  • CMCM make it look so incredibly easy. It's not fair.

  • Precision shouldn't be any problem with 20's, unless your a big puss, also I'd like to say jack Borland, I'm stoked to know that your going to tech spirit this summer and I'm totally trying out.

  • MCM is my favorite world line. each section is just badass.

  • Those pussies are marching with 18" Zildians instiead of a manly 20 or 22.

  • @mobilesuitZer0 #1: Your an idiot (proven by your own videos). #2: Cymbal sizes aren't chosen by how "manly" I want the cymbal line to be perceived by idiots like yourself. We play in an indoor venue and the cymbals are chosen accordingly.

  • @cymcity

hi cymbals shud be chose for versatility, sound production, and visuals.

corp style symbals are a lot more visual than hbcus i gota admit

  • @mobilesuitZer0 What cymbal line in their right mind would march 20s, or even 22s for that matter? It would be almost impossible to get the precise movements out of a 20" pair of cymbals that these guys are doing. You are just stupid.

  • @mobilesuitZer0 I'd like to see you try to do any of the visuals CMCM does you dick! CMCM FTW!!!!

  • 2:27 This is why you're in my book of "Flipping Sweet Cymbal Lines".

  • 2:43 woooooowww soo good

  • is this jack borland that manages this account? if so what did you give matt when he hurt his hands during tour with crossmen would that be able to help with speed and making that a smoother move or what?

  • @demox1321 Nope, not Jack. This is Joel McCauley. Did you try skin lotion?

  • @demox1321 tying the straps inside-out works well too

  • Most amazing cymbal techniques so far, from my point of view.

  • CRAZY TECHNIQUES!!!!!!

  • Yeah I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the advice.

  • So the last question is, how destroyed were your wrists from all those release/reloads? I notice you guys weren't using tape, wrist bands, or anything. I thought about throwing my guys in long sleeved under armor or some thing like a shooters sleeve that point guards wear in basketball. Cause just working on these myself I already have burns all around my wrists.

  • @kissmylowbrass I don't think their wrist every really got destroyed. Eventually your body adapts. It's really no different than developing blisters from doing flips or playing cymbals in general. One thing that we do use that helps is lotion. If you are going to be doing a lot of release/ reloads, you need to have lotion near so that your wrists don't completely dry out. It also helps keeps the straps from sticking. You could also try turning your straps inside out so that the smooth side is in

  • @kissmylowbrass If you try out the shooters sleeve let me know how it goes. I would be interestsed in hearing your results. I've been curious to if that would increase velocity or if it would negatively influence the control of the release/ reload. It's worth a try.

  • @cymcity at escambia this year were wearing long sleeve under armor and jerry had the idea to cut a thumb hole in the sleeve and it help alot with the release reloads. the velocity is great the release reloads have the same control as we had when we didnt use the sleeves with the hole but now the straps dont get twisted and stuck like they occasionally do.I dont know if you guys have experimented with this yet but i thought i should tell you about our results. btw you guys are awesome this year

  • @ehscymbals011 We used them at X this year, however I think they work too well sometimes. I think for moves like release crashes and times when your hands begin to face downward they have the potential to slip right off. But honestly I prefer not using them. I like the natural feeling of the leather on my skin.

  • @CymbalMasta22 I've never had the problem of them feeling like there going to slip off but thats just me cymbals feels different for everyone haha. We didnt really have an option to use the sleeves. We either used them or the sleeves got in the way haha release reloads they work fine with or without the sleeves but can help out if the uniform is getting in the way. check out the escambia video and congrats on your season with X

  • Nvm. The guy closest to the camera is just really selling that flip at :35. And it looks so smooth with so much flip action that I thought you were leaving the straps, but I see it now.

  • @kissmylowbrass You are partially correct. His hands did not leave the straps but it wasn't only a flip. It was a "figure 8". Basically you just flip up, down, and then back up again except we try to minimize the up down motion from our arms and let the wrist and the momentum of the cymbal do the work.. In doing so you get an increased perception of velocity.

  • At :35 on that flip up to the prep for that vert crash, are you guys coming out of the straps and back in? Or is that all wrist action?

  • i see why you are so good! you guys have an asian in your cymbal line! he must have rubbed off his perfection onto you! im just kidding you guys are the best cymbal line i have ever seen in my life. im in a high school winter drumline (im a freshman) and i looked for cool cymbal line stuff to show to the rest of our section, and they totally flipped out when they saw this. you guys are freaking amazing.

  • was this a meh lot run for cymbals? they dont seem to be performing at there full potential. lots of late and sloppy things, very little, not saying they dont rock, just little things here and there

  • wow ... I bet j12mott is some nick cannon wanna be and dosnt know a thing about drumming or what it takes to have the "chops" to play stuff or handle cymbals the way this guys do ... good job ..

  • the end tenor player looks a lot like benny greb. haha.

but other than that, nobody in the history of WGI or DCI can touch this cymbal line.

i also like the splits from the top two basses at 2:47

    NAILED IT

  • my favorite cymbal line of all time!

  • that cymbal wave was the best thing i've ever seen. how long did it take to perfect that?

  • @wolfhearttx It was a work in progress. It was a lot more simple than that originally and as the season went on we kept trying to speed it up so that we can add more to it.

  • 2:42 is sick, man.

  • What kind of pads are the cymbals using?

  • That release and reload at 0:26 is BEASTLY!

  • awesome, I wish my cymbal line could be this good (granted we're middle school & high school, we're not that bad, but still) you guys are awesome

  • :25-:30 was sick

  • This is pretty freaking sweet guys....

  • Lots of hard work and dedication. So proud of you Julian! (cymbal closes to truck)...

  • their so BADASS and amazing every vis is so good

  • the release and reloads at 2:47 were awesome

  • if the cymbal line i was in was like this i might have stayed in drum and bugle corps. it was basicly a line for me and 2 other guys who had come up from the junior corps and wherent good enough for the snare line yet xD

  • In this case it might as well be the other way around :)

  • american cymbal lines are fucking hard core :-D

    especially these guys

  • seeing this live was amazing mcm is the best (in my opinion)

  • cymbal vis SOOOOO bad ass

  • the cymbal line killt it yall are so O.M.F.G the cymbals freakn killt it....

  • hollyy crapp! i LOVE the cymbal visuals

  • 2:44 is ....WOW...its WONDERFULL

  • No, that's Neil. Asian Dave is the asian one.

  • While I'm sure it wasn't your intention, that is one of the best compliments that we could have recieved. Thanks! Perhaps though you could point us in the direction of a "real" drumline so that we know in the future what one looks like.

  • drumline does not only play items that have a groove.

  • This is called indoor percussion, and they're a part of a league called WGI. They consistently place in the top 3 in the world.

"Drumlines", and I'm sure you're referring to the shit lines of bad college, high school, and show bands, are horrible compared to any WGI line. I'd love to see your "drumline" attempt even a single measure that MCM plays.

  • @j12mott you sir are retarded

  • 2:44 is so FUCKING sick

  • one thing i've noticed on this video is that with the four unison crashes 2 of them are with the hand in the strap.?.?....and about that gun vis and the ripple.. wtf?? I think i counted the hands coming out of the strap 4 times? maybe? so clueless... its something i've never seen before.... i truly believe that vanguard is no longer the greatest cymbal line in the world. CMCM has more balls and you can already see other cymbal lines changing their technique this summer...times are changing:)

  • I almost got hit by a cymbal when one of guy's strap broke. Pretty scary to see a cymbal flying at you.

  • Does any one notice that the tenor line uses different carriers in different videos? Or is it just me?

  • Ya, would anybody from CMCM mind shedding some light on how the flips/twirls are done (and so fast) at spots like 0:28 and 0:36, and deefinitely 2:14 - wow. thats an amazing line for sure

  • yeah I can't get the basic idea of 2:14 down either. I can't get my hand into and out of the strap without hurting my thumb.

  • nice!

  • jesus! those are some sick visuals. great job....my jaw dropped

  • wow. what were these guys doing when they invented this? If I were in a world class cymbal line and I saw this I would throw up

  • "That by far beats my High School cymbal line although we do the viper and its pretty cool... Thats the best marching band I have ever seen" Adiala Smith High School Rules!!!!

  • the viper comes no where close to the shit that these guys do

  • look for their 2006 shittin around stuff..... the meat grinder!?!?!?! thats all i can say and oh yeah, they are sick, i know the tenor in red!

  • im going to agree with my colleague her I've seen it done so many times

  • 2:14... how is that even done? I wanna try it but I can't even follow it :(

  • Best cymbal in saw in Dayton this year by far

  • Not that I care what you think but I feel like this can be used as a good educational opportunity.

A Cymbal is not picked for size. It is picked for how it sounds and blends with the ensemble and venue. I choose 18" Viennese because they aren't overpowering or overly bright and have a quick decay. All of which, in my opinion, is important to consider while indoors.

RCC and MCM plates do completely different things. You can't compare them. Appreciate each for what they bring to the table.

  • besides mcm plates would destroy rcc plates any day of the week
