  • I say this... the places i have been and the being i have met were with the aid of DMT... Hell that is when I met Babaji... thank you for this...

  • mushrooms and terence saved my life

  • god is good..

  • Take what resonates with you and expand THAT. The messages from McKenna, Bashar, and others have assisted me in stepping in front of my ego and working with it. It's the message that's important. Mind over matter? Mind IS matter. The mind is finite. The heart is infinite. Live from the heart. Good vibrations. :-)

  • Actually the internet is the new boob tube. Mushrooms ate this guys brain and now he's preaching? Now that is hysterical.

  • God bless you, Terrence McKenna.

  • If you don't mind me asking, what is the name of the song in the background?

  • The world's best kept secret ....

  • i think it can be done naturally..and i think he was being a little bit silly about saying if i can't wake up and tell myself i've taken mushrooms......because when it happens naturally in the body without a substance...those visions usually only happen when you meditate....you can humble yourself either way...you can "control" how long you want to do it in meditation...with mushrooms you gotta wait and see XDXDDXD it's all preference, but brings you to the same place....<3 <3 <3 <3 so much love

  • @TheUniversalOcean Well, this is a video of McKenna, giving McKennas's opinion - and he stated several times that he found meditation boring, or at best not at all anything like the psychedelic experience. He saw meditation as emptying the mind of content, and psychedelics as filling the mind with new ideas from a kind of exos-domain. It would actually imply that these two things aren't mutually exclusive. One frees up space, the other fills it with alien information.

    Love <3

  • @TheUniversalOcean

You can't. That's why shaman and other spiritual gurus insist on taking them, if they could rely on meditation alone it wouldn't be necessary.

  • astonishing

  • terrence says salvation becomes obscene. on an individual basis, he let it become obscene to him. there is salvation offered by those that don't know, then there is the salvation terrence offers himself, which is also probably lacking, mine included, otherwise i'd be free.

  • using drugs is just another way to fool ourselves we're happy,

  • @akraphotography thats reductive and generalized to the point of absurdity, and also incorrect

  • @SpectralTempest

your quest in life is to seek happiness.

drugs brings you pleasure which lasts x amount of time

happiness is long term and sustainable

what you focus on is what you create, focus on a bad world live in a bad word

be the change u would like to see in the world and that is the world you will live in

stop searching for external answers when you can find the answers within

  • @akraphotography nicely put, thankyou

  • Terrence McKenna and Alan Watts talk a whole lot of sense. what they say isn't easy to realise or put into practuce, but it makes a whole lot of sense.

  • 4.26 "Discombobulated" is the word of the week.;-)

  • anyone else suspect that terence is stoned during this lecture? His eyes look like the eyes of a man who just smoked 3 blunts

  • amazing video. well done

  • yes. the self is not sufficient.

  • An interesting thought on the premise of Salvation. Whats to be done? Recycle, wear green and break laws. Be un-moralistic, but ethical.

I recued a baby sparrow from a dog a week ago. It's illegal to keep wild animals in my country, and i'm not allowed to release it (Moral law). But I saved it (Ethical law), Turn your back on culture! Culture is your enemy!

  • I want to sit around a campfire dressed like an indian

  • i found some mushrooms the other day it was probably less than a gram because i didnt really feel anything. i am still disappointed

  • Nice vid! :) Good message.

  • drug abuse? Weed, LSD, Shrooms and DMT wont do anything to you except enhancing your mind to become more aware of whats actually going on in this world that we live in, and maybe other worlds

  • does it not occur to folks who put up these videos of mckenna that you are promoting drug abuse to children?

  • @popstone1 Just stop what you are doing. I've only seen you in 2 vids of Mckenna and you are not smart, clever of funny. Just stop promoting your idiot ideas. He is NOT promoting drugs abuse.

  • @texasB666 are we talking about the same terence mckenna? what exactly do you think he is doing? i am not interested in being smart clever or funny. i am doing exactly what a sane person should do, i am attacking the teachings of this evil clown and raising a contrary voice to his poison. and ever single mckenna video is promoting DRUG ABUSE to CHILDREN. who else do you think would ever take this clown seriously?

  • @popstone1 Your viewpoints are not welcome. You attack him for no reason. Have you ever done ayahuasca? Have you ever delved into his teachings or books? Do you know he has a brother? I'm not trying to force my believes onto yours. But you shouldn't put your believes on this vid. Keep em to yourself. I really doubt some 10 your old kid will question "Mmmm i feel like doing some drugs. I'm going to listen what Mckenna has to say." It doesn't work that way. So again. Stop what you're doing.

  • @texasB666 i've actually listened to his crap quite extensively. i've listened to him enough to know that his rap is very persuasive. but his eloquence doesn't make him right. he is leading young people into drug use and that is a crime.

  • @ajones123ful It depens what you see as "drugs". People should be responsible for what they do, what drugs they take and what they think. Its called freedom. I've done drugs. Am i an addict or an ogre? No. I'm not. Hundreds of years ago slaves were used for sugar and coffee. Now it seems common doesn't it? They are also drugs but i guess you think they don't harm us? You know starbucks? the crimes are implaced by governments. Don't blame the drug.

  • @texasB666 Good points, tex.

  • @Marleyites I don't really remember what i said or typed but i'm sure it was pretty wise ^^ (i'm merely shittin you :) i don't know)

  • @ajones123ful no he isn't- he is giving his opinion. He never talks about being right.you are missing the point.Do you understand thAT our society pushes drugs ever day ie: cigarettes, alcohol and coffee to name just 3- soda is worse than many drugs and is a drug in itself- prescription medication is frightful. open your mind, but while you are doing that let go of the many preconceived notions you have- we all have them and have to let go- direct experience is the only way-

  • @gumbyonacid Dude, i also tried to talk some sence into some guys on this vid and its impossible...

  • @texasB666 i know it is....just figured i'd say it anyway.... :) peace

  • @texasB666 yeah, it doesn't work that way? how exactly does it work, how did it work for you to become so deluded as to think you should put this video up where kids can see it?

  • @popstone1 Why don't addopt a crackbaby if you are so worried. Jesus Christ... you don't make any sence. You sound like that woman from the Simpsons who always yells 'WIll Someone please think of the children!' What are these kids doing in the east of Africa then? Millions of people are starving. Millions of kids are starving. And you worry about a youtube video where a botanist talks about drugs? you are pathetic. I'm through with you. Don't message me again.

  • @popstone1

Kids are baby goats. I don't think they'll have any interest in this video.

If you're talking about children or youth, what's wrong with this video for them? I can't imagine very young would be interested in the topic at all. Anyone old enough that has interest, let them hear it. Can't be any worse than propaganda taught at so-called schools.

  • @texasB666 but texas, you have put your "believes" out here in public. and you thought no one would ever disagree, i guess. that's one thing about you mckenna disciples - y'all get all itchy when someone criticises him. it's because deep inside there is a part of you that knows he ain't rightsome component of your inner self that smells his lies.

but anyway, you've put this out in public and therefore i have the right to disagree and attack your lying drug messiah. and i will.

  • @popstone1 First of all: i'm no McKenna disciple. And second of all: you are right. More power to you.

  • @popstone1

I don't think McKenna cares for drugs at all. I heard him last night talk about how he feels it important to use plants not drugs.

  • @popstone1

using plants is NOT drug abuse. shamanic plant use is not drug abuse.

  • what lecture is this from?

  • Cool, Terence and Papaji in 1 video mentioned. Nice!

  • Such a great video, I used the same excerpt from terence on my video... amazing work, amazing work...

  • mckenna and solar fields.... the two geniuses match well :)

  • @PsyPhiRevolution I've always looked at it differently. I honestly think he served his purpose here on Earth. I can't even begin to fathom what it took to have the memory he had, his ability to articulate ideas, and the knowledge he spread through a countless number of talks (like this one). I think a great afterlife (some call it heaven) lay beyond his life here. I don't know why he passed from a brain tumor, but I personally think if he was meant to stay here he would have.

  • Terence was a genius.

  • Why must this man be dead? God how we need him now. I want to lead a movement to get people to end this consumeristic, materialistic, individualistic, self-righteous nature of society but what would McKenna say? How do we do this? The human experience could be enhanced if we embraced this humility... But who will listen to me??? How do we tell people about what they're missing? Everyone can be an artist, everyone can be a spiritual leader or a healer. We don't have to settle for this...

  • @VooDooLynx I like this man's thinking too

  • @VooDooLynx I agree, Terence said this would be done by stealth which is precisely what is happening through the internet now. Let's just hope it wakes enough people up before it's too late. One fact which Terence and many others have said is humans don't have the answer, nature does, and until we return to putting nature of man back into nature, the crap will continue.

  • @tonytg909 ---UNFORTUNATELY THAT WILL BE THE CASE I BELIEVE !

  • @tonytg909 "They" have spent the last 3000+ YEARS separating us from nature, and the divine feminine with equal vigor; starting with f*king up our calendar taking it away from the moon and into their CONTROL system!

Few people can recognize how important this seemingly minor change was in creating this separation with ALL THAT IS NATURAL!

We KILL our food and the very bacteria that help to nourish our children under the FACADE of 'helping'!

(It seems insane except from the elite lens!)

  • @UnoRaza I agree, I didn't realise just how much impact any calendar system has on society, until you stop a think about it a little, after studying the Mayan calendar and the way they used it to affect their lives, our calendar seems just based around money and hypocracy.

  • 7 people can't humble themselves to the point of saying they need spiritual help from something that grows out of cow shit.

  • I miss Terrence! :(

  • PLEASE tell me what's the first track in the background music. second was solar fields I think... or it's the same ? -awesome- upload

  • why do all the great minds die young? RIP Terence McKenna and Carl Sagan

  • all i hear is the fucking stuipid ass music

  • 6 people need a cow flop

  • Terrance Kc Kenna is pure thought... Philip K Dick is not that far off the mark either.

  • I think we should start a movement. Anyone with a free mind should join in the start this movement. Our environment is in crisis - we have to do something.

  • @VooDooLynx

    Try searching on Zeitgeist movement.

  • @VooDooLynx

I am from belgium, a last year student in a master economics... and I feel that there too few people aware of the things that are happening... and I wanted to look on forums and stuff to get people together... but they are still hard to find... here in belgium... I think that everyone should listen to what terence has to say because... gosh, he is truly such a great figure...

Mijn naam is Robin Pannemans. Chille foto (kan niet missen)

  • @texasB666 awesome. Ik heb u toegevoegd. Join the club. Get in.

  • Where this video was taken from?

  • R-Evolution has started. Check

    watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w

Love for Mckenna everywhere he is

  • Dig yr vid

  • Nicely done.

  • I can't afford the high price of salvation

  • @85226 lmao

  • @85226 It costs nothing my friend. Fear of the price is part of the illusion people are caught in. Forgive yourself, forgive others, recognise your ego thinking and meditate. Its really not as hard as some think. Good luck in your quest for peace.¸*♥♥♥♥*

  • I LOVE terence, i wish he was alive more than anyone :(

  • This is the most well put together Mckenna video ive seen.

  • Why do these kinds of people continually die of some form of cancer or the other (dont say smoking weed cause Marley had cancer in his foot)

  • originality iike this is hard to come by

  • Hi Gaia, that's the marker, as u just put it, " he died of a brain tumor " and it was'nt to his liking ! Terrence is spot on in his " Call to ATTENTION " then he fails on the how to get to " the WAY OUT "

  • Hi Gaia, that's the marker, as u just put it, " he died of a brain tumor " and it was'nt to his liking ! Terrence is spot on in his " Call to ATTENTION " then he fails on the how to get " The WAY OUT " he 's so right when there's a million ways out one can't afford them " not " to be " The WAY OUT " and that's why we can't afford them because NONE of them are the way out. Not that the way out is free and u don't turn ur back on society u become the solution and when people see it works they join

  • Its scares the fuck out of me how many apes wear ties.

  • Track is Air song by Solar Fields.

  • @Metknot666 yeah but music behind tmk's speeches blows

  • @Mckennawasright Normally I agree and wouldnt let people know what the track was. This however is an epic song.

  • Soooo Damn True!

  • Wonderful , Listening to Terence, is cheering and inspireing. Thanks for the vidieos;-)

  • wonderful video, well done! =]

  • to understand mckennas psychedelic use you must de condition yourself to anything you think you now about drugs. 5 gram psilocybin voyage would probobaly do the trick for ya, it did for me.

  • 5 grams P. cubensis is a lot different than 5 grams of psilocybin, that's about 350 times the average dose.

  • what's the music??

  • This is right. I wonder how Mr. McKenna is doing

  • @ Colt:

There is absolutely NO WAY to reach this plateau w/o the use of a psychoactive substance such as psilocybin. This is what it means to be embodied by "the holy ghost",

and afterwards, you will be REBORN

  • Terence Mckenna has shown us the door but we must have the courage to pass through it. Honor the felt presence of direct experience and reflect love in everything you do.

  • McKenna was a genius but his solution was flawed, psychadelics isn't the answer bc its still looking for the answer. if you're looking you will always be looking. desire for anything is the cause of all suffering. salvation cannot be "found" because you already have it, right this very second, you're just not paying attention. you are whole, complete, perfect right now, just by your beingness...the fact that you exist. pure awareness is the bliss everyone has every second.

  • @Colt2571 u hit the nail on th head

  • @Colt2571

mckenna's message on taking psychedelics isn't about finding the answer, the purpose of taking psychedelics is to explore a completely different world that exist out of sight, in other words psychedelics are supposed free your mind from ordinary culture and reality.

watch the video titled: the purpose of psychedelics

  • @ThePsychedelicBanana you can free your mind from culture and reality without substances...i've already done that. unfortunately most people do not follow McKenna's method and take psychadelics because they want to escape reality...and escaping reality is not the answer...the way out is through, to quote a NIN song. reality is the thing, there is nothing wrong with it, its our egoic interpretation of reality that makes us want to escape it. like i said most people want escape.

  • @Colt2571

And you could be looking for an answer by telling us your answer in the hopes you feel better about it.

Looking for answers isn't the only reason to do psychedelics.

  • the answer is no answer...become aware of pure awareness, which is the nothingness that everything comes from...awareness doesn't get tired, hungry, angry or sad...it is always there, waiting for you to become aware of it and one with it...this is the end of suffering. to become aware of pure awareness, youtube search: "quantum entrainment"...watch and learn.

  • life is shit...psychedelics make it worth living

  • @ThePsychedelicBanana what if you were trapped on an island and had no more access to drugs? what would you do?

  • @Colt2571

    i would figure something out...eventually

  • @ThePsychedelicBanana there's nothing to figure out...you will always be trying to figure it out, because there is no "answer", its just the ego trying to find something to do. notice how no one ever seems to "figure it out", bc there is no figuring anything out. you are whole, complete, perfect all the time, it's just mind's tendency to create duality in the world, good/bad, rich/poor, etc...thats the illusion

  • @Colt2571

I really think what your saying makes sense and that its valid, but when i take psychedelics it's not because i wan't to figure something out it's because i wan't to explore an unfamiliar world. dmt is so intense that it can actually eradicate your ego, they call it ego death. our ego creates culture and duality, to put a halt on that we must suppress it. impede its function so to speak. when you have and ego death you feel the overwhelming sense of unity with everything around you.

  • I like how he doesn't try to spread love and peace for a 5 buck hit of LSD like some other people in the 60's did. He is spreading awakening.

  • very good point he makes about achieving a "higher level of awareness" naturally. If you could do that you would probably go insane. Definitely need a "marker".

  • "The ego will not suffice."

Rarely have any series of words affected me like these probably have.

  • I feel like a goddamn kindergarden teacher in this world. Get your brains out of your asses and lets try to make sense of this while we can.

  • @CantWeedThis can't even tell you how strongly i feel that way

  • Respond to this video... one of the few terence videos where i think the music was a nice supplement :)

  • how does this video not have hundreds of millions of views?

  • Incredible

  • I just got the ending: "The happy people around the campfire."

  • This is a really nice video and a great speech. Much love on the path:)

  • Great video and speech.

Thanks a lot. TM is my hero.

  • This is such an excellent work! Thanks and namaste. . .

  • Buchansreet..... Dude. You are eating from the tree of knowledge. Your suppose to make it grow.

  • He is talking about when your sober retard. Like meditate and astral project. It can't be done. You need a portal. A psychadelic. You see?

  • superb

  • i disagree in the question if you can get yourself into "modus" only by yourself. if done it several times. its a other experience than on mushrooms but one time i got so high, it was like near death or some would call it "god"experience. i only was one time so high and i think unless i start training myself to get high againe i will never go there againe :)

but please correct my if i missunderstand this, because ego itself can not con itself ?! "the single biggest con" u know?

  • whats the big difference between THIS dude and the >CONSUMER MASSES when HE himself murdered himself by DRUGS ? all he is is a bit more sophisticated and eloquent but at the end he is also a consumer an has no answers

  • what kind of answers are you looking for then?

  • view the masses and do the opposite!

  • very cool video and the message is very true indeed

  • Oh yeah, I like the music and think it resonates with his message! Whwhwhweeeeeehehe

  • Namaste.

  • great video, love the end scene around the fire. amazing. where did you get it?

  • I'm happy listening to McKenna with music or without...the guy who put this piece to music was doing for those that like it with music, I guess...I didn't feel there was anything disrespectful in that :-))

  • The person who combined the recording of the speech of Terence McKennas with the audio of a musical track has entirely missed the point of Terence McKenna in the most infantile way.

  • what's the fuss. Music is just music, however you might interpret it culturally.

  • To say "Music is just music" is willful ignorance. This music inhibits the understanding of the spoken word in this audio, quite apart from my original point.

  • I kinda begin to see your point, seeing as how the music is "new age" and optimistic, with the spoken word being quite the contrary. Besides that, I think there's still room for interpretation of the words. Could you please elaborate on yours?

  • @mkklmann Hi. Well, I simply think that if one has any respect for such an, obviously intelligent and well read man and his cogent and (to him) reasoned lectures; then moody, atmospheric music is first, entirely unnecessary and secondly rather insulting to viewer and speaker. Put more simply it is patronising. Put personally, it is tacky.

  • Yeah, but I didn't feel it as much a lecture as an inspirational speach or something.. The medium is the message. YouTube is a funny place. Peace

  • i usually don't like it when they overlay music too because it drowns out mckennas voice, but the music in this particular video seems fitting.

  • Comment removed

  • what's that beautiful track playing in the background?

  • @herbalvegas

    Solar Fields - Air Song

  • @koffiegeit

    thank you

  • I think that the term "real" and "time" only matter in our minds. You dont see animals worrying about time or anything really but instinct. I think if we followed are instincts instead of society that the world could be a better place. Its just all one thing that we just cant comprehend until we are ready.

  • @HIM47

I think I'd have to disagree with the assertion on animals. Animals may not worry about time, but I'm pretty sure at some point they are aware that not all events of their life are happening simultaneously in front of them. If they weren't aware of that I have no idea how a predator would be able to hunt successfully

  • @xxSpearMonkeyxx Thats a good point. I suppose animals can have a vague sense of time working on the way the sun moves. Instinctively they know when the sun goes up and their stomach aches they need food. What I was really trying to get at is human beings always need to be here and there, they can't just stop for one second and enjoy whats in front of them. Including myself, I to rush around at times. But if you really think about it whats the point. Are you in a hurry to die?

  • @HIM47 Look around and and enjoy the journey.

  • @HIM47

Ah yeah, I'd definitely agree with that. Sadly I think some are in fact in a hurry to die just as a result of knowing nothing else but what the culture has taught them :/ I feel you on this one though

  • @xxSpearMonkeyxx Well its a sad sad world sometimes, but what you gonna do right? Anyways glad we had this little convo. Stay frosty my friend.

  • Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

  • this is fantastic. not only is the speech a new one I hadn't heard, but your choice of video and editing are top tier.

  • i've heard Terrence speak many times, but never knew what he looked like 'til now. thnks for the vid.

  • I don't buy into this notion that the psychedelic experience opens up your mind to new streams of consciousness, hidden dimensions of truth, or the universe or whatever phenomena proponents like McKenna, Leary, Ram Dass and others purport. The "experience" is nothing more than a temporary psychosis, nothing more. Whatever epiphany is realized during the experience is not trustworthy revelation that should be a guide for your life.

  • @jtravis282 it is very obvious that you have never.

  • @jtravis282 I agree to some sense, people tend to make a prophet out of these substances (not that I think I prefer human prophets)...

It probably takes a lot more than just a meatbag ingesting a psychedelic to get something ''great'' out of it... But I bet you if it doesn't (with high enough doses) make you question enough things to make possible for groundbreaking thoughts. It's a step at least.

  • @jtravis282 Of course it's not to realistic to believe the Machine Elves etc. truly exist outside your mind.

But neither old myths, astrology, the psychedelic experience, or even philosophy and psychology to a large degree...needs to be 'real'.

Just because they most likely are fictional or simply not based on hard and fast fact, doesn't mean they can't teach you anything, can't make you think in new ways.

  • How do you know until you try?

  • ΩΩΩ˜˜ˆı††‡‡•±•••±••ΩΩΩ...

  • lol then you are not experienced. and if you were you would know exactlywhat its all about

  • and you dont need to buy into it in the first place thats not the game you experience it for yourselve
