This game was realeased in Spain and Latin America in Spanish fully translated, manual, text and voices by Zeta Multimedia (Zeta Games) which today is closed but in those years from 1995 to 2003 had published a lot of software including games like those which never was very known. I had a copy of this game in Spanish but I sold It in 2005. Now Im trying to find It again.
The funny thing is that we had an almost finished English version of this game. But our ex-publisher (Russobit-M) didn't find any publishers from the West.
That's pretty sad, i still think this game is one of the best space sims, but underrated for some reasons.
What means "un-released" ??? I bought this game at mediamarkt years ago and had a lot of really good fun with it !! Did they sell me a demo????? I played throug a lot of missions, like 8 or 10, until got stuck in one I couldnt complete. And from were did you get this video? I dont recall seen it in the game. The game itself was pretty much similar to the ""babylon 5 I have found her"" but with much more better combat feeling.
Sorry about that. The description of the video got out of date after I got the game and was told of the truth. The game IS RELEASED. But it seems that HomePlanet is sold only in Russia, and anywhere else where people get it.
I made this video out of the game's trailer ( which you can see in my channel ). I cut it, changed the music, etc.
And "Babylon5: I have found her" is made on the same game engine. Though since I'm not a fan of Babylon5, I never played it. Only HomePlanet.
Oh thanks, that explains all. If only they could release the game with the expansion... this is one of best space combat sims I have played ever. Im glad you managed to enjoy it!
Well, I have it with the expansion. But both are in russian. Though I heard that a fella is making an english patch for the game.
If you want to get the game with it's expansion, PM me.
Oh, and by the way, FreeSpace2 is considered to be the best space combat sim ever made. You should try it, if you haven't had the chance to do so yet. :)
Interesting. I already have freespace2 Open, had a lot of fun with it :) .Im waiting for "beyond the red line" to come out,it looks really impressive. For now, "Orbiter" fills my needs for some space flying since I cant find another newtonian space sim.
Reminds me of homeworld for some reason. One of the best space-sims ever in my opinion. Too bad that game will never be resurected. Space sims are hard to come by as the target audience is too small, however cool they are. It's even harder to find a good one. This game should have been so much more successful.
I have some news though - HomePlanet IS released after all :) ! but only in Russia :( .
And one of the best space sims that I know , is FreeSpace2 SCP ( and I tried both Homeworld games too ) . None of them come even close to FS2 . HomePlanet , however , had a much different style , that was ALMOST as interesting as FS2 .
You know, I've heard loads about FS2, but never played it. Which version is the best to play and I'll give it a go. I know the source code was released and loads of versions made. pls give me a link. Thanks mate.
Go to hard-light productions forums ( you can find it on google ) , go to general discussion , look for the freespace open installer topic ( it's stickied ) , and use the java installer to download it .

@xSunnuSx
You make it sound like you've worked on the game. Or am I assuming wrong?

sigh... mars is all wrong.. the low lands are in the northern hemisphere not southern

Looks like Mars though it actually isn't. Upon playing the game I've seen that it's actually a planet in the Capella system.
