The quality of journalism may be poor in the west at times but at least we don't have governments telling us lies through the media. Controlling information is the number one way a government can control it's population. E.g. North Korean govt telling its citizens they are living in paradise. Govt such as Russia, China can do whatever evil they want without fearing the media.
