I agree with you only to a certain extent. Is high notes all that should matter not at all! and Whitney's mid-range has always been her best quality, being versatile she could also do the high belting as well. However Beyonce is not an example, I enjoy her but she really attempts to show as much vocal range in every song. She's one of the performers like Mariah who's exact range can be documented because she attempts to sing it fully as often as possible.
