  • YEAH FRUITY RUDY! GO SLAY THAT DRAGON!

  • Rudy played himself? What a badass.

  • Hahhaha LOL, is Rudy playing himself? so he went to iraq as a marine?

  • @Artuuur96 yeah he's the real rudy

  • I luv you fruity Rudi!

  • i didnt doubt for a fucking second that this was unrealistic... i seemed legit as hell

  • i'm craving an MRE right now.

  • Jonah (Yair) Lotan served in the IDF as a paratrooper, he surely knew the job

  • @kakabona2 That's awesome. He was one of my favourite actors in the series. Jon Huertas (Poke Espera) was in the Air Force for 8 years and was in Desert Storm and the Panama invasion.

  • i LOVE our marines, but seriously can anyone these days get through a sentance without swearing? i'm only 26, i'm not some prim old lady, but it gets grating to the ears after a while.

  • @wadyano Hey man I am a marine and its just part of our culture. Swear words are just words do give them anymore weight then what they deserve Best wishes

  • @ak0b Same in the Army. Everyone swears. The trick is being able to turn it off when you need to. ;) Took me a little bit once I got back from deployment.

  • @ak0b i know they're just words, and i don't give them credit, it just bugs me, like an off key violin. Thank you for serving man. you a hero to me.

  • i hate the whole idea of embedding reporters with the military. the military doesn't need to worry how their actions will look in print, they need to get it done.

  • interesting to compare this to the marines experience in "the pacific" how warfare in general has changed.

  • This was good mini series and one of those Officers I forgot which one should had been Fragged, you know the one.

  • @scottex212 actually the Marines is one way of earning your citizenship.

  • Wait wait wow what the fuck? Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq? I was in OEF, that's Afghanistan. He meants Operation Iraqi Freedom, or OIF.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo - the unit they portrayed had served in Afghanistan before Iraq, possibly that's what he meant to say, is that it was issued to them in Afghanistan, and now they're bringing that gear with them to Iraq?

  • @cigansky possibly, i'm not going through the 6 minutes to analyze and find out.

    But OEF was Afghanistan...not Iraq.

  • FOLLOW MY TRACERS!

  • Generation Kill was directed by a woman

  • will the USMC accept someone who's Chinese?

  • @Scottex212 Are they a US citizen?

  • @Scottex212

if hes a u.s citizen or if he is a permanent resident then yes he may apply to become a Marine. im leaving to bootcamp in like 2 days xD hopefully ill be "accepted" or made one too lol

  • @bannana221 Good luck :)

  • lol anyone borne in 1990 or 91 is most likely to have rays personality of a marine fresh out of civilian life.

  • This is based of the book "One Bullet Away"

  • @TheKommykiller its based on the book generation kill.

  • @TheKommykiller

actually its off of Generation Kill by Evan Wright

Captian Nate Fick wrote his book a few years after he left the Marine Corp

  • They don't wear the SAPI plates because they are the biggest pussies ever. Wear the real gear you fucking wimps. Holy shit, actors are such pansy little children.

  • @yesiamawizardjonny Yeah, have you read the latest version of the book where Evan talked to Person about the series. Person had dinner with a bunch of the actors (including Ransone who played him) and they were saying how a lot of them can't shake the recon training, drama, etc from the minds and it weighs on them even after wrapping the shoot. Person said, "What's their problem? When I got back, I just went to Disneyland with my girlfriend."

  • @victorrain Actors are little bitches. They wanna pretend like they have PTSD and shit cuz they think it's cool. Fuck 'em.

  • @yesiamawizardjonny uhm , they are actors, meaning their skill set is to convene emotions on a screen, portray a character, acting, not carrying shit into battle. And when there are 110 degrees outside, (they were filming in east Africa if I'm not mistaken) in the desert, doubt you want to carry anything but a bottle of water...

  • No Disrespect meant but aren't the Marines just Navy Infantry?

  • @SonnyJWright Read the book called One Bullet Away by Nate Fick. He explains in one of the early chapters.

  • @SonnyJWright Hahaha no, not at all. They've got their own MO set apart from the Navy.

  • @SonnyJWright Department of the Navy. Marines are amphibious, air, land and sea.

  • @SonnyJWright no, that would be the SEALs

  • @SonnyJWright nah they are their own complete division in the military but yeah it is often misconcieved as that. they are in fact the toughest division of the military at the time

  • Jeff Carazales= funniest Marine in existence...

  • Just to let you guys know, Marine Corps Boot Camp isnt that hard. Im an 0311 in the Marines and i atually enjoy every day of it. Its a mental factor, the physical part is easy compared to it.

  • My divorce was fianl 10NOV2010...now I have 2 reasons to celebrate that day...Semper fi

  • @tman5890 Haha kill bodies!

  • man... brings back memories from afghanistan. Proud to say "Swift, Silent, Deadly"

  • @jsammarine semper fi, from a future marine...

  • @NakenKenguruTiss yeah, trying to shoot someone means you're an innocent person. do you even know what they do to their own people, and THEN the marines unfortunate enough to get caught? obviously not....

  • Alexander Skarsgård!!!

  • Haaaaa the guy who plays Captain America is a deuche in real life too

  • @NakenKenguruTiss Its pretty easy to run your suck on a computer. You don't have a clue about what would happen to this world if Marines and people like them were not where they needed to be and doing their jobs. Some of those innocent people aren't so innocent but of course you know that don't you.

  • This is funny because I want to be a MArine, and then after become an actor.

  • @ninjasore Quite the dream you've got there pal.

  • @November10th1775USMC I like your username. I know that's random, but I just wanted to let you know.

  • yup gonna re enlist next week in the same house i shot my first towel head! sry that your a hippy libreal cock suck. but myself and my fellow marines are proud of what we do. and you should be on your fucking knees thanking whatever god you choice that there are people that are willing to do the things that the marine coprs does.

  • @heelhook86 I heard a speech that sounded like that last part. It was a speech about John Glenn.

  • Hey its rudy!

  • he said recon marine's are the best but Force Recon Marines are better

  • "If we gave them the real thing they'd actually die..."

    Ha ha, that was good.

  • Did anyone else notice at 1:20 when she says they have real Marines on set to train them, Fruity Rudy is teaching the 3 guys?? lmao

  • lol wtf, english chick making a marine movie? This world is fucking upside down, brah.

  • @luckyStrike89ru the series was a collaberation between HBO and the BBC i believe

  • @luckyStrike89ru You know I did get an urge to scratch my fists against a certain actore who kept saying "brah" all the time. ITCHY. DAMN. FISTS.

  • dude this is one of the closest things to what i felt in the coprs! from the way that we talk to each other to cat calling wookies from the wire. because after all that is the first pussy you have seen in god knows how long. even tho you know that nasty bitch has the stank cunt. but its just a good mini series.

    semper fidelis

  • Believe it or not, one of the guys from this show is a brother to my 10th grade military history teacher. :D

  • WOO CAPTAIN AMERICA

  • One more year baby!!!!! Joining right out of high school

  • @LTPRO0 damn! 2 for me the wait is killin me! in so pumped up!

  • @LTPRO0 ur going to die man.....

  • @fadeismade2003 That's rather rude. I doubt you would last through the first week of boot camp.

  • @MostEpicMango

Maybe some people don't care for foreign wars and want to do something for the better with their life. I love how "you wouldn't make it in bootcamp" is an insult. I don't go around telling people "you wouldn't last a day in the hospital" or "you are not college-material".

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH I was defending someone, asswipe. fadeismade2003 said that LTPRO0 wouldn't make it through boot camp, when he probably wouldn't last either. I'm not quite understanding your comment, so please, explain yourself.

  • @LTPRO0 I Joined right after highschool. Took the summer as a break. I leave in March

  • @Str0ngSide Me too, where are you headed? I am going to Camp Penellton, CA shiping Mar, 28.

  • @Str0ngSide good man.

  • Lol my dad went to iraq and if they didn't understand what someone said on the radio, they would say whisky tango foxtrot or "wtf" xD

  • Irishmen enlisting in the US military. My God, we've come full circle!

  • theres alot of Erics in this video

  • @ Elmario the entire series is filled with gay jokes, marines bitching, and Marines that can only speak spanish!!! its realistic!

  • semper fi RUDY!!!

  • theyre obviously not real marines, i watched the whole clip and didnt hear one gay joke or hear one person bitch about something

  • lol

  • watch the whole series and u'll see a lot

  • @starscream1122 I know, I hate when actors do that, like with Band of Brothers, I think they don't understand the difference between Reality and a movie set. It's sad really, it makes the real guys look no more respectable than actors.

  • @yesiamawizardjonny It's not like they are arrogant. they're actors, in order to play a convincing role, they have to be in character or at least be confident in being their character. What sort of actor would you like to see? Ones who are so modest and intimidated by their role or those who have a good feel and confidence on their role?

  • They are just repeating what they have learn't from real marines.

  • then it proves their good actors

  • well thats their job. to pretend they understand the real thing. the armed forces is paid to do the real thing and actors are paid to pretend and make it seem as if they are the real thing. so they are just doing their jobs

  • @starscream1122 Yea, look at the fucking title "becoming a Marine" Really? Haha

  • holy shit. i did not know that SGT. rudy reyes is really rudy reyes

  • 6 day bootcamp

    if only...

  • @gagsterde haha yeah.

  • haha i didnt know "fruity" rudy was a real marine playing himself thats hilarious.

  • @macky111222 What ever happened to Trombley?

  • @macky111222 Eric Kocher was also playing a character in the show, but he didn't play himself :P

  • @EsAychAyeTee yeah. he played Gunny Rich Barrett, who was Captain Patterson's driver and team leader (I think).

  • @macky111222 Jeff Carazales played Cpl. Smith from Alpha Company and he was the Marine who was handy with the Humvee maintanence

  • RAY"S NOT A NERD UR A NERD :P

  • Wow I didn't know Rudy played himself I thought they just found an actor that looked alot like him lol

  • why do Ray n Rudy get in a fight at the end of the series?

  • because ray is the little nerd, and rudy is the jock. Classic high school hate.

  • @wickeddrummer13

Kind of funny if you think about it. That "nerd" is still Force Recon. I cannot think of anything more baddass than a Marine 0326.

  • I may be wrong but Reconnaissance battalions and Force Recon ain't the same thing at all. Howerver, I agree they are badasses.

  • @scorpion068

apparently, they really didnt get into a fight. its a metaphor for the stress they felt before they did this tour (in the book) and they writers thought it would be dramtically effective to put it at the end as a representation of what happened (because the book is different, i havent read it yet.)

  • Fruity Rudy is the kind of Marine where if you ever fell out of a hump, he'd be the first one to grab some of your shit and truck it on top of his stuff for the rest of the hump, then hand it back afterwards.

Those Marines are hard to come by. God knows, I was never and could never be the Marine Rudy was.

  • its weird how when she's talking about how the actors wouldnt last an hour in the real suite's because its just too hot...kinda funny since these marines can go days if not weeks with barely taking the suites off for a breather...

  • God i lost it that it was the guy playing Captain America who said that.

  • hell ya it makes me a little curious about the marine corps:D!!! big fan! you know kellan luts, plays a role in GK, is coming here next friday for new moon, im going to see him cuz he's in gen kill! hope he says something! i've chatted with some of his friends!:D crossed fingers!

  • @christine4xoxo Get a grip, he is only a person.

  • i'd really like to see more marine film tv shows like generation kill

  • Best series Ive ever seen.

  • amen. i have beeen in a fight against an ex british battle hardend marine and it didnt end well

  • HELL NO IT DIDNT!

  • lucky you didnt encountered sas :)

  • Do you know this for a fact or are you just going by what the media tells us?

  • that guy at 6:00 is the same guy that made voice for david armstrong in Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis?

  • Semper Fidelis

  • please tell me you know what that means and you arent just an 11 year old kid who thinks he is cool by writing that.

  • It means "one love," right?

  • best mini series when i was watching at some points i actully thought that it was real!!

  • God bless America!!! God Bless Europe and Latin America!!! We all believe in Christ!! If we dont put an end to this Islamic invasion its going to be too late!!

  • Erin Go Braugh, Irish Marine here.

  • I hear that bro!

  • @irlsarge well hoorah, but you actually need full citizenship to enlist.

  • @walkerorr no you dont. all you need is a green card, good standing moral character, physically fit, and pass the asvab. and guess what? its oorah, not hoorah. trust me, id know.

    SEMPER FI-

  • @irlsarge hahahha ok ill be waiting. and thanks its good to know someone not in the US likes americans. but just to let u know we fuck shit up and dominate fucking everything.

  • @MrConorjburns

we fuck shit up and dominate fucking everything.

    ...and achieve nothing.

  • @irlsarge ^So am i. US army needs some western-european blood.

  • @irlsarge a hang job ? you're gay

  • @irlsarge Easy there, killer. The grass is never greener on the other side when you live in Ireland. ;)

  • @irlsarge y not help uk

  • @XxROBERTSONx The UK is for the weak. become a real man.

  • @irlsarge Good luck, sir. Godspeed and thanks.

  • To the commentors who think our military are uneducated brutes: Leave America. Move to the middle east, Cuba, or China. You don't deserve to live here. To disrespect the men and women who are doing the grind, is reprehensible. Our country is not a perfect one, but we sure as hell make sure every citizen has a right to free speech and their constitutional rights. You should thank them for being able to spew your hateful words.

  • im cuban budy. i know cuba is shit because of the blockade but damm. IM joining the USMC because i too am an American. the caribbean is sout of florida that means is america. we all are united with the same name. one day there will be a planet called america. SEMPER FI

  • Kind of amazing that an officer like Capt. America could be placed in an elite unit. Politics will out. apparently.

  • capt. america's personality is apparently exaggerated, although he still was pretty bad

  • Major Gray was actually a pretty good officer. He was actually a Lt during the push and a capt on his second tour where he performed very well. Easily excitable but a good officer.

  • Great book, and great series. Semper Fi!

  • this looks like a great show, cant believe i havent heard of it. can someone tell me if its worth watching?

  • I fancy Rudy but that doesn't make me gay.

  • In regards to the negative comments about this show and my fellow Recon Marines, the individuals with dis-content obviously are not proud of there fellow man. We as Recon Marines fought bravely for what we believed in, furthermore Recon training is strictly voluntary. I graduated Amphib Recon School Dec.12 2003 and served with 3rd Recon Bn. the attrition rate for training if over 75% Recon Marines are the fiercest warriors on the battlefield and will die for what we, and you all of you believe

  • This is the same propaganda the US used for the second world war. When things get really bad over there, they will bring back the Draft and the guys will buy into it more easily. Things are going to get really bad and we need to be ready for an all out war. Get ready Dudes!!!

  • Im a Marine and I have plenty of opportunities to get an education. You sound like an idiot, dont talk about things you obviously cant understand.

  • ....what?

  • um. arabs are the enemy in all media for the same reason russians were the enemy in all media during the cold war. we are at war with them

  • have you watched this TV show? obviously not.

  • u should do something about it then u never know u might change the world someday

  • You don't understand the Marine Corps, agentriot03. All officers are required to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree. Also, you would be surprised by the number of enlisted Marines that have associates, bachelors, and even masters degrees from well-known universities. Brave Marines are the heroes because they are the ones who save the lives of their comrades.

  • So you are talking about terrorist that killed millions of people like 9/11 for example and you respect them? And you're disrespecting soliders that not only keep it's own country free but the country that they are patrolling they keep them free as well. And soliders have plenty of college opurtunities, especially since they get most of colledge paid off

  • seriously?? are you sure about that??

  • Your insane. The enlisted men and officers in the military are all very intellegent men and women. Doctors, medics, surgeons, repairmen etc, etc, are all very smart and brave. There not blood crazy as it seems u describe them. There brave and nobel and all deserve our thanks. Lately,i thought alittle about joining the army and becoming an officer, and although the army may not be as respected or anythang as the marines, but there just as brave, smart, and nobel.

  • ha i have the the dvds episode case next to me i feel like it watching now.

  • I didn't know that was the real Rudy. How is his hair so long? I thought Marines are supposed to have the high and tight or high fade.

  • def not, you can get medium fade, med reg, and low fade depending on your unit

  • They were in the desert with no way of grooming

  • 4:56, OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) is not an Iraqi Campaign. There are only two countries that have OEF, they are Afghanistan and Phillipines. I've already been part of OEF '08-09, and lucky for those actors they don't have to wear the NEW MTV Flaks, they include 2 more Sapi-plates for the sides and a ton more alice-adapters for more possible spots for magazines, IFAK, grenade pouches, etc.

  • that is actually Sergent Rudy Reyes. he plays himself in the series and was a part of the Iraq and Afghan campaigns. he used his gear from Afghanistan on the set of the show

  • So is Fruity Rudy gay fo' real?

  • @KxKehM MTV?? You know thts just a different model of the LMTV ridht? You know the transport truck? Sounds like you meant the IOTV or the new late carriers, and alice adapters? No one uses them anymore, everyone switched over to the Molle system for attaching their gear

  • congrats to everybody who worked in this project...it was nominated in the emmy awards. hope it wins.

  • Pretty cool, I didn't know he was the actual rudy

  • Never knew Rudy Reyes plays himself, no wonder the actor and picture of himself look very alike

  • Making broad, general, and ignorant statements like this makes you appear to be the uneducated one. If you took the time to watch the series or better yet read the book you would see that it does nothing to glorify war, it achieves quite the opposite.
