How I'm trying to prepare is by teaching myself to garden to help w/food, Im learning what I can on urban sustainable living. Im stocking up on non perishables. I stay out of debt. I only buy what I need & not just what I want or at least w/in reason. I live frugally. Only thing I cant control is...my health. That I just keep praying about.

I have been pressured by supervisors to falsify records and chart on paperwork or "fix it" so the hospital could be paid although it is illegal and fraudulent. Then let me tell u what the do to "lost charges"...check ur bill cuz u may be paying for Jane Doe's IV bag, cuz someone forgot to charge it and the hosp it gonna get their money.
And u all lay people have no idea what kind of crap goes on in hospitals. Mistakes made, coverups to avoid lawsuits, incompetent doctor's and nurses. Dr's coming in to work the ER's drunk, not to mention who's making out w/whom in the Dr's lounge..Im not saying this is majority but it happens and it is covered up by administration. I personally saw a doc who was being sued rip out his progress notes and redo and back date them. If u tell ur fired and blackballed.
Well many europeans & canadians I have talked to in chatrooms or in IMs tell me they never had to wait long periods for appts/operations. But being an RN here in USA, I can tell u that I have had to wait 3 weeks for an appt to get into see my reg GP when my eye was puffed up til it was closed w/staph infection & they didnt give a flip! And it was not just one GP I got the same from others & I had great insurance. I had Afib which is bad heart rhythm had to wait to see cardiologist too.
I'm Canadian and have advanced bronchiectasis (lung disease) and it has taken up to a year to see a specialist. I've also been waiting over a year now to have surgery, so I'm not sure who these Canadians are, but the truth is that there are long waiting lists in Canada.
Maybe it varies where u are located in Canada but I have talked to many people in chat rooms from Canada and asked them if they had long waits and they said it was not that long...but then again could be varied by different hospitals also.
Btw, for someone w/lung disease u dont seem symptomatic. You speak well without any shortness of breath or respiratory distress. Guess that's a blessing.
You really don't know much about lung disease. My lung function is only 19%, and I DO have shortness of breath all the time and feel as though my lungs are drowning.
I know plenty about lung disease, Im a registered nurse since 1983, working med/surg and many other areas. I have watched your videos and I just stated that u speak very eloquently without any shortness of breath in your videos, I did not say u were not sick. People with severe lung ailments like CHF, emphysema, etc, are very SOB or on oxygen, with distended neck veins. My mom died of lung dz. My father died of lung Cancer so yes I do know what Im talking about.
Well, you do not know much about my lung disease, and you certainly implied that I was not sick, Obviously, someone in need of IV antibiotics every 4-10 weeks is sick, and I'm on O2 24/7, because my PO2 is generally is around 50 mm.Hg. I have been in respiratory failure and have come close to being intubated, so happen to know much about living with advanced lung disease.
Have you ever considered that some of these Canadians are not telling the full story. Many of them are not very ill. There are often long waiting lists across Canada.

I had useless insurance because it took me 3 years to find a doctor that accepted it after my other Dr. became a hospitalist due to economic issues. But this insurance covers nothing and it's govt. by the way (tricare). So I just pay cash and forget about it. I can see my doc the same day I call. A specialist would take a little longer.
I will tell you of my experience with US Socialized health care. Back when we qualified for government health care. I called the local public health care dept of my county to try and get an appointment for my son, as we were pretty sure he had Bronchitus. They told me they could see him in 6 weeks. He would either be well or dead by then. I said forget it and called a local Dr. It cost me but it was worth it, as all he had was an infection that could be cured with an antibiotic.

Another fact is thousands die each year from things as simple as ear infections due to lack of medical care. Many; if not most, infections require more treatment then a visit to the emergency room. besides the overall waist sand strain these cases put on emergency efficiency.
In my state, as well as many others, a poor parent would have no reason to take their child to the ER for an ear infection. All they have to do is go to the health dept, its FREE. The fact that some don't is not a reflection on the availability of care, but the vigilance of the parent. They wait until the child is screaming in pain and the health dept is closed. (oh poor them) then they go to the ER. I was poor when my kids were young. The health dept gave them free shots, check-ups, dental care

When Andrew hit Florida in 92' all people that had private hurricane insurance on their house didn't received a dime. Why? companies went on bankruptcy for the high demand on damage repairs. Who took care of that? The state. Since then the state takes care of Hurricane coverage policies, they are conviniant and 100% guaranteed to give service to the public in case of an emergency. My mistake SOME people received compensation for property damage and a vast mayority NOT. But i guess that's how your position defends the private sector when every household has to pay and less than a half received benefits. Unfortunately in health sector some people don't have the luxury of time to wait a private insurer to review their case to see if he "qualifies" for coverage and of course the State has to take care of those that the private sector don't want to insure.

How I'm trying to prepare is by teaching myself to garden to help w/food, Im learning what I can on urban sustainable living. Im stocking up on non perishables. I stay out of debt. You can go to the ER. They HAVE to take you. They will send you a bill and as long as you pay a little each month, they can't do anything to you or your house. I know this from experience.

Our emergency rooms are clogged with welfare recipients who don't want to make a Dr's appointment. They have Drs, but it doesn't cost them anything to go to the emergency room, so they go there instead.

Im just saying we need and have to have some kind of new health reform...better to try something new and if that dont work, try something else, than stay the way it is. It's rediculous that hospitals buy a bic razor & charge u five to ten bucks for it when u can go to Walmart's and get a bag of them cheaper. Why are they paying those prices unless someone is getting kickbacks? Plus many people wont pay their bills, so hosp's write it off & have to eat it, that makes them go under.

I am all for trying something new. But Socialized Health Care is neither new nor does it work. Its failure has been proven repeatedly.
"New" would be Tort Law reform, so that Drs aren't scared to death of being sued and their insurance isn't astronomical.
"New" would be the government helping med students go to college without burdening them with huge student loans that make them charge more. They are in debt too.
After that, I wouldn't mind some of my taxes going to help people who are...

I have been pressured by supervisors to falsify records and chart on paperwork or "fix it" so the hospital could be paid although it is illegal and fraudulent. Then let me tell u what the do to "lost charges"...check ur bill cuz u may be paying for Jane Doe's IV bag, cuz someone forgot to charge it and the hosp it gonna get their money.

And u all lay people have no idea what kind of crap goes on in hospitals. Mistakes made, coverups to avoid lawsuits, incompetent doctor's and nurses. Dr's coming in to work the ER's drunk, not to mention who's making out w/whom in the Dr's lounge..Im not saying this is majority but it happens and it is covered up by administration. I personally saw a doc who was being sued rip out his progress notes and redo and back date them. If u tell ur fired and blackballed.

Well many europeans & canadians I have talked to in chatrooms or in IMs tell me they never had to wait long periods for appts/operations. But being an RN here in USA, I can tell u that I have had to wait 3 weeks for an appt to get into see my reg GP when my eye was puffed up til it was closed w/staph infection & they didnt give a flip! And it was not just one GP I got the same from others & I had great insurance. I had Afib which is bad heart rhythm had to wait to see cardiologist too.

I'm Canadian and have advanced bronchiectasis (lung disease) and it has taken up to a year to see a specialist. I've also been waiting over a year now to have surgery, so I'm not sure who these Canadians are, but the truth is that there are long waiting lists in Canada.

Maybe it varies where u are located in Canada but I have talked to many people in chat rooms from Canada and asked them if they had long waits and they said it was not that long...but then again could be varied by different hospitals also.
Btw, for someone w/lung disease u dont seem symptomatic. You speak well without any shortness of breath or respiratory distress. Guess that's a blessing.

I know plenty about lung disease, Im a registered nurse since 1983, working med/surg and many other areas. I have watched your videos and I just stated that u speak very eloquently without any shortness of breath in your videos, I did not say u were not sick. People with severe lung ailments like CHF, emphysema, etc, are very SOB or on oxygen, with distended neck veins. My mom died of lung dz. My father died of lung Cancer so yes I do know what Im talking about.

Well, you do not know much about my lung disease, and you certainly implied that I was not sick, Obviously, someone in need of IV antibiotics every 4-10 weeks is sick, and I'm on O2 24/7, because my PO2 is generally is around 50 mm.Hg. I have been in respiratory failure and have come close to being intubated, so happen to know much about living with advanced lung disease.

I had useless insurance because it took me 3 years to find a doctor that accepted it after my other Dr. became a hospitalist due to economic issues. But this insurance covers nothing and it's govt. by the way (tricare). So I just pay cash and forget about it. I can see my doc the same day I call. A specialist would take a little longer.

I will tell you of my experience with US Socialized health care. Back when we qualified for government health care. I called the local public health care dept of my county to try and get an appointment for my son, as we were pretty sure he had Bronchitus. They told me they could see him in 6 weeks. He would either be well or dead by then. I said forget it and called a local Dr. It cost me but it was worth it, as all he had was an infection that could be cured with an antibiotic.

I don't have insurance, I pay out of my own pocket when I need to see a Dr. I have never been turned down for treatment. And yes its expensive, but thats my choice, shouldn't I have that choice? Its my money, my health, my body. Hmm sounds familiar.

Thw WHO ranks us there because 15 to 18% of people living in the US don't have insurance. They don't mention that 12 million of those are illegal immigrants. They remaining 5% who don't have insurance still have access to care. The Emergency Room can not turn you away. Dr's will treat those without insurance on a payment plan.
I don't have insurance and I have NEVER been turned away for health care.

The take over of AIG and its subsequent capital injection was absolutely paramount to maintain an unfaltering financial system and avoid an imminent fall out to the "systemic risk" abyss -- if this requires further explanation, then all hopes are lost. After several months of researching AIG, I have realized that the company's literal plunder into CDS market wasn't solely for a lucrative revenue but indeed they were thinly capitalized, hence a venture into the "reinsurance" business (aka surplus renting) to meet the regulatory standards while in actuality the contracts were never meant to be paid. If Mr. Paulson was to pick who had to get a piece of pie, a psychological fallout would have ensured for those large entities that received the bailout as they were surely being categorically singled out and labeled as unstable. This would have indeed propagated into a real systemic risk because the market would have automatically shifted itself from the "perceived" failure (bailout recipients) to the ones with no bailout money defeating the whole scheme.

First: pneumonia in the US most often develops in ppl with the flu, not a cold. Second: our government ALREADY gives out FREE flu vaccines every year to anyone who wants them.
Third: the govt estimates that 1 to 5 million Americans get pneumonia per year. No where near your 48 million supposedly showing up at the ER with pneumonia.

Cold can turn into influenza and then pneumonia moron. Those vaccines are saved for the old and children, NOT homeless or jobless people, that's just a fact. 46 not 48 million, and that was the number of uninsured not the total number of people that have to go to an emergency room because of a bad cold. Often it settles into the chest, and without $180 for medication, you can easily die from it.

The flu vaccine is available to anyone who wants to go to the location (they set them up everywhere, the poor get them at the DHS) and receive one. STATES do this individually ALREADY.

A cold lowers your bodies ability to fight off infections, hence colds turning into the flu during the fall/winter months. If that lie about the flu vaccines going to the poor helps you sleep at night, go for it. Another fact is thousands die each year from things as simple as ear infections due to lack of medical care. Many; if not most, infections require more treatment then a visit to the emergency room. besides the overall waist sand strain these cases put on emergency efficiency.

In my state, as well as many others, a poor parent would have no reason to take their child to the ER for an ear infection. All they have to do is go to the health dept, its FREE. The fact that some don't is not a reflection on the availability of care, but the vigilance of the parent. They wait until the child is screaming in pain and the health dept is closed. (oh poor them) then they go to the ER. I was poor when my kids were young. The health dept gave them free shots, check-ups, dental care

In my state, anyone who make less than 35,000 a year can get health care for their child for 50 dollars a year. If you make less than 25,000 its FREE. So forget about your pie in the sky dream of the federal govt running everything. We are smarter than that. We are NOT going to let it happen.

Hitler joined the German workers party, a almost a year later he re-named it the national socialists. He used the word socialist as a MISNOMER to gain votes away from the German socialist party and the KPD. It was all a ploy to gain enough votes for his party; nothing more. Socialists and communists were put into concentration camps first. These are verifiable facts from a hundred sources.
