gah im a sucha messed up state, i have a vanguard but ive always been a healer in wow and commando sounds like the way to go, although vanguard does seem pretty awesome. No idea what to choose :(

I just healed Hammer Station and at the last boss my tank and one of my dps died so I had to heal myself and another dps to kill the final boss plus extra mobs that come on you

@fishy196 Yes. I hit level 50 last week (after taking about a break of three weeks) and I leveled up there using the Combat Medic tree. For the most part, easy.

@fishy196 SWTOR healing is just as hard as any other game. It becomes drastically more difficult when you get past level 25 or so. This is a level 15/16 dungeon. She basically has 2 heals to use, and one doesn't cost any type of resource (the green beam). This is because it heals like shit until later on, but then it never actually is "uber". The point of it is to keep the target ok while the resources restock. She doesn't use mana, she uses ammo cells for abilities.

@Fingered22 Bounty Hunters can also be a healer, as Mercenary. If you are trying to tank as a Mercenary in SWTOR, you are failing. If you are trying to tank as a Powertech specialized in Shield, and you find it not great, then you are terrible and failing. Powertechs are incredible tanks.

Nice healing :3 I healed the first flashpoint on my BH (was lvl 12) but it felt really natural ^^ Dont have healing experience with smuggler/IA so cant say. But as far as I know, they rely on HoTs a lot ^^ But yea, really similar to ammo/heat mechanic =)

Btw it was nice to hear a female voice for a change :D Usually only guys make vids like this ;)

It seems like trooper handles the same as BH ^^

@setakh They sure do! I do eventually want to make a Trooper Vanguard and then a Bounty Hunter. I got to make a BH during a beta weekend. Pistols can be cool, but I'm favoring my BFG at the moment!

Did you happen to try out Smuggler healing? If so, did you notice any major difference between the two? I hadn't had a chance to try out higher level Trooper healing as of yet.

@Haasth22 Nah, I haven't tried out the other healing classes. I attempted to make a Sage but couldn't make it passed level 5. Have you healed as a smuggler? I'd like to hear how it sounds. My friend's playing a Scoundrel but isn't healing. From what I've heard, however, they appear pretty similar in healing mechanics.

@RepublicTurds Yeah, I had a Smuggler up to level 20 during the test weekend. The cover from the Smuggler doesn't seem very beneficial during flashpoints because you stand up during casting anyway. The resource system is essentially the same but with different numbers as well. Wish I had the time to try out the Trooper to get an actual comparison between the two but they seem very similar at lower levels. I think later the Trooper goes more shield healing and Smuggler more HoTs though.

@MmoGameZone Yeup! You can spam Hammershot on an enemy and still get the 30 charges you need to use Supercharge Cells, or any of your other abilities depending on the situation and your ammo.

@GeneralVolkov I'm not sure there's much more variety than this. We get three more healing abilities IIRC: an aoe heal, instant cast heal, a 1.5 sec heal, and something similar to the Shaman's doodoo shield from WoW, if you've played it. Doodoo shield meaning Earth Shield. The 1.5 sec heal, which I think is called Advanced Medical Probe, is the only one of those that you don't get from the CM tree.

@RepublicTurds - Um, not only "just choose" Commando. In Commando AC you still can be DPS - you have Combat Medic talent tree there, but also Gunnery talent tree.

@ZedZed89 I think it's fairly obvious you have to go into the Combat Medic tree to improve your healing. But if you only want the heal per se, you have to choose Commando, which is what I thought he meant. I only had 4 points in CM at the time.

@lvowell Nah, no ammo. It's just an out of combat animation for replenishing your resources. Pretty much the equivalent of eating and drinking in any other MMO.

@Lumipon It pretty much was, though the last boss had me on full alert. The only real "cumbersome" part was managing my ammo. Having a decent tank helped a lot.
