@2Kvicktor Not really, they only retain a fraction of their original value. For example, a Macintosh SE 30, over $2000 dollars originally, now, 80-$100 now,
@2Kvicktor it's because the more units you make of something, the cheaper they become to produce.. a custom cabinet shop could make an exact copy of a piece of IKEA furniture but, it would cost many times what you would pay from IKEA who makes thousands of that piece at a time.. everything, buying the materials in bulk, streamlining a production process, specialized tooling, all add up to savings per unit.. computers are no different.. especially as more and more people buy computers..
@2Kvicktor **continued.... sales will increase.. you go from selling ten thousand units to selling a million units a year and production costs automatically drop.. now you can sell even cheaper and attract even more customers.. this can only last so long because soon everyone will have a computer.. when that happens prices will still go down but much slower..
@2Kvicktor those were the original prices when they were the latest and greatest. They're worth more because you can't get them anymore and it's rare to find them.
why are the older computers worth a lot more than most of the newer mac laptops today?!
