  • technically 4:05 is both Canada and the US since Niagara Falls lies on the US/Canadian border and is split down the middle with both countries owning a half

  • Sorry HomelandStupidity but I think its a lovely video and if I were waiting in line to get through customs I would rather have this to watch than just watching aggitated travelers who don't understand the need for our heightened security. Thanks for sharing the video.

  • @MyHiOhio Last time I came through it was LAX and the people watching would've been 1000x better without the corny music playing in the background.

  • The place from which that shot was taken is on the Canadian side. Therefore, it's Canada.

  • Niagara Falls is partially in the United States!

I don't like this video because it is very PC and trying to paint a picture that the United States is this diverse and integrated country which has some truth but a whole lot of inaccuracy.

Welcome to the land of Liberty.

  • Yeah 4:05 is Canada.

  • It's been mentioned, but I don't care: 4:05 is the most blatant misrepresentation I've ever seen. Ever.

  • I love watching this video! Such a nice welcoming.

  • I think this is an absolutely wonderful video and I feel proud knowing this is shown to our visitors from abroad as they enter our Country! You guys can be so friggin NEGATIVE on here!

  • i like when the bear bites the fish's face. i lol'd

  • I am German and it always brings a smile to my face when I wait at immigration and watch this video. I think it is awesome and it makes me feel good to visit the US. I wish we would have something like that instead of just unfriendly border police at Frankfurt or Munich airport.

  • @MrThatsrightbaby oh get over yourself...honestly! I'm sick of people like you trying to make me feel guilty or that I owe a debt to some one, I have done nothing wrong! I work hard for what money I do have and live a comfortable life within my means in this great country. I don't rob, steal or cheat and I'm not going to apologize for the successes I have achieved in my life, so back off!

  • I remember this playing in Houston airport right before they pulled my colored ass for questioning with some other black people

  • @rastacoolie LOL! Irony, eh? Welcome to Canada. I know that made no sense. Yep, for a true sense of America, they should of filmed THAT and incorporated it into the video.

  • @rastacoolie. What's wrong with profiling black people? Aren't black people responsible for 90% of crime in the US even though they represent only 17% of the population? Isn't it simply prudent crime prevention, like paying extra attention to the contents of the luggage carried by Pakistani and Saudi males who do 99% of the terrorism. Like checking Romanians for false passports and other people's wallets. Like checking for green-cards amongst the dudes looking for work outside home depot.

  • Wow way to make America look...well white. Clearly this person has only lived in the midwest and northwest areas where people of diversity are lacking. Also this is just a bit creepy!

  • The United States Is A Country founded on Paganism . The founding documents and symbols of the United States of America describe Pagan deities and concepts. America ,very concept of democracy came from the Pagan Greeks and The Pagan Romans. The first Americans ,did not practice ,Christianity ,at all. Native Indians lived in America thousands of years before , Christians invaded their land. Can forget how Blacks were treated here"Slavery " ,were the justice?.

  • I hate this country.....

Enslaving it's own people granting amnesty to illegals killing people overseas in cold blood....

    FUCK THIS FUCKING COUNTRY!!!

  • Ya they only show one Native American guy because the rest of my ancestors were forced off their lands...good video, but common, seriously?

  • @alias215

A lot of them were killed before any displacement even happened...

  • This video makes me chills every time I'm seeing it. :D

  • I've been living in europe my whole life.. been in the US three times and I'll move there in august :D The greatest place in the world.

  • @niceley335

The government is out of control and we have constant wars illegal alien amnesties and overtaxation.........

    Please don't move here....

  • @NinjaChampionKO still like a billion times better than europe... see u in America :-)

  • @niceley335

I suggest Eugene Oregon or West Valley Utah...

  • @NinjaChampionKO oh, why?? I'll keep that in mind

  • i've been living in europe for 5 years now... and whenever im homesick i watch this video... i love america and cant wait to move back !

  • I have been around the world numerous times. I kiss the ground every time I arrive home. This is the land of FREE and home of the BRAVE!!! I have lived in other countries and speak other languages and appreciate their cultures etc, but there is something special about this great country. BTW: Who did that AWESOME MUSIC track????

  • disney could promote a poop flavored popsicle and sell it like a champ lol

  • lol the Niagra falls seen shot was pure Canadian. and also i want to respond to what chicagoguy's comment by saying that Canada has a lot more and much better scenery and landmarks the america

  • @duffman5094 the hawaiian islands, the frost of alaska, the beaches of florida, and the canyons of southwest. Way better than there. and more diverse.

  • This video makes me so proud to be an American! America, and its people are so beautiful.

  • except your government and people who try to control the world.

  • For a price. Dont forget all those innocent people murdered around the world by US forces so that you Mr. America can live such a fortunate lifestyle. There is blood on your hands whether you choose to play ignorance to that or not. What price freedom?

  • I love this video! )))

  • what a joke. I didnt see one gay couple. Are we not considered part of the american community? In fact, I didn't see any lesbians, transexuals, drag queens, punk rockers.... this reeks of disney's whitewashing some namby-pamby image of americans. where are all the homeless people in this video? did they hide them? it's all fluff. i'd prefer to watch the australian 'where the bloody hell are you?' campaign. Aussies are far more realistic when it comes to this kind of advertising.

  • @str8man8 True. I didn't like that, either and they hardly showed footgae of people of color, patricularly Native Americans, the real Americans. Thye only showed one. Yeah, Walt Disney was involved in peophilia.

  • I love my job I get to listen to this music every night...it is the middle and ending parts of Epcot's Illuminations music movements sometimes I am proud that I work for Disney it is nice to come back through customs and seeing this kind of theme playing instead of just facing the strict inspections

  • I'm with "luft9989." it may be cheesy but it definitely pulls at you if you've spent 5 months in Europe.... it's a nice touch.

  • I tell you what though, even though it's clearly propaganda, when I saw this video while waiting in customs to return home after spending 3 months abroad almost made me cry. Cheesey though it is, it reminded me that I was home now.

  • All I can say is...great music! A damn good job at 7 minutes worth. hope the composer was well paid! :)

  • to put up*

  • PS.. its kinda petty for canadians to be arguing over a frame shot. I guess when you have so few things to be proud of(like a landmark you share with another country).. you tend to be a put up a big fight.

  • Wouldn't a sign saying 'welcome' have done the trick?

  • HomelandStupidity,

That customs line up, and screening is for your protection as an American. As a someone from a foreign country, I respect the daunting task that your Department of Homeland Security is responsible for.

If you hate the United States so much, why don't you leave.

  • @richmondrk You sound like a dumb American and I am AFRICAN American....derrrr

  • @HappyHookerTV I am actually Canadian. Your comments about being African American Puzzle me. What relevance does that have. I don't believe I made any previous comment about your race.

    Have a pleasant day.

  • so.....WHOLESOME! i may be sick.

  • I love the little baby dyke at 2:31

    Priceless!!! :D

I agree that as cheesy as it is, there is nothing wrong with welcoming people. It really IS cheesy though! Jeesh!

  • What a propaganda! But you know what? I love it; I can't wait until I will finally be able to go to the US myself. There are so many beautiful spots to discover. Granted, every country has its bad sides, but there are plenty of good things too...

  • Everyone knows that there are more Muslims than firefighters. I thought that was common knowledge.

  • One of the most stupid comment I've ever read

  • I'd just like everyone to notice that it's 44 seconds before an African American appears.

    I'm just sayin'.

  • Let's see. 12.8% of the American population is African American. The video is 440 seconds long and the video is just 10% through when the first African American appears. There is 337 seconds of people time.

The actual airtime devoted to African Americans in the 337 seconds featuring people is 43 seconds. 12.8% of the movie.

The time devoted to muslims is double that devoted to Fire-Fighters.

    I'm just sayin'

  • How do you know some of those white people weren't the descendants of South Africans? Hence African Americans.

I saw more time devoted to fish than I did to anglo-saxon protestant people with freckles. It's a travesty I tells ya!

    Just sayin'

  • How do I know "some of those white people weren't the descendants of South Africans? Hence African Americans."

Then they'd be Afrikaan Americans, or perhaps African Amerikaaners.

    Just Saying there man (lecker)

  • @ClownFight Sweetie, the reeason why the descendants of slave in America call ourseles African Americans is because we don't know what tribe we came from, nor were the current countries in Africa established at the time of the slave trade, hence why we claim the whole continent. Now, if you are from South Africa, then you are SOUTH AFRICAN American, just as you would GHANIAN AMERICAN, or CONGOLESE AMERICAN, which is no different than GERMAN AMERICAN OR IRISH AMERICAN. Africa is no longer

  • @HappyHookerTV . The reply was to address dirtyfighter34's notion that some of the WHITE people may have been descendants of WHITE South Africans and hence may be called African Americans. I think he was being facetious and I replied with the more apt phrase Afrikaan Americans as the white South Africans are more commonly called Afrikaaner. Lighten up there Hooker.

  • @ClownFight Are you calling me a Hooker in the facestious sense or the fastidious - serious - sense? It is sex worker if the intention's the latter.

  • @HappyHookerTV . I'm familiar with the "hooker" interpretation you describe, though I used the term hooker as an abbreviation of your username HappyHookerTV. We both know the Happy Hooker was a book by Xaviera Hollander about a prostitute later made into a movie starring Lynn Redgrave (I worked with her father Sir Michael). It seems appropriate in the era of TV that one might infer that your username makes reference to that occupation. Indeed your channel is dedicated to such pursuits.

  • @ClownFight or ever was "the Dark Continent" and they are 48 political unit meaning countries in Africa. So just as a German doesn't claim the whole of Europe by calling themselves European American, nor should the modern day Africans claim the whole continent of Africa when they are knowingly are descended from Guinea, Congo, Chad, etc.

  • and i'm talking about this one

  • When in Seattle my Canadian friends were asked to pose for this video. Those friendly faces you see are Canadians. Hehe.

  • I think it's nice. I've lived abroad in three different countries other than the U.S. and have never been welcomed or shown a video like this. You can complain all you want but it's a nice thought and first impressions do matter. People might feel welcomed by this and if so, then it is a positive thing. Relax!

  • Why would anyone put a negative to this comment. I can't believe how disrespectful people are in this thread, especially to a post that is trying to be positive amongst all this bickering.

  • Dear citizens of Canada, the world doesn't care what side of the Niagra Falls are shown. They probably don't even know Niagra Falls is part of Canada. I didn't until seeing this debate. So please don't make yourselves look arrogant for other people's poor education on the subject. You can be more respectful and state facts rather than making insulting remarks.

  • i can see that using the canadian side of the falls is wrong since this is suppose to be about american tourism.. but if you think about it... the canadian side IS the side we see when we visit NF.. so i guess it IS picturing the experience americans and the tourist get when they travel to NF.

  • EVERYONE knows who got the best view side of the falls, let them make themselves look bad LOL

They are just jelous, lol and with good right LMAO

  • propaganda piece?! what propaganda is it espousing? to me it looks like a video of people and places (aside from the specific area of niagra falls) in this country that make it a nice place to visit.

  • Smiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile !

  • I hate the fact that America thinks they can get away with anything, like for example "mistaking" the Canadian falls for American.

    And American beer is soft.

  • Cronerd, How would you feel if we made a video called Portraits of Canada and shot beautiful footage of America and put it in our video and tried to pass it off as our country? The reason people are angry is because there are 3 parts to Niagra falls and two of them lay in the US. They aren't the famous horseshoe falls but they are quite lovely. To shoot the one waterfall in Canada while standing in Canada to shoot it...Isn't that kind of an insult to both our countries?

  • Yes, but other Canadians weren't explaining it, they were just complaining and insulting Americans. There is a difference. Besides, this isn't the forum to make such comments to begin with. If you have a problem with it, contact the Amercian Embassy in Canada. We can't do anything about it, we are just regular people.

  • This is the forum to make such comments, as I do have a right to free speech, just not exclusively. It is sad too that you feel that you can't do anything because you're just "regular people." Maybe a regular person can't but people en masse can. I don't think the American embassy cares about the complaints of Canadians, the better response would come if Americans got together and said "Hey, our country is beautiful and we don't need to show Canada and pretend it's ours to showcase our country

  • that was actually pretty cool, it reminds me of soarin over california, and for the ANAL CANADIANS GET A LIFE AND STOP BITCHING ABOUT NIAGARA FALLS, were not saying it ours were just portraying the beauty of it,AT LEAST WE DONT HAVE BEER STORES LOL

  • I think this was just an attempt to use stock footage that Disney already owned to keep cost down. I am sure they never thought there would be such hoopla over 2 seconds of video showing a water fall that lies on the border. Just like the background music is Illuminations, the firework show at Epcot another way to keep cost low.

  • treeuy, the falls are not shared history, the falls are Canadian. and to show it in the video is fine (because you CAN view them from the US side) but there should be some mention of them belonging to Canada. that is a load of crap!!! look like the US is trying to slowly take over another country by lies. When are they going to start to claiming that Canada has Weapons of Mass Destruction?

  • Disney just rewrote American History again?! People within the States, take a history lesson in some other country. You will find that what you have been taught, is not the actual history that the world knows. Liberty Bell,Boston Tea Party, etc, its all interwoven with lies! Did you all know that Canada won the in a war in which the Americans tried to invade Canada! Yes, it is true, you lost a war with Canada, check it out...

  • Boy I thought that was the British? I was sure the French Indian War was in 1754. While the brunt of the work was done by the colonist that would later form America and Canada, the war was just a cheese game between France and Britain. Then again, I did get my history here in the US, so who knows that may have been re-written in the north.

  • The reference to Canada beating the US was in the war of 1812. Techincally no one won that war but if u look at loss of life and land defended Canada would be the winner. We sustained less loss and we didn't loose an inch of land.

  • Well I think the same would hold true with 1812. That was an American British war and while I am sure we could go on for days over the provocation and justification for it. In reality it was just a wrap up match to solidify American independence from Britain. It was a long sad war with great loss of life, but it did serve as a defining moment in telling Americans they could actually get behind this country.

  • That we were not just a fluke that would fade away in a decade, which at the time was a common opinion. That said, as I understand my history the war of 1812 was that all land went back to pre-war boundaries with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent, ie... "status quo ante bellum" Either way I would not really say this war was with Canada as we know it today. Just as the French Indian war was not really a Canada/US war. We were both colonist at the time, and Canada was not separate until 1867.

  • America is not perfect, but for that matter no country is. I think America is a great place not because we are perfect but because we realize we are not yet strive to be. I think most will concede that we do not hold a patent on this ideal, but we do hold it close in our hearts. (sorry, 500 char limit)

  • Weren't we fighting the French at the time?

  • i cannot understand how Americans can be so relentless in their "Dub-Yay" way of thinking. To film the Falls in Canada, showing the Canadian Falls and then calling it American is quite STUPID! This is how they claimed that oil in the middle east is it not!

anyhow, good luck with Bush, 'cause luck is what you are going need...

  • WTF do waterfalls have anything to do with Oil. They are just waterfalls. Look I have one in my backyard, big deal.

  • niagra falls is a shared heritage of the US and canada with no border line running through the middle. no need to bunch up the panties over 2 seconds of footage

  • If america is so great why did Disney have to use footage of Canadian landmark the Horseshoe Falls, in Niagara Falls, Ontario? This video filled with little, white, half-naked blond boys engaging in homosocial activities makes me ill. According to Disney, the US is made up of 90% white people, 60% cowboys n country folk, part of Canada, lots of happy pregnant women, smiling pretty babies and a firefighter that looks eerily like Jorge Dubbya "Impeach my" Bush.

  • The US actually IS 60% cowboys and country folk. Suburbs are 'not' city life. Most people that live in cities weren't born there. The US is a LONG way from being a country of mostly 'city-folk.' They just happen to run our media. America wants to appear as an urban country to the world, but that isn't our only face, nor our largest one.

  • You're right, xhancock. I prefer the city now that I am older, but I grew up across the road from a big ol' corn field! And when I drive back to my hometown, I pass all kinds of country life. Just miles and miles of it sometimes. Haha, could you imagine plain folk doing the news? That would be refreshingly honest!!!

  • Nice that the Americans who made this managed to confirm their country's reputation as being ignorant in geography.

  • Um yeah. Showing the one part of Niagra Falls that is Canadian and calling it American? Not cool. Standing on the Canadian side to get that shot and STILL calling it American? Really not cool.

  • i love my country

  • Aww :)

  • It would actually be a nice video, except for its purpose: "Wow, what a great place! We're so lucky to be here! It's totally worth the anal probe!"

  • where and when did you receive your anal probe?

  • The Horseshoe Falls is now on US soil, congratulations on your new land claim.

  • Reminds me of the first scene in 1984...something like:

    "Who are we?

We are the workers and soldiers of Oceania

    Who are they?

    The savage hoardes of Eurasia."

  • They may suck at protecting the public, but they are very good at protecting their power.
