@rrgert4 Yes it is a combo, but I found out that not all the vs amps have a tube in the pre amp. The 8020 has no tube in the pre amp,but still has a good sound.

@STJIMMY541 is a combo tube amp a good "next " amp if i want a new one, i now own a peavey vypyr 15W modeling amp, i mean its good and all glad i bought it over my old 10W squier shit bundle amp but its like that , isnt iti :P u always want better and bigger, unfortunately also pricier :0

@rrgert4 Well the 8080 would be considered a hybrid amp. It uses a tube in the pre amp of the dirty channel, but not in the clean. The tube apparently 'warms' up the tone. Its not an all tube amp but because the power amp stage is solid state. I'd say the Marshall would be good as a 'next' amp because Its obviously got bigger wattage than your peavey and personally I think the distortion is quite a bit better. But if you are thinking all tube than definitely go for it if you have the money.

@rrgert4 the bugera v22 is also good and very cheap for an all tube amp. Another good Bugera is the BC15, although its a hybrid its very good. It only costs $110 on musicians friend which is 80 euros! That's another amp worth checking out. But anyway that's just my opinion, I'm only fourteen btw

hey i have a question. i might buy on of these amps and are they good for like rock n roll as in zeppelin, acdc, stones, aerosmith, guns n roses, skynrd, bad company etc. and is all tube? cause i like to turn the volume down( on the guitar) and get clean tones.

i havve the 8040 model from valvestate and i just love it you can get any distortion you want, about the tubes it as 1 one the preamp, so you can play with the volume knob on your guitar :)

The Vs series are hybride, they contain 1 valve that's used when you switch to overdrive.

The mg series are for starters and considered rubbish by most guitarists :P

Good for you man. Those Valvestate amps never cease to surprise me either. I have VS65R for practicing around on at home and it still sounds fantastic since the day I bought it. It never ceases to reward with great tones : )

I have this same amp with a Schecter C-1+, at 3/4 volume there is air coming out from behind the knobs! It's SWEETNESS...

@macuse2008 try it with a ts9 tube screamer ,or any overdrive pedal ds-1 etc when this amp is front ended with an overdrive on lead channel it gets massive tone ..i use mine withcelestion g65's and ibanez ts9 = im lovin it =)) \m/

i have a vs102r i think is its 'title' i love the thing to death, but it always gives me so many problems.

things like shorting out,stuff burning up,just not a well made amp,but had a great tone when eq'd right

I used to hate these but I've more a taste for the sound in my old age haha. If I remember right, you had to crank these up so I couldn't just bring one home and get the same sound without complaints from neighbors. I ended up getting a Crate with tubes and DSP that was really nice with an N2 guitar using the split pickup selector. But Crate made junk amps and I had to throw away two of them because they wouldn't always work.
