  • Why does the switcher at 1:58 sound like a car?

  • I see that they got another little diesel to help with switching out un-needed cars. When I worked there they had the side-rod Caterpillar RR tractor that is at the Colorado RR Museum now. I ran it as a helper on special trains a couple of times.

  • when was this filmed?

  • I always thought that shays were powered on both sides. Learn sumthin new every day

  • I thought that too when I was little. I always came to roaring camp, and just never saw the other side! To be honest, I didn't know they only had pistons on one side until I got saw a model of one...

If only they did though... 6 pistons... that would pack a punch.

  • Nice music to compliment a great video. Is that Buddy Emmons playing the steel in that song?

  • Dig the blow-downs....

  • Wow! What a great Shay locomotive!

  • Cool!!! I really like the authetic atmosphere you've created with the pace of life being a little slower than what we're used to nowadays! Keep em coming!
