I think what a lot of people thought in that commercial was that Sonic isn't as legendary as he is now since he was used in some commercial. Like the credibility of himself is thrown away to some commercial. I can understand people probably getting upset about it. But companies gotta make money somehow....right? If you watch blackbustercritic's channel you will see how many diehard sonic fans there really are and to what depths they will go to defend him.
I watched the commercial and wasn't angry about it. It's an advertisement. So long as he doesn't go selling insurance in a game it's all good to me. Some people are overly critical, myself included, but there is a difference between having an honest open opinion that isn't full of blind hate and just downright being a whining douche.
I can understand where the sonic fans are coming from. They have assimilated with this character for years and feel betrayed he would do something so ludicrous as "get car insurance when he doesnt have a car" I think progressive couldve run a better ad with a game character who owns a car.But over reacting to this is well... immature and gamers are notoriously "immature" Ima gamer myself btw
I don't think I'm being overly critical when I notice a game breaks every basic rule of storytelling and film school, and when the gameplay goes from being so non-linear that half the game's world is accessible from the start, to turning into a corridor fest. In fact I think I'm only being reasonable when I ask them not to be that sloppy and lazy.
i think that the fact that it was a commercial ya gamers shouldnt take it too seriously its not like hes in a game buying car insurance ... i do think gamers including myself sometimes just want to complain or be overly critical
@TH3T1T4N Thats why I was saying me myself, I don't mind I thought it was cool he was in a commercial. But sometimes people just don't accept anything different which is understandable.
@dayashathirsts wouldnt that be wierd if you were playing sonic and before you had to kill a boss you had to go buy car insurance that would be some wierd shit lol... and its understandable but i think people need to accept change and embrace it not fight it and complain all the time
Paying the amount of money we do for gaming we're not critical enough and we're not forceful enough to make sure BS development practices like half finished games that get so called expansions, dlc that's already on a disc, or epic glitches aren't the norm anymore.
They did put out a mario movie when he had no powers, look it up. Do a wtf on it, I would watch it. It sucked ass bro.
