Actually, if you pay close attention, the Shiranui transformer lacks more than just the tendrils of light. Amaterasu at full power should have what comes out of her shoulders come out at the back of her hind legs as well. Hence why the transformer sucks XP

I think it's so weird that Clover studios was originally going to make the game realistically styled, which is why they put the final karmic transformer in here (last one: realistic okami). They ended up canceling the idea after realizing that the playstation 2 couldn't provide them with the necessary "realistic" look. (The very first trailer was actually realistically looking too O.o)

So the calligraphic style was born :) thank god for that, right?!

Unfortunately you can't get Shiranui in its full glory. No tendrils, only the full markings (which is #7).

I have a question about the story (SPOILER) ...

After the Yoshpet forest part, ammy goes 100 years in the past and deafeats True Orochi right ?And Shiranui saves nagi ...

then in wawku she appears again to help Ammy and saves oki this time ...

So, when did shiranui get hurt and the wounds made her die (at wawku or moon cave?)

And why in the story part ( pics are displayed) it says that shiranui will go to the battle with Orochi (AGAIN? Then what was the true Orochi fight about?) help !

I finished the game just now, but my guess would be that she died in the moon cave 100 years in the past.

The time travelling might have made it a bit confusing, but Shiranui actually helped Amaterasu FIRST at Wawku, THEN she travelled back in time through the Spirit Gate to save Nagi. So for Shiranui the events in her life are the other way around compared to Amaterasu's.

Actually just to put this to bed, even Capcom didn't know what they were saying about Ammy's gender. Hell they made countless characters call her "mother Amaterasu" in the game (the US version mind you) yet apparently they want to say she's genderless. If you're a mother, you're female. End of story. :D

In the german version Ammy is always called "goddess" and "she" so she is female. Didn't knew she is genderless in other versions :) Anyway I don't want to push the arguing about the gender, great video ;-)

When I beat the game the only S rank I got was for deaths. I didn't even die once because I spent all my money on healing items. XD

Seriously, though, the game gives you way more money than you will ever need unless you buy every single weapon in the game, even the ones you wont use.

In order to get the Shiranui Transformer, you need to have at LEAST 4,500 Praise :D

Yes you could beat the game twice but it would have to be on a diffrent file. for Shiranu markings you need 5000 prays. for the first drawing you need LOTS of yen

XD Also, if I add my opinion, I think Amaterasu is a female. Only because on the soundtrack there is a song called, "Great Sun Goddess" or something about a goddess, and Amaterasu is the only god you really met in the game that doesn't have an obvious gender.

Can someone help? i've played through the game and unlocked all the karmic tranformers but i have started a new game and saved on an empty file later on. the start at beggining file left from the 1st time is still there. the karmic transformers are not in my tools section though. what must I do?

Just to reiterate, Amaterasu-ōmikami is the sun Goddess and the most important of the Shinto deity's, often referred as "Mother" of the other deity's.

As for the Shiranui debate, we know it was also Ameterasu 100 years before. There is no mention of the gender in the game. Shiranui means "unknown fire", but the Kanji used in Okami means "white wild majesty"

Amaterasu is female, sorry people. It says in the game booklet or something that she is genderless, but that's just because the people knew that some American would have a problem with that. They changed the subtitles so that it seems that she is genderless throughout /most/ of the game. After all, Ammy is a goddess in a wolf's form. Shiranui is male, which might make you think Ammy is male, but she is just his /wolf/ reincarnation; he is not who she really is.

I find it stupid that once you beat the game you can't go back if you saved in ark of yamato which im sure everyone has. They should at least allow you to leave the ark or like have a teleporter that leads you outside once you beat the game once.

Ammy is actually a female in the Japanese/European games. She is referred as a female in the English games, but is never officially stated that she is female. In the Japanese/European games they blatantly state that she is a girl near throughout the game.

In the English version of the game, Issun called Ammy a "her" at one point. I believe it is right after leaving the sunken ship at Ryoshima coast with Rao, after getting 'eaten' by the water dragon, when you go back into Sei-an city and talk to Rao, Issun says something about Ammy, like "Ammy is sensitive about -her- flaws." I can't remember correctly :]
