  • theres the modern game where you tackle the ball but if you're average joe playing ameature rugby you aren't going to have the strength to rip the ball. also if you take the legs and have even a half decent technique you will prevent the offload -idontnoapassword- when you have Richie McCaw (IRB player of the year 3x) and theirry dusautoir (IRB player of the year 2011) talckling people round the legs and hips i think you should watch and learn from them rather than being armchair coaches

  • would be good for submission

  • tackling? thats more like wrestling

  • i would love to have one of these

  • its taking man and ball. tackling the hips is old, ya gotta stop the offload

  • @YanickBrew lol gotta tackle at the hips. cus if you don't you only tackle with your arms, not your legs.

  • @idontnoapassword Tackle the hips????? hahahahaha......how old are you? Watch a game that is played now not from the 90's. This machine is awesome...when tackling you mostly need to wrap up the arms to stop the offload.....everyone is trying to keep play going man! You tackle at the hips nowadays (unless from behind) and you're gonna get a knee in the face.

  • @YanickBrew agreed

  • This isn't a tackling machine, so well done for pointing that one out ladies and gents * Sarcastic*

The whole point of this is to build power in your core and shoulders. With the correct techinque you will not damage your back.. in the sporting world this type of explosive exercise is common.

This doesn't develop tackling, rather develop core power which in turn brings better performance through tackles.

This is a great machine. Explosive power training is the way forward!

    Research guys!

  • its not a tackle machine, its to help with man-handling strength..

  • i think this isn't agood workout cause you damage your back with it,,,

  • lol

  • has weights attached to the back so its putting resistance when pushing down. its not really simulating a tackle but strengthening the muscles used when tackling.

  • Its not a tclikng machine its just an exercise with a tacle bag used, attached to the weights. this doenst simulate tackilng...

  • shame he couldnt be picked for the all blacks though, cos of the ruling that hed already played for fiji a few years ago

  • i can see how this would work you out, but as far as im concerned the machine encourages bad tackling technique, and if you applied this in a game you would only hurt yourself and your opponent.

  • just play the game alot. if your good you'll change, get fitter. a Gym is good but you dont need a bloody tackle machine. strength is great but technique helps alot.

  • wat dis chap is sayin is bloody right!!!!

TECHNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!! is more useful then strength we used proper!!! But strength does help...

  • its good i use one at my club.

    Strengthens you're obliques shoulders etc.

Basically over strength in you're upper body

    good machine.

  • why dont you just play rugby much more fun

  • wtf..

    rubbish..

  • i normally just put my legbehind them when the refs not looking (alot easier) lol

  • Holy shit is that illegal? what about if you wrap you legs around theres while holding their jersey and falling back? or having your legs infront of theres and then falling back? are they ilegal?

Ive taken a couple of fat craps out that way?

  • why do you think i say when the refs not looking :P

  • Lol nice :P

  • for your information, it is legal... to an extent. as long as u are not blatently tripping them then its fine. so, say as long as u have ur arms wrapped around the body and ur shoulder is connected to their body, it is perfectly legal to put a leg infront or behind the player to help send him on his way. though do so at your own risk as you could get your leg twisted and broken in the tackle or resulting break-down.

  • Yeah, you also have to remember that if you wrap your leg around theirs, you won't be in good position to either get out of the ruck or to pick up the pull and run on. It's only a good tackle in rugby if you stay in control and you do that by keeping both feet on the ground and by keeping your momentum from toppling you over with the ball carrier

  • why cant you just tackle like a man learn the right technique and get strong enough to not have to pussy out an use your legs

  • i use it if a maul has formed and is dangerously close to the try line

  • I can see that it would build the right muscles but otherwise its completely pointless...

  • Rubbish.

  • wtf is that, your suppose to go low, it'd be so easy to break out of shytty tackle. they'll advertise anything to gain more money

  • mate it works your core and your obliques.. similar to a form of trunk twist.

  • i want one

  • thats pretty neat

  • cool
