic for 35 years. If they were, even the Japanese taxpayers would have grown exhausted by now having to pay for these welfare-laden poachers.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp Again you have failed to read and understand basic english. I have never claimed that SSCS have been "fighting" the Japanese since 1977. I only said they have been around since that date. And since you said they had been around since the 80's i think it is you who has to do his homework.
sgtrummy 1 month ago

@sgtrummy Yes you did, you claimed exactly that when you said "They have been around since 1977 and haven't stopped the japanese. They might very well have disrupted a small part of the fleet, but they have not stopped it. If after 35 years, you haven't managed to stop it (the Japanese), then you must be doing something wrong."
You had or still have no knowledge of the history. It has nothing to do with organization and has everything to do with the fact that they weren't there.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@sgtrummy This would be more the equivalent of Japanese fishermen traveling to oceans near the coastline of Scotland and fishing there. The Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary is 7,000 miles away from Japan so it isn't "their waters" whatever that means. Please take a picture of yourself on your boat holding a piece of paper with "heymisterderp" written on it and then I'll take your personal claims seriously.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp I don't care that much about this debate to go to the effort of doing what you ask. Also, you can choose not to listen to me and ignore my comments, but at the end of the day, you will just do what every other hippie doe's when someone with experience give's a reasoned argument. you'll ignore it and keep making stupid comments. What makes you such an expert on this topic anyway?
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy I don't claim to be an expert, that's your shtick. If you're going to resort to such logic as appealing to yourself as your own authority, then emailing me a picture of you and your "fleet" would be required for me to hold you in the light you want to stand in. This isn't about me. Usually the conversation turns personal when ideas run out. Fortunately I'm here to discuss ideas and issues, not the individuals welcomed here to discuss those ideas and issues.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp I also put the word fleet in brackets as i felt it was too grand a term to use to discribe a group of 3 boats. I have never claimed to have authority in this arguement, you took that into it. Also, i have not claimed to be an expert I have only stated my opinion. your the one getting all worked up about it.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy Of course you claimed to be an expert. You said "I have 2 large fishing boats (10 man crews) and a small (4 crew) fisher, I own a business and I hire my crew and I command my "fleet". I think If anyone is qualified to comment on this video, it's me." According to you, you're the most qualified person there is, so if you're not an expert nobody is. I'm not worked up about anything I'm just reading what you write. What word you feel is too grand is just rhetoric.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp Yes I meant qualified respectivly, as in out of you and me, and the other guy, I am the most qualified. I never claimed to be an expert, i merely said i was qualified to make an informed comment. And telling you the facts I have at my disposal i.e my business, is a way of confirming that i am the most qualified in this argument. At no point did i say i was an expert on this topic. Also, i find it hard to listen to a man who clearly has no respect for the lifeguard.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy Ok so don't deny the fact that you claim to be an expert again. An expert is always the most qualified. Unfortunately everyone's a hero or expert on a Youtube video comments section so appealing to yourself is the lamest logical fallacy you can stoop to. That I'm even giving you a chance at proving yourself to send a photo to me via email is giving you a wider berth than you probably deserve. Conversely, if you have no expertise you're not more qualified than anyone.
heymisterderp 1 month ago

Therefore, appeal to knowledge to determine right or wrong.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp So you are telling me you want to have a photo of someone holding your username and claiming to be on a boat? Me doing that is no evidence at all. The only way you could tell i was on a boat is if you saw a wide angle shot of me, actually on a boat. And since i am 21 miles off the east coast of Scotland, i don't think you'll be getting that anytime soon. I am only more qualified then you because it is obvious you have never set foot on a boat for any length of time.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy The photo would show someone on a boat, not "claim" someone is on a boat. And so yes; that would suffice. It's not proof as proof goes, but it is evidence and I'll accept that low standard for it, just for you.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@sgtrummy How is it obvious where I haven't set foot?
If you're 21 miles off the east coast of Scotland you're not in Scottish waters and that's exactly where the Japanese fishermen would be fishing you out of business. When it's your habitat that's being invaded you'll wear that shoe on the right foot so you can start to care about it. Also, being 21 miles off the coast of Scotland, you should get yourself a camera. Consider it your "crew"'s expense account.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@sgtrummy Wide angle lens? Please! Any photo showing you on the deck with the water behind you will suffice. What a pathetic excuse to worm your way out of a very simple task of proving your fabulous claims made anonymously here. Appeal to something else. Like a dictionary or an encyclopedia which are actual authorities over us all worth appealing to. Good luck.
heymisterderp 1 month ago
@heymisterderp At the end of the day, i don't have to prove anything to you. The last thing i want is a bunch of hippies turning up in my home port, protesting and being disruptive. Fishing has been around long before you idiots and will continue to be here when we are all dead and buried. So get a life and stop preaching to people about how they should veiw things. And before you say anything, remember that i gave my opinion and because you disagree, you started this arguement.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
I think this guy should focus on having a crew that can sail his boats properly before he starts talking about how he's winning the war. Also, it can't be a war if one side (Japanese) is winning without doing anything. Thats not a war, its a joke. Fuck paul and his crew of morons. He wouldnt have lost a boat if he focused on training.

@sgtrummy Sadly someone doesn't understand the concept of a rogue wave....
But thats fine. Ignorance is bliss I guess
revron77 1 month ago
@revron77 I don't think that you can claim that rogue wave's are the cause of his crew breaking equipment, destroying launch craft and basically not being fully trained. I happen to be a serving RNLI seaman, and its people like this guy and you, who think that to go to sea is easy and requires no thought or training. But i'm sure sitting at your computer it is easy to judge. Myself and other sailors don't pass judgement when we are in the North Sea saving idiots like you.
sgtrummy 1 month ago
@sgtrummy
Please save me some time and don't reply.. your pervious comment already has my gut hurt from laughing...
revron77 1 month ago

The day your hit by one will be the day you understand your incompetence
revron77 1 month ago
@revron77 At no point in this "back and forth" we've been having, have i ever said that there is no such thing as a rogue wave. I know they are real. You've created this argument and your main and only point is that rogue wave's are real, which is something nobody is denying. I am pointing out that his crew are poorly trained. If you had used your time in replying to read and understand all comments made, i might have taken you more seriously, but after these last comments i won't

MetalAngel2004 1 year ago
@MetalAngel2004 Then you're reading the wrong things. Would you die to save an innocent endangered whale? He would, so would his crew. The man is a living legend, and he's done no wrong, only the a-holes on here posting ignorance and stupidity have, and eventually karma will come round for them...

Eatmybologna 1 year ago
@rayner3959 So far I've seen that they might need someone who can pilot a helicopter, cook, pilot a ship, fix a ship engine, operate a radio, do some electronics, be a doctor, or speak Japanese. Otherwise you have to be willing to risk your life to save a whale.
bobviously 1 year ago
@bobviously Actually, risking your life for a whale is a prerequisite.
It is the first question Cappy asks if you want to join the crew...
eagleray7 1 year ago

I do not support them at all.
ssteinbeckbb 1 year ago
@ssteinbeckbb Shows how short and narrow minded and sighted you are. No one has EVER been hurt during a SS mission that includes both crew. When your grandchildren or their grandchildren have amazing creatures to observe in person you can thank people like Captain Paul Watson for that.
NJDEVIL91923 1 year ago 12
@NJDEVIL91923 First of all, the whales are not the only beautifull creatures on this planet. Anyway, we have to see this issue from a few differernt angles and it's complicated because the issue contains cultual differences, politics, and scientific matters. When we argue about cultual differences, there is no solution. I understand why you want to support the Sea Sheperd because thier "direct action" is based on liberalism yet it has gone over the line.
ssteinbeckbb 1 year ago
@ssteinbeckbb It doesn't matter whether the whales are the most beautiful beings in the world or not. And this issue has nothing at all to do with liberalism, cultural differences, politics, nor scientific matters. This issue has only to do with saving a precious species. And if the environmentalists had not saved the whales from the early sixties on, then the whales would have already been extinct a long time ago. This issue is about true love and compassion.
NicolaRedwooddforest 1 year ago
@NicolaRedwooddforest Then why don't you save the kangaroos in Aus? They are killing wild kangaroos many of them every year. Nobody has not prooved the whales are endangerd or not yet. It is only a hypothesis. Did not you know that? I need some one who can argue with me LOGICALLY.
ssteinbeckbb 1 year ago
@ssteinbeckbb If you are willing to argue with people logically and not use insults and hate language, than we can talk. I love kangaroos. I love all animals. All living beings need to be loved and protected. I petition for many different species on this planet. I write letters to politicians and judges all the time including for the protection of kangaroos in Australia.
NicolaRedwooddforest 1 year ago
@ssteinbeckbb part 2: Many whale species are at high risk of extinction today. But even if the whales were not at risk of extinction, they are being brutally murdered by harpoons. They suffer horrible pain. That's why we must protect them.
NicolaRedwooddforest 1 year ago
@ssteinbeckbb Actually many whale species have been proved endangered. There is only 2000-3000 blue whales left on the planet. There was once an estimated 300,000. That's just one example. "cultual differences, politics, and scientific matters" Do you actually understand what is happening in the ocean? DO YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND? There wont be any "cultural differences" to be had when everything in the ocean is gone because we will have disappeared as well.
Eatmybologna 1 year ago
@ssteinbeckbb You say that this issue is complicated because it all about culutrual differneces but on that fact you are wrong. The Japanese did not start whaling intill after world war 2 because they need a source of food and the leader who started that program was General Douglas Macarthur of the USA. So this claim that its about Culutral difference is total BS.

Eatmybologna 1 year ago

SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
p.s. dolphins eat seals and turtles too
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
p.s. if you want to address this problem you are going to have to get all those criminal animals (dolphins, sharks, dogs, cats) eating algae and plants because protecting meat eating animals is pure hypocrisy... seals murder fish ..... where is their tofu burger folks, this problem is not easy to solve like you think it is
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
Animals have neither the choice or reasoning to decide whether it is alright to kill another animal. They do it, or they die. They know no different. No human can say this, we can live perfectly healthily without killing or exploiting animals, but continue to do it purely for its pleasures.
TheCite 1 year ago
@TheCite Complete lies and bull. Dogs that are well fed at home will kill mice and birds/goose even if they are already well fed and need no food. They do it for pleasure I have personally witnessed a dog slaughter and taunt several different animals - and this is no bad dog, it's considered good in society and well raised. I have also had friends tell me their dog killed a goose, frog, mouse, and did not eat it but purely killed it for pleasure
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
dogs and other animals such as lions will kill and taunt/slaughter animals when they do not have to do this - and dolphins if they are so damn smart like you say they are, then why aren't they vegans if they are so smart, they can eat algae and plants in the ocean and stop the murders and species-ism
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
if dolphins are so stupid that they have no idea about cruel killings and if dogs are also that stupid, then protecting such stupid idiotic creatures is a complete waste of time - they are scum and retarded. It's like protecting maggots or bacteria because you think they have a right to be stupid
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
and if they aren't going to stop the murders themselves then you as a vegan better teach them with your little electric devices to hook up to their brains - tthis world is not as easy as a problem to solve as you think
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
So basically you're telling me that the dog has the power to ignore all of its natural instincts, and realise that it is morally wrong to kill animals?
TheCite 1 year ago
@TheCite so basically what you are saying is that a dog that kills other animals in society even if it is not going to eat the animals, is something you as a vegan want to encourage and support? Personally I think it would be better if you shot the dog, ate it, and let animals like pigs survive.. and horsese, and cows
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
And I'm seriously asking you to consider this not just joking... if you truly want to see your vegan ways you're going to have to address the problem as a whole, not just as a human but as a whole. This whole planet needs to change and you need to encourage NON violent animals to survive while the violent ones die out. Sad but true - sacrifices need to be made just like dinosaurs were no goood. Cats, dogs, are just old dinosaurs with sharp teeth. Also birds that kill worms... no good...
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
@SeeProfileForDetYou're telling me that seeing as other animals (including carnivorous animals that must kill to survive), cannot understand that it is morally incorrect to kill other animals, then it is alright for humans to do so, who do understand that it is incorrect. I guess by that line of reasoning, humans should also be able to rape and murder fellow humans, seeing as animals can't understand that that's wrong either?ails
TheCite 1 year ago
@TheCite you tell me why good
dogs don't rape then. Why? why
do they not do that? if they have
no morals why do they not rape
other dogs in town often? They do
that rarely. Sometimes, but rarely.
Dogs do have little moral systems of their own. Dogs can be taught
and bred NOT TO KILL too.
Since it is so deep into their system, honestly the most efficient thing would be to kill all dogs and replace them with cute pigs and bunnies.......
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
But no matter how hard you try to get rid of all the dogs that kill and replace them with vegan dogs, eventually some other cruel creature will come back and eat that creature to rule the world, because too many pests exist on the earth and somehow they must be gotten rid of. If you just kill the pests and don't eat them, then it goes to waste... so... it is NOT AN EASY PROBLEM TO SOLVE TRUST ME I HAVE THOUGHT LONG ABOUT IT ALL
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
-All animals rape, consensual sex is a foreign concept in the animal kingdom.
-As far as we know, no other animals on earth use symbolic language, ethics are an abstract concept depending on symbolic language. Your dog can be taught to do this and that through training, but it is the human who is forcing their ethics upon him. Left to its own accord, a dog like all animals, does not comprehend ethics, they go by what is natural to them.
TheCite 1 year ago
@TheCite all animals rape! you are a fucking idiot... not worth arguing with ! females submit when they prop their ass up in the air and beg the male to come and insert his dick.... again I cannot argue with someone so stupid as you, you ar ea c omplete tool and retard. TheCite 2 years ago
@TheCite killing a mouse and not eating it is equivalent and even worse than rape - the dog is a criminal. What use does it have in your vegan world? it's like bacteria in your mouth -0 why put up with that cruelty? you let bacteria live or no? it is scum
SeeProfileForDetails 1 year ago
You're telling me that animals have the capability to understand ethics. Domesticated animals such as dogs and cats should be prevented from killing wild animals in the first place. You didn't answer my question - seeing as animals rape and murder each other, does that not make it acceptable for humans to do so as well?
TheCite 1 year ago

HerosComment 2 years ago
And yes, I am a hypocrite too I guess, I do eat meat and I can't stand to see how our food is treated before it gets to my plate, it disgust me, if everyone seen this on National TV, meat sales would go down dramatically. Lets work on scientific ways to create our food without killing animals that is all I can say. It's one of them strange and difficult causes to defend really but lets don't kill these beautiful huge mammals. There is just some beauty you should just leave be. Tough Issue!
HerosComment 2 years ago
