Yeah there has been a lot of talk about the racial problems of the death penalty. I truly believe there have been black men that have been executed who were in fact innocent. Blacks are more likely to be suspected in committing a crime just as muslims are more likely to be suspected of terrorist attacks, it's racial profiling.

Texas is the worse for imprisonment and death sentences however. I'm probably going to be moving to New Zealand permanantly within the next year though. Not for this particular reason, but, NZ has a much more reasonable justice system.

Thats a fair point, I don't think the death penalty will cure crime, it clearly doesn't. I personally think that executions should be public though. These things go on behind closed doors, and in many ways are not "real". If they were public it would serve two purposes. It may have a deterrent effect. It would allow pro death penalty people such as myself to see what we are really supporting, it possibly could change people's views to actually see a person killed by the state.

Too bad his sentence was converted to life. Just because you don't pull the trigger doesn't mean your not guilty. He was there he could of made the choice to leave or stop the shooter- he didn't. I am saddened that Texas yet again got it wrong and this one is still breathing.

I'm for the death penalty all the way. Scum who commit murders & hurt children need to be treated like wise. Even if you were not the one to kill but was involved some how should be murdered too. Yeah there has been a lot of talk about the racial problems of the death penalty. I truly believe there have been black men that have been executed who were in fact innocent. Blacks are more likely to be suspected in committing a crime just as muslims are more likely to be suspected of terrorist attacks, it's racial profiling.

I am against the death penalty, it's wrong but i don't think we should glorify the killers either. What they did was wrong but the death penalty is as barbaric as slavery, in about 100 years humans will look back at this and wonder why we allowed it to occur. This is so sad.. I am against the death penalty for this reason. People who kill should be punished but the death penalty will never bring back the innocent ones. It's totally barbaric. Texas is the worse for imprisonment and death sentences however. I'm probably going to be moving to New Zealand permanantly within the next year though. Not for this particular reason, but, NZ has a much more reasonable justice system.

Thats a fair point, I don't think the death penalty will cure crime, it clearly doesn't. I personally think that executions should be public though. These things go on behind closed doors, and in many ways are not "real". If they were public it would serve two purposes. It may have a deterrent effect. It would allow pro death penalty people such as myself to see what we are really supporting, it possibly could change people's views to actually see a person killed by the state.

So does the USA. The death penalty is only for the worst of scum that cannot change. In England police are scared to search black people incase they are accused of being racist. What sort of a country is that?

There is always the local vigilence commitee to help him find a tree except he will be laying around on a taxpayer bunk, in taxpayer clothes, using taxpayer electricity, in taxpayer housing, while getting fat on taxpayer food. Why not put him in the chair and let him get a charge out of it.

The death penalty was ended in the 1970's. What was the result we have freaks like Charles Manson still alive and causing hatred and killing. Thankfully they saw the light back then and justice was delivered to Gillmore. That was a day that the justice system of America showed its greatness.

Im sorry for your loss. But there are plenty of people who support the death penalty for the killers of their relatives. Where are their rights? If a jury would listen to families as they did in your case, why not just leave the system as it is? If the family doesn't want the murderer to be put to death they can request it.

As for 666 if you go back to the ancient texts the number of the beast is 616. 666 in fact refers to the Roman Emperor Nero. Thats beside the point.

The repeat offender criminals never commit a crime against another person again.
It reduces the expense to the taxpayers of paying for a criminal lounge around for the rest of his life.
The death penalty also provides a sense of justice and closure for the victims. As a sense of fairness should not the punishment be equivalent to the crime subjected upon the victim?

no, because this kind of law was possible in the Roman age, not in 2007. You cannot say that to kill somebody is a crime if you kill the murder afterwards. It doesn't make any sense.
