im sure it was sweet for editors that REM covered one of their songs seeing as how they've said they're one of their favourite bands of all time, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's actually a terrible cover of such a special song. about a million miles from the emotion of the original. bland and lame all at the same time. dislike!!

Corinne Bailey Rae does an amazing jazzy cover of this tune. Her version is so passionate. Kudos to the Editors for writing such a prolific song. No version is better/worse than another just different and a matter of the listener's taste.

Okay, it must be an honor for the Editors to have one of their songs covered by R.E.M., but this is overkill - it's more like "how many people can we fit into this studio"?

The R.E.M. of old (pre-Everybody Hurts) would have performed a song like this one with a lot more energy - and fewer sidemen/-women. Why not bring in Eric Clapton to completely destroy this song with an annoying "classic rock" guitar solo? That would have been really funny.

I went to watch rem live and editors supported them that night. After being an rem fan for over 2 decades, i must admit that editors were/are fantastic live and now i love them too. This is a great performance by the legend that is michael stipe.
