@MrSickofstupidity - typical white nigger stealing our shit and passing it off as their own! you fuckers do this day in and day out but you will never be the ones you are jealous of white nigger! run tell that jackoff!
There is no doubt in my mind that there was some racism in the old days of Georgia. I remember that Thunderbolt Patterson and Tony Atlas got lots of shots at The Anderson Brothers (Gene & Ole) for the NWA World Tag Team Titles, but never could defeat them. Now, years later, I know why.
Dr. D is a complete, total idiot. He proves it on this show, he proved it when he became a shill for Vince McMahon and smacked John Stossel upside the head, and then he himself was "blackballed" from wrestling. Dr. D, loser, actor, and a bad one at both.
Thunderbolt Patterson is racist piece of shit nigger...blaming the white man for not making it in wrestling. He didn't make it in wrestling because he sucked.
@MrSickofstupidity He did not suck. He made very good money for that time. Dusty Rhodes, Blackjack Mulligan, and Superstar Billy Graham will openly admit to ripping off a lot of Thunderbolt Patterson's style in cutting promos. They wouldn't have copied his style and done so well with it if Thunderbolt Patterson sucked. Thunderbolt was a star, especially in Georgia Championship Wrestling which was the first wrestling show to be broadcast nationwide on cable TV.
@MrSickofstupidity - they didnt but i am...you piece of dog shit! you are soo fucking jealous of black people in general and what we want to know is why? is it because you are so fucking ugly that you are just taking it out on us? maybe it's because you see all of the white women walking past your corny ass and hooking up with our black men! i don't like that shit either but i'm not trashing your whole fucked up race am i?

@Clintbdee You'd have a point if Black people were a majority. Complaining that a minority group holds a championship a minority of times seems a bit ridiculous to me. @doeboy84 Blacks still face it. Look at Kaval. Look at MVP. Look at R-Truth. REALLY look at Kofi Kingston. All guys who are talented and over with the fans but seem to be going no where.
@RSXemperor Booker T The rock Mark henry bobbly lashly have all been world Champions in the last decade and are all black. That is a ridiculous argument nowadays. It matters if you draw money not the colour of your skin ( talent doesn't matter if you don't draw)
It was true In the old NWA days cause the Champ had to draw all over the country and including(especialy) the south. a black champ could not do it. Watts made Ron Simmons the first black champ because The territory system was gone
in all fairness the wwe always did hold down black talent booker t was the only black dude to win a wwe world championship one black man out of all there champions.. and the wwecw belt dont count
Thunderbolt was a regional star, he did not have the talent to be a world champion. he's a horrible example of racism in wrestling. Now Bobo Brazil had the national popularity to be world champ but wasn't good enough of a in ring worker to hold the NWA belt at that time. you had to be able to work to be the champion back then.
This is more entertaining then the wrestling matches themselves. I'm on the edge of my seat just waiting for another crazy man to come running out from the crowd trying to get his thirty seconds of yelling time in!
Here's the reality, not revisionist history...during the late 1960's to the late 1970's, Thunderbolt Patterson was a major draw in the southern territories, at a time when wrestling was huge in the south.
Jim Wilson may have seen himself as a bigger deal than he was, but promoter Jim Barnette did have a history of pressuring some wrestlers for "favors".
Dr. D was, and is a douchebag.
I don't know what to say about the rest. They should all be ashamed of themselves.
Agreed. Ted Arcidi was a terrible wrestler, almost immobile. His career was a direct result of Vince McMahon's weird fetish for musclemen. He doesn't even have any business on the same stage with that nutjob Dr D, let along T-bolt Patterson.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Leave it to a nigger to claim discrimination...niggers are born and raised to believe that they are entitled to something because they are black, they are the ones recaist...here's a hint, work for what you want instead of being lazy and having excuses
RIP Captain lou Albano , The greatest wrestler, promoter and Actor-"wiseguys with Joe Piscpo and Danny Devito(he should have been given an oscar for his preformance!. You will be missed
I'm sorry but this is one of the funniest damn things I've seen on TV ever. All this needed was the Iron Sheik on stage defending Patterson and threatening to fuck Schultz and Albano's asses and make them humble.
At 1:28 David Shultz ,in his anger, accidently exposes the buisness. He says to T-Bolt Patterson the he was a star because "they gave you the top spot, they gave you a push" well, if wrestling was a real, legitmimate sport then there would be no such thing as a push.
They give 'pushes" in MMA and Boxing. People are allowed or not to fight for the title, or they are stylistically matched up with fighters where they have a better chance or not. A champion who draws gets less competition than a "boring" champion. Silva after his last performance is now being considered to fight out of his weight class because of the chance he will loose. Why? Because he if he does not perform he does not get a push.
@Lfdjake91 Not necessarily. That could just mean (to those that aren't smart to the business) that they gave him the opportunity to wrestle against top guys - an opportunity to prove if he could compete at their level. You could compare it to a quarterback who gets to play in the game ( A PUSH) and prove himself as opposed to a second or third string quarterback who rarely plays. Now does the fact that some quarterbacks are first string and others are on the bench mean football is fake?
@Lfdjake91 actually even if wrestling was real a push could consist of a specific wrestler's match coming on at a specific time vs another specific wrestler
@16JAM77 At this point however ppl in the buisness were not yet willing to publically admit that wrestling was not legit though even though we all knew it was not.
bottom line is: you dont do a no-show for a promoted event. people have gone through much much worse than patterson since his days; things he would never have dreamed could happen. you walk out on a wrestling promoter, you will be lucky to EVER wrestle again. he had some mic skills but was always put against top talent and that was his push. what you do with the push is up to you, and he failed and then cried. anyway dont take this too serious the show was as scripted as wrestling too.
Arcidi left the WWF and went to WCCW to work for Fritz Von Erich briefly as a heel. After that he got out of the buisness. He now sells excersie equipment in New Hampshire.
He sure was. I saw a house show in Hershey Pa where Ted was on the card. He took on S.D. Jones and he was so bad that about half way through the match S.D. just about gave up and they pretty much had to end the match early. LOL!
I'd check out Bill Watts comments about those comments. It's easy for Atlas to say when he was pushed from the beginning of his career. He was treated very well; but that wasn't the experience that many black wrestlers faced.
I love how Dr.D discretely slid up beside Jim Wilson during the commercials. Watch out Dave, he'll queer you up good!! :)
On a serious note, this show was nothing but a witch-hunt against poor old Jim Wilson. The guy speaks out against his bad life in wrestling, then they wheel out losers like Larry Sharpe and Dennis Coraluzzo, both of whom have never been ANYTHING in the business, and they shoot their mouths off. I like Schultz, don't get me wrong, but he was WAAAAY out of order on this show.
Any sentence that has the word "sweetdatty" or "bobo brazil" you know its bullshit..............crack a beer and sit back and talk of the good ole' days because when the conversation is over your gonna say wtf did that muttu fugga just say about some sweetwaterbobo mutha fugger?
At 1:46, Dr. D makes a remark "Just because you're black, you think somebody owes you somethin!" That is so out of line considering Dr. D knows he is lying about wrestling....
Why is that out of line? He was lying to protect is profession and the business that put food on his families table. thunderbolt was looking for a hand out and making excuses for why he never made it big like Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas.
Oh, I acknowledge he was lying to protect the business. I have another post that says the same thing in part 1 of this video. But the remark is out of line because it was proven later thunderbolt was right and was discriminated against. One promoter (who went out of business) admitted it later on...
Thunderbolt Patterson couldnt hold Dr. D's jockstrap.
I remember him in WCW, he was awful. He didnt draw crap. Maybe in those small redneck towns in the south but never in any towns worth anything.
Dr. D was huge in AWA and set to be Hogans arch rival in WWF before he got fired for slapping that ass John Stossel. The guy was years ahead of his time. He was Stone Cold before Steve Austin ever hit the ring.
If your talking about his time there in the early 90's then yeah he did suck because he was in his 50's by that point. Patterson was an incredible talent, watch him back in his day wrestling for the funks in amaraillo, or boesch in houston or out in california or even during his tag run with ole anderson. The guy was trained by Pat O'connor one of the best wrestlers ever period.
Dr.D wasn't huge in the AWA he was built up to job out to Bockwinkel. As some of these guys like to say: EPIC FAIL!
Thunderbolt was 165 years old, bad hips, bad knees, and just burned out by 1985. He really didn't even belong in a ring at that point. His wardrobe was passe, his interviews were terrible. Now when you compare that T-Bolt to the one I saw on tape from his prime... LAWD have MERCY! The guy could sell ice to eskimos, extemely gifted on the mic. In the ring,if you saw Dusty Rhodes, you know who he got his antics in the ring from. Rhodes has admitted it several times
I saw a match between tony atlas and haris race (the champ at the time). Tony beat him but they did'nt give him the belt. He quit wrestling shortly after. He also made remarks on the problems in wrestling.
it's basically northeast vs south on a set that was in jersey i think....the crowd is obviously filled with ww(w)f fans backing schultz, albano, coraluzzo and arcidi they're kayfabing the hell out of this vs the south t-bolt patterson and jim wilson... t-bolt worked around the horn and drew money but never worked NY for Vince and Wilson was a prelim who didn't wanna sleep with jim barnett, mah-boyy...kayfabe won that day but albano couldn't kayfabe forever, arcidi drew squat (i.e. bill kazmaier)
and.. dr death is pathetic.. im suprised it didnt come out in public that he was a woman beater or god knows what.. he looks like and sounds like a fucking lunatic
The biggest joke of this pathetic show, was Acedi screaming that Dr D paid his dues. Thunderbolt was a sensation in Georgia in 1965 right up to the early 80s. I think turning pro in 1965 in height of the civil rights movement would DEFINE "paying your dues." It was Dr D that was a terrible performer, that never drew a crowd.
You need to think before you type. That's $100,000 a year.
He was a superstar. He got a % of the gate. That's how you made a living. All black talents were discriminated against in those days. But he tried to work through that abuse. And he did.
He's a role model. Didnt get famous by taking steroids like the overpaid talentless pretty boys of today. Oh, and he made more than Acidi AND Dr D combined, IN an earlier generation.
Because Im intelligent. I know the history of wrestling. And I know the history of the 1960s and 70's. He made a lot of money because he was a big "face" in the South. He was a regular.
He was portrayed horribly here. However, I think he comes off great compared to Acidi and Schultz, who were FAR more entertaining here then they EVER WERE in the wrestling business. They were gigantic failures.
we'll evidently you dont have a eye for wrestling talent because he was a terrible wrestler and at promo's.He got the push to the top because he was black and they wanted black viewers to tune in.Like i said pepper the only color in wrasslin is Green baby! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Dr. D was right,Thunderbolt Patterson was just playing the race card to garner sympathy from viewers, especially black viewers.I'm all for equality,in case you were all wondering!
What a one-sided Springer-esque show this is. Wow, it's like "angry white men" unite. LOL, lets be anti-gay, anti-black, anti-OBVIOUS. Thunderbolt Patterson has HISTORY on his side...there was NO black heavyweight wrestling champion until DESPERATION had Bill Watts put the WCW title on Ron Simmons in 1992. People in the business now how much of a scumbag Jim Barnett was. It's so funny to see how backwards things were just 20 years ago, not 50.
Funny how Lou Albano and Dave Shultz claim to not know what a "blade job" was, I agree with Thunderbolt Patterson, hell watch the Hulk Hogan / Tony Atlas video where Hulk call's him "Boy" a few times and tell's him to shine his shoes. That was the mindset in wrestling, but then again they had to realize they weren't in church.
Whats funny about this interview is the ONLY LEGEND of wrestling out of anybody on that stage is Thunderbolt Patterson. If you look at the legends websites, its Thunderbolt Patterson that travels and does appearances. He WAS a HUGE draw in the 60s and 70s, and its easy to google to see pictures. Acidi and Shultz have NEVER been called legend. Thunderbolt paid his dues.
If Patterson was such a legend like you claim he was,he wouldn't have been whining like an 8 year old schoolgirl on national television.Sounds to me like he was bitter that Vince McMahon didn't give him a chance and if that was because he was black, how would Tony Atlas explain why he was in WWE?
Thunderbolt Patterson was NO DOUBT far more important to wrestling than Dr. D was. Thunderbolt was a huge draw. Before saying stupid shit, go look it up yourself. Plenty of history available on google.
I remember a tape a friend of mine had of this show from several years ago. Shultz DID make racial remarks. All you need to do is watch ALL the videos of this episode and you'll hear them. You'll also see Morton try to calm him down and go against what he was saying.
Thunderbolt Patterson was a terrible wrestler, hence the reason Ole Anderson stomped a knot-hole in his ass when he cost them the National Tag Team Titles.
why yo punk craccer ass stay hiding behind a fucc'n comp and saying nigger and wouldn't say it to no one's face, cause you a pussy and would get yo head smashed honky muthafucca, that's excluding cool equals on here who happen to be white, but you are a pussy, "why are niggers always whining about racism? you dumb piece of shit yell
I remember my brother watched this show and I could hear the TV and the arguing. It kept me awake. Sometimes I complained for him to turn it off, lol.
here's the thing people david schultz only spoke the truth because these guys were nothin but bry baby losers who didn't get there way so they had to blame it on something i've been around the business and if u aint got what it takes then you'll go nowhere and obviously they didn't have what it takes......... hats off to ya MR.Schultz

KitlerAdolf 1 year ago 2
Agreed. Ted Arcidi was a terrible wrestler, almost immobile. His career was a direct result of Vince McMahon's weird fetish for musclemen. He doesn't even have any business on the same stage with that nutjob Dr D, let along T-bolt Patterson.

At 1:28 David Shultz ,in his anger, accidently exposes the buisness. He says to T-Bolt Patterson the he was a star because "they gave you the top spot, they gave you a push" well, if wrestling was a real, legitmimate sport then there would be no such thing as a push.
Lfdjake91 2 years ago 27
@Lfdjake91 thats a loud mouthed gemini for you.
PanayotiProductions 1 year ago
@Lfdjake91
Why? Because he if he does not perform he does not get a push.
twainname 1 year ago 2
@Lfdjake91 Not necessarily. That could just mean (to those that aren't smart to the business) that they gave him the opportunity to wrestle against top guys - an opportunity to prove if he could compete at their level. You could compare it to a quarterback who gets to play in the game ( A PUSH) and prove himself as opposed to a second or third string quarterback who rarely plays. Now does the fact that some quarterbacks are first string and others are on the bench mean football is fake?
Kendall2001 5 months ago
@Lfdjake91 actually even if wrestling was real a push could consist of a specific wrestler's match coming on at a specific time vs another specific wrestler

bottom line is: you dont do a no-show for a promoted event. people have gone through much much worse than patterson since his days; things he would never have dreamed could happen. you walk out on a wrestling promoter, you will be lucky to EVER wrestle again. he had some mic skills but was always put against top talent and that was his push. what you do with the push is up to you, and he failed and then cried. anyway dont take this too serious the show was as scripted as wrestling too.

Whatever DID happen to Ted Arcidi by the way? There's no information about him getting the boot from the WWF.
The Arcidi LJN action figure looks ridiculous though; curly mullet with a build worthy of massive steroid abuse.

LOL!

On a serious note, this show was nothing but a witch-hunt against poor old Jim Wilson. At 1:46, Dr. D makes a remark "Just because you're black, you think somebody owes you somethin!" That is so out of line considering Dr. D knows he is lying about wrestling....
all028 2 years ago
Why is that out of line? He was lying to protect is profession and the business that put food on his families table. thunderbolt was looking for a hand out and making excuses for why he never made it big like Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas.
DavidValley 2 years ago
Oh, I acknowledge he was lying to protect the business. I have another post that says the same thing in part 1 of this video. But the remark is out of line because it was proven later thunderbolt was right and was discriminated against. One promoter (who went out of business) admitted it later on...
all028 2 years ago
Thunderbolt Patterson couldnt hold Dr. D's jockstrap.
I remember him in WCW, he was awful. He didnt draw crap. Maybe in those small redneck towns in the south but never in any towns worth anything.
Dr. D was huge in AWA and set to be Hogans arch rival in WWF before he got fired for slapping that ass John Stossel. The guy was years ahead of his time. He was Stone Cold before Steve Austin ever hit the ring.
bigtime93 2 years ago
If your talking about his time there in the early 90's then yeah he did suck because he was in his 50's by that point. Patterson was an incredible talent, watch him back in his day wrestling for the funks in amaraillo, or boesch in houston or out in california or even during his tag run with ole anderson. The guy was trained by Pat O'connor one of the best wrestlers ever period.
Dr.D wasn't huge in the AWA he was built up to job out to Bockwinkel. As some of these guys like to say: EPIC FAIL!
TwistedSand 2 years ago
Thunderbolt was 165 years old, bad hips, bad knees, and just burned out by 1985. He really didn't even belong in a ring at that point. His wardrobe was passe, his interviews were terrible. Now when you compare that T-Bolt to the one I saw on tape from his prime... LAWD have MERCY! The guy could sell ice to eskimos, extemely gifted on the mic. In the ring,if you saw Dusty Rhodes, you know who he got his antics in the ring from. Rhodes has admitted it several times
bacardilvr 2 years ago

The biggest joke of this pathetic show, was Acedi screaming that Dr D paid his dues. Thunderbolt was a sensation in Georgia in 1965 right up to the early 80s. I think turning pro in 1965 in height of the civil rights movement would DEFINE "paying your dues." It was Dr D that was a terrible performer, that never drew a crowd.

depper 2 years ago
You need to think before you type. That's $100,000 a year.
He was a superstar. He got a % of the gate. That's how you made a living. All black talents were discriminated against in those days. But he tried to work through that abuse. And he did.
He's a role model. Didnt get famous by taking steroids like the overpaid talentless pretty boys of today. Oh, and he made more than Acidi AND Dr D combined, IN an earlier generation.
depper 2 years ago
How do you know they were being discriminated against what federation were you wrestling in?
cwb32 2 years ago
Because Im intelligent. I know the history of wrestling. And I know the history of the 1960s and 70's. He made a lot of money because he was a big "face" in the South. He was a regular.
He was portrayed horribly here. However, I think he comes off great compared to Acidi and Schultz, who were FAR more entertaining here then they EVER WERE in the wrestling business. They were gigantic failures.
depper 2 years ago
we'll evidently you dont have a eye for wrestling talent because he was a terrible wrestler and at promo's.He got the push to the top because he was black and they wanted black viewers to tune in.Like i said pepper the only color in wrasslin is Green baby! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's so funny to see how backwards things were just 20 years ago, not 50.
cbaldwinjr 2 years ago
Funny how Lou Albano and Dave Shultz claim to not know what a "blade job" was, I agree with Thunderbolt Patterson, hell watch the Hulk Hogan / Tony Atlas video where Hulk call's him "Boy" a few times and tell's him to shine his shoes. That was the mindset in wrestling, but then again they had to realize they weren't in church.
xracer09 2 years ago
Whats funny about this interview is the ONLY LEGEND of wrestling out of anybody on that stage is Thunderbolt Patterson. If you look at the legends websites, its Thunderbolt Patterson that travels and does appearances. He WAS a HUGE draw in the 60s and 70s, and its easy to google to see pictures. Acidi and Shultz have NEVER been called legend. Thunderbolt paid his dues.
depper 2 years ago
If Patterson was such a legend like you claim he was,he wouldn't have been whining like an 8 year old schoolgirl on national television.Sounds to me like he was bitter that Vince McMahon didn't give him a chance and if that was because he was black, how would Tony Atlas explain why he was in WWE?
landrykkb 2 years ago
Thunderbolt Patterson was NO DOUBT far more important to wrestling than Dr. D was. Thunderbolt was a huge draw. Before saying stupid shit, go look it up yourself. Plenty of history available on google.
