hmm, i wonder if they someone made a cartoon in the same vein as pole position, but have it loosely based on Ridge Racer. i probably would think it would have some sort of Fast and the Furious motif.
Thanks for sharing. I have spent the last several years trying to remember the song from this show. I guess I should have looked on YouTube sooner. I hope I can find this show on disc someday. My guess is that I won't be able to find it. A pity I didn't know how to record things back then. This song gave me the chills back then. I try to remember things from the 80s and can't remember everything. This song haunts me...

I miss unique toonns & toys from the toons. I wish Hub, WGN Retro, & Cartoon Network would get blocks of these to air on Weekend Mornings. Imagine the ratings they could get. Why can't they understand that? Anybody know what I mean? Thumbs this up, & email the idea to the networks repeatedly. Indifference achieves nothing.
@stow123 LOL that is funny! Maybe that's why the show only lasted 13 episodes. The theme tune was TOO good, making it more interesting than the show, and they still lost viewers.
Just a few more, Kid Video, The Inhumanoids, Jem, The Snorks, BugsBunny RoadRunner Show, Captain N (Nintendo), The SilverHawks, Inspector Gadget, DangerMouse, The Pacman Show, The Gobots, The ShirtTales(SP) Turbo Teen, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. You folks wish I hit the lottery and I'll find a way to get a station up for us even on the internet, lol. Cartoon Network will be dead in 6 months. It'll be Saturday everyday, and Saturday will just be scary.LMAO!!!
@Blackheartrises we even had specials that came on when CBS,NBC, and ABC would show clips of the coming Falls new T.V. shows for Saturday mornings. It was usually on a the week before the new schedule on a Friday night. Goddammit, give the kids' back their day, let them be kids as long as "F'ing possible. Stop stealing their youth happiness and wonderment, dammit, we all know the shyt that's waiting for them.
@Blackheartrises Ha! You have a winner list there! I loved all those shows! Cartoon Network is already dead now with the crap they have on there now. These shows bring back so many cool memories. Don't forget the '70s either!
If this was made into a movie, who do you think should be cast? For DAN, I'd cast PAUL WALKER; for TESS, I'd cast ZOE DESHANEL; for DAISY, I'd cast JOEY KING from "Ramona & Beezus"; for DR. ZACHARY, I'd cast TIM GUNN from "Project Runway." What do you think of these choices?
I remember this cartoon when the bugs bunny road runner show was airing in the 80's! I have to admit great quality on this video man! This cartoon is one of classics on Saturday mornings. You would get up 4;30 in the morning starting with Robotech, with a bowl of cereal.Chill out on the couch with your brothers, and sisters . Watching cartoons till 12"30 Ending with the road runner show! This is classic.
@popalock1000 no kidding, you talking about those REAL Saturday mornings. Back when Saturday belonged to the kids. I feel bad for them now. We had a day meant for us, not to remind us of school, just to laugh our asses off. Dungeons and Dragons, Pole Position, Herculoids, Galaxy High, Thundarr the Barbarian, Robotech, Battle of The Planets, Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, Mighty Orbots, The Littles, we had the juice, feel bad for the kids though. This was just the weekend mind you, lol.
This cartoon was KICK ASS! Even though I was born at the start of the 90's, had this on video, twas sweet! Ahh, anybody know if I can get this on dvd in Australia? And if so, where? The video cassette only had 4 episodes on it.
No wonder this generation is all fucked up in the head, do you see the bullshit that's on TV these days geared to kids? If Emmit Brown rolled up in the Delorean and asked me what decade I want to relive, it definitely would be the 80s....or maybe the 90s for that matter lol
I grew up on the 80's cartoons and this is the best music of them all!!!! Can any one find the instrumental to this song???? Fucking awsome music of all itme!!!!!!!!
I used to watch this cartoon when i was 5, the bad part was it was only on for one season. I forgot the name over time but i still had a memory of the theme song and now 7 years ago i found it and have all the episodes but the last three. It's really a shame that the kids today can't experience what I used to do every saturday morning. I still wish it will come back. As a matter of fact does anyone remember the after school cartoons, like Thundercats, He-man, Go Bots, M.A.S.K. ect. ah memories
Hao!! Hao!! Hao!! Hao!! Hao!! Holy crap I used to get up and dance to this shit when I was like 8. This was in the days before remote controls on TV were common; I had to blocade my sister from changing the channel to She-ra or my little pony or some other garbage cartoon. Pole position rocks, modern cartoons are a bunch of useless crap. You CAN'T TOUCH the opening credits, the hardcore keyboard, or 80's hair band lyrics of oldschool cartoons. New stuff blows.
@navyavi469 Amen to that. good days. What happened in the world that made the studios stop making cartoons like this? Miss those Saturday mornings where I actually got up voluntarily just to watch cartoons at 6 am but when it came to getting up for school at 6 am 2 days later I couldnt have cared less. Shows where my priorities were and also shows what quality these shows were then. They ruled and I miss it. But at least we got to experience it first hand.
@frankmilitary Speed Racer was about a racer who fought bad guys. Pole Postition was stunt drivers who were secret agents. Pole Position had more in common with Knight Rider.
For some reason I didnt remember the older two siblings but i remember the little girl, the cat and the talking car...lol...and of course, the theme song...Thanks again for uploading
I was looking up Knight Rider, found out there was a Knight Rider spin off series called Team Knight Rider which was kind of like this cartoon.. It only last one season and I read that Michael and Kitt were going to show up in the second season if the show had remain on the air.. That's funny..
This cartoon looks like a cartoon version of Knight Rider without what's his name.. Put in two cars and two kids without Kid and Michael and you have this cartoon instead of Knight Rider... But cool intro song, but still kind of cheesy...
Maybe, but Knight Rider came out in 1982 and this cartoon came out in 1984.
But Knight Rider was still a good show, would of like to see a cartoon version of it... Maybe one day someone might buy the rights to this cartoon series and have a cross over series with Knight Rider and Pole postion. It would be cool to see a update Pole Postion cartoon or maybe a live action movie where the brother character is taken out and replace with a boyfriend for the older sister.. But that's just me..
damm I was 5 the first time than I saw it I only remember the blue car with that computer robot but I never imagine a theme so cool good stuff I'll put it on cellphone
Dan's car was a fictional machine. Tess was skill and formality while Dan was raw talent. Tess could beat Dan on a race track but Dan would own any living being on the street. Tess never made a mistake but Dan could all but wipe out and still take the win. Tess was Ryu to Dan's Ken if you know Street Fighter at all. They were the ultimate team, just like Ryu and Ken.
I remember this was the first cartoon in which I saw kissing (not including Looney Tunes.) It was just the sister kissing some dude...but at 8 years of age, that was some crazy stuff to see on screen! I liken it to seeing my first Playboy.
This happened before Robotech, and before Jem and the Holograms, and probably paved the way for total tongue-kissing. Especially since everyone was kissing like crazy on those cartoons. Even that Minmay's cousin tongue-kissed her. BAAAAARF
Loved this show and the theme, though I admit to making fun of the fact that 80s cartoon themes couldn't seem to go more than two sentences without mentioning the title. Especially my other favorites like Transformers, GI Joe and Jem.
God don't you guys just love the 80's intros! I'm 30 and kids these days don't have what we had back in the day. The real intros and people singing their hearts out ha ha ha ha!
I've been flashing back to all the intros cartoons I used to watch as a child! Thundercats, She-Ra, He-man, Silver Hawks and the Transformers. I can't believe you had Pole Position. The kids these days don't know what they're missing out on--the Saturday morning cartoons and after school cartoons. I wish I could go back to the good ole days!

Damn, I wonder what a Ridge Racer cartoon would be like if Namco licensed that series out to a cartoon company.

Sounds to me like Kenny Loggins sang this!

I second that! Just listen to Dangerzone. The vocals on Orbots sounds like Kenny Loggins to me as well.
