  • END THE FED mr. turk (don't know your name)

  • good deal, good deal, lets hope they have put the regulation back into publi hands again, btw cenk, was he proposal for refrom?

  • This is misleading... When I saw "republican does the right thing" as the title... I was expecting to see a suicide....

  • The Fed is even worse than Cenk suggests in the first minute. Even at the national level, its records remain mostly hidden from public scrutiny. The Fed was set up by bankers and remains a private institution.

  • its called ad blocka'

  • Fuckit i'm done with this channel these god damned commercials...

  • You realize that if you hit refresh the second you see the commercial come up, you can avoid it. Either way, you need to chill. it's just 15-30 seconds, and I'm sure you aren't on a strict time schedual if you're sitting in front of our computer perusing youtube.

  • Yeah it probly shouldn't bother me that much.. but it does. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

  • Don't get me wrong, I feel the same way. It makes me NOT want to buy these products, lol.

  • try using Mozilla Firefox with Adblocker Plus

  • Thanks I'll give it a shot.

  • k bye.....

  • The Federal Reserve board is a private corporation but the directors and chairman are appointed by the US government though the people doing the appointing are bought by the bankers or insiders from the banks.. it's an "inside job" in every sense of the word

  • END THE FED!

  • Where has all the gold gone?

There has been no audit of Ft.Knox since 1992.

Sack Geithner (he's a Fed shill)

    Audit the FED.

Prosecute Goldmann Sachs for the AIG scam they pulled.

    Put Grayson on the case.

    And FUCK FOX!

  • Nixon stopped the redemption of gold in 1971 and nobody is allowed to go into FT Knox to inspect the gold reserves.. I doubt if there is any gold left .. there was a lot of gold in the Federal Reserve Bank of NYC in WTC 7 building only a little of it was found in an abandon truck in the basement

  • mr obama. fire geithner, and hire cenk.

    serious.

  • Thank for you making a video critical of the Federal Reserve that doesn't mention the NWO, Free-Masons or 9/11.

  • Ron Paul is republican and has always done the right thing.

  • The foxes are guarding the henhouse and then got the farmer to give them more chickens. Welllll doggie...

  • our current system is good the problem is that liberals have pushed so much regulation, and taxed them so much, they have to resort to these sordid means to make money, if obama would just lower these damn taxes, maybe america could get out of the economic recession he created and we can go back to defending freedom all around the world

  • What? You do realize the recession was almost a full year in effect when Obama became President? Have you been living under a rock or something? Obama hasn't done much since taking office, mainly because there is so much Republican opposition but what he has done seems to be working. I mean the Dow has hit 10,000 for the first time in over a year.

Your comment is remarkably similar to those that got us into this mess. Higher tax for the poor, lower it for the corps.

  • Dude the dow is up cause the dollar is loosing value and the public companies we trade on the dow jones are firing there work force to save money. Theres no jobs being created by this so called recoverery.

  • The dollar lost it's value like 3 years ago. I know because I often changed my money for Euro or vice versa and the exchange rate was terrible and still is if you want to convert dollars to euro, sterling or a few others.

As for jobs, employment is always the last thing to recover in a recession. Companies don't start to employ again until they have a solid positive rate of income and a lot of companies are beginning to see a return to profit. It just takes time and patience.

  • you do know what taxes are for, dont you?

TAXES = INCOME for the government

now, thats a broad generalization, but you get it.

  • True, but the government in turn provides infrastructure, schools, research, national security, etc, etc, etc...

Now I'm not claiming it always does those things particularly well, but you get it.

  • Wall Street created the recession through greed. The free marketers gutted regulation and of course Wall Street being the infinitely creative mafioso that they are, invented new products for which no regulation was written anyway. Not that many people in the financial community understood derivatives anyway. They lost their bets (thanks AIG!) and now we're picking up the tab for their markers. To big to fail? Too big to bail out I say.

  • Dude, start with your own Country.

and we cant give, Money to other Countries,

when your own country needs the money.

    come on!.

Have you seen the paychecks, that was given to Halliburton and KBR.

If you lower the taxes, of the rich people,

I dont know how far its gonna take you.

    Bush already lowered that.

    the recession was in 2008.

so obviously Bush must have done something wrong.

  • Do you have a comma fetish or something?

  • learn how to properly use a comma

  • I hope you're not a native speaker of English.

  • Hey guys, subscribe to my show, The Third Hour. A progressive talk show similar to The Young Turks.

Watch and Subscribe, more videos on the way tommorow!

  • Cenk shows signs of intelligence but always loses colours when he opens his mouth about "real" bipartisanship or capitalism.

  • What can we do to stop people from watching CNN Fox and CNBC? Hell throw on MSNBC while your at it, they're not much better. These stations are reeking havoc on American political thought.

  • Well, Republicans have done right things before (Abraham Lincoln, for example), but I am glad one did just recently!

  • I hate it when I agree with Cenk

  • Now some of us knew this all along. THERE"S NO SUCH THING AS SELF-REGULATION in a system that upholds greed as a motivating factor. Self-regulation requires self-control & a sense of moderation. Greed is THE ABSENCE of both in the desire to acquire & consume. Saying rich bankers can regulate themselves is like saying a rampant junkie can stay clean with no oversight or peer support system. Greed is NEVER satisfied & thus will NEVER moderate or regulate itself.

  • Man! Are there any responsible adults in this tribe of Masters of the Universe? Elliott Spitzer, we need you now...

  • This should be, key word should, be supported by every republican and democrat because they work for us. Of course they don't work for us because we can't possibly pay them as much as people who are literally printing their own money. The game is beyond rigged. The game is almost over. Our economy was driven into the ground by this system of privatize gain and public risk. These guys have not only not been punished for last years meltdown, they are being rewarded more than EVER BEFORE!

  • Republicans always do the RIGHT thing these days. That wasn't always the case but that's what you get when your once great party gets spoon fed by ultra-capitalists.

  • the fed is private not public

  • The fed is both. It's independent of the government but has a specific mandate to service both the people and the government though it does have an internal bureaucracy similar to many private banks.

  • Banks regulating themselves cause the meltdown. And they are letting them do it again?. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • Some group of rich people plans all this stuff. It's like playing a game you're in charge of with money being the prize. A set up can be organized. We are a society of players and power addicts. Jesus might be watching, but i think he might be telling God to just let it run it's course. Life and greed never really change. Everyone "important" wants to be important, and steal legally from the honest classes.

  • It's comical how lefties are still bashing Republicans while they have the entire congress. Too in denial to realize the Democrat party isn't so pro-change after-all I suppose.

  • The politicians are not in power. Its the lobbyists.

Not the Republicans. Not the Democrats. Not the Independents. Its big business that runs the White House, Senate, House of Representatives, Congress and about anything else related to Government.

  • Only in America are they called lobbyists.

In every other industrialized nation on Earth, they are called bribers and they are an illegal entity.

  • You know it.

  • Am I surprised no, am I disgusted yes. I hope these people come up on every charge possible there is to be laid on them. If you can't get them to rot in jail, then the American public needs to start civil lawsuits against these people. Also watch the products that you buy, I remember seeing a huge list showing different corporations like GE and they are the ones who produce the weapons of war. SO MANY COMMON NAME BRANDS THAT WE BUY FUND WEAPONS OF WAR!

  • Yeah, thats true. For a fact I know that GE makes the Gatling gun and that company that makes those robot vacuum cleaners (i Robot) makes those military robots that they use to go into buildings and what not. Most people don't know that...

  • so? would you rather us have no weapons?

  • Since they are supplying both sides, yes.

  • lol wha? nato countries and who else? Pakistan?

    N. Korea? Seriously though I'm not saying you're wrong but who are they supplying besides the US and friendly countries. Even if they were its not like they're giving them the best stuff. I'd rather us have some of the best equipment out there and they have some leftover junk than us have nothing.

  • I wouldn't call Israel "friendly" and we give them a LOT of weapons and technology.. and even then it's not enough.. they have to try to STEAL some more!!

  • ...and use it to terrorize Palestinians, then cry about it when they do it right back! We need to dump Israel. Terrorists with democracy are still terrorists.

  • Then they have to cause more instability by taking land.

  • @2bRealist What lands exactly is Israel trying to steal?

  • @captwasabi Nobody wanted the Jews so the UN dumped them in Palestine... I personally don't like Palestinians or anyone in the Middle East... I don't see why the US has to kiss the ass of Israel... If they really are God's chosen people then they don't need anyone's help... I say that we mind our own business and engage OUR enemies... This crap of having military bases everywhere is wasteful spending just like welfare... Republicans and Democrats are both ignorant...

  • @shartstastegood First, there has never been a State or Country known as Palestine. It simply has never existed. Second, the enemy of your enemy is your friend. The point of having bases all around the world allows the US to project it's military might at a moments notice as needed. The UN decided to make us the worlds police force but now we are calling the shots. I do agree that both Repubs and Crats are idiots.

  • @captwasabi We can project our military might at a moments notice from here in the US. When was Israel founded? 62 years ago. Who was there before the UN dumped the Jews there? Palestinians. The wetbacks deserve Texas if the Jews deserve Palestine. Just because Israel was there thousands of years ago doesn't matter now. Just like how it doesn't matter that Mexico had Texas before it was Texas. Besides. The Middle East deserves no bleeding heart rhetoric...

  • @shartstastegood RE:Palestine-You are confused. What was Palestine's borders? What was their govt structure, their flag, their monetary unit? Provide me with a single trapping of a country. The truth is that the areas the Palestinians lay claim to were part of Jordan, Egypt and Syria ergo there was no Palestine. So to use your Mexico/Texas example it would be like Canadians coming in and demanding Texas. Learn your history.

  • @shartstastegood Moron! Israel was founded 3000 years ago.

  • @ssmusic214 Who had Texas before we did? I don't see us wanting to give up what we have now just because someone else had it before us. So fuck Israel. Fuck Palestine and fuck you. I just know that Israel is only there now because the U.N. dumped the Jews there after WWII. So even though I hate Arabs I will still state the fact the land we call Israel does now belong to the Muslim bastards. What's fair is fair. Remember Texas and why we won't give it back to Mexico.

  • @shartstastegood Idiot! There never ever was such thing as "Arab Palestinian State" in recorded history. There is nobody to "give back the land" to.

  • @ssmusic214 What about Jordan and Syria? Give it back to them. They had it before the U.N. played God and dumped the Jews there.

  • @shartstastegood Jordan and Syria were created by Victorious Atlanta allies after WWI and defeat of Turkish Ottoman Empire. None of them included Palestine.

  • @ssmusic214 Why do you love Israel so much? Is it because you have read too deeply into a magic book written by a man who claimed it to be the word of God? God has nothing to do with religion. You are as bad as a Muslim when comes to your views based on blind faith. I do believe God created the universe about 13.7 billion years ago and set it free to expand and do whatever. I just don't believe in Harry Potter like religious bullshit. Get real. Israel is now a pirate nation and you know it.

  • @shartstastegood Idiot! All I posted were historic FACTS. Nothing to do with religion. Your moronic blabbing about religion is poor substitute for factual argument.

  • @ssmusic214 People that lack argument resort to insult.

  • Wow, so reading the comments. Grayson, Paul, and Sanders in the senate already have the best bills going. Shelby should just jump on board those.

  • Usually,

when many liberals speak of Richard Shelby,

they elate in mocking his slow southern drawl, and his obviously, Redneck views.

    So,

it's good to hear some crumbs being thrown his southern trailer-park ways, even by the likes of Cenk.

We rednecked, bible-thumping, gun-toting, conservatives appreciate it. Ya'll hear?

  • BobbyTiger - we meet again. Cenk sided with a republican, as he should in this case...because it one of those rare instances where a republican is being reasonable. But still you criticise? Look, i as a liberal do not hate conservatives, i disagree with many of them. I do dislike many republican policticians, I like a few like Ron Paul - butm for the most part they are corporate owned. Some democrats are, dont get me wrong. It however, sounds like you have a hatred of liberals, why?

  • Real Mature.

  • Sounds like "Freedman" was doing a little insider trading, but that's par for the course at his level !

  • god damn it this makes me want to vomit and then go commit suicide

  • Wow you watch this story and it is so obvious how corrupt our government is in certain areas.

Where the hell is this "Change We Can Believe In"? I could of sworn this new President promised us he was going to stop this type of politics?

At least this Republican senator got it right.

  • Well, put it this way... If things are as corrupt as they seem, it's going to be very difficult to maneuver politically. It sounds like the your whole system is a complete mess. I'm sure it has always been a mess, but now with the internet, research can be done with less money and it is harder to control investigative journalism video content. The citizens are going to have to rethink pretty much everything.

  • I agree, he should be doing much more, but he doesn't really have a whole lot of power. The power is in The Congress.

Obama can't just write something up and say THIS IS LAW lol.

  • Bush did.

  • Not without being a tool and quasi-violating the constitution with signing statements.

  • True. I wish Obama had Bush's balls pun not intentional. Hes so worried about his image or how his actions will be reflected upon him later. Hes fighting with his hands tied in a slugfest of a fight Bush left behind. Not to mention the other 220+ years of american fuckery.

  • I agree, he should force it through with all his might, I don't give a fuck if he gets 0 republican votes he has the MAJORITY in both houses.

If Bush can get a bill passed that blatantly violates the constitution on a mild majority in the house and a fucking minority in the senate then I'm sure Obama can get HEALTHCARE through on massive majorities in BOTH houses.

Fuck, this country is so stupid. We tried bullshit for the last 8 years, IT DIDN'T WORK. get over it and move on.

  • NOOO what about teh DaETH panlz ? Obama iz going to kill da babehz lol.

All jokes aside your right. A bit of testicular fortitude is what he needs.

  • Not just him, all politicians. He can't directly pass it, it has to get through the house and senate first....

  • Of course. But I see what hes trying to do in getting everyone on board. If it works he looks like fucking Jesus because it did ..and he got all the house and senate apostles to help. If it fails his detractors must bear in mind the majority of like minded people helped him do it- giving the impression it looked like a good idea at the time. If its passed & works after no Republican support he makes them look bad. Poltics is a jungle.

  • as i tend to claim, "The American dream turned out to be a nightmare"... before the elections, though, all we had was a politician's word and false sense of "hope". i know that sounds like shit, but everyone knows how fucked up our country is. it seems like we've been forced to cherry-pick the positives.. its hard but gotta keep the faith, somehow

  • Shelby is Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin is a SUPERIOR politician and statesman than Shelby could ever be. She is also MORE MAN than he is for Shelby wears the skirt in his family while his wife wears the pants! Shelby can't take down the Feds, only Palin can do that for Palin has the SUPREME POWER OF GOD HERSELF! When Palin becomes POTUS, she will UNLEASH the WRATH OF GOD HERSELF onto the Feds and expose the fraudulent corruption completely for all the people to see!

  • lmao wow ecwaufisxtreme. just wow

  • @ EITantaran86

XD HAHAHA!!! That ridiculous shit just might be a good Idea. He could become well known on YouTube for that silly mess. Maybe he could use that to some advantage.

  • your schtick was never funny ecwaufisxtreme, now your just getting sad

  • No Cenk, you DO let the banks regulate themselves. Its none of your damn business what the banks do, its not "the feds", its not "we the people", and its none of my business either. If they fail, I had nothing to do with it, but look how you whine and moan when "we the people" get stuck holding the bag for 700+ billion. You want to regulate something that shouldn't be forced on people in the first place. I hope your audience has a brain cell left after all the bs you feed them.

  • What the heck are you suggesting?

The banks run free? LOL after they show they cannot manage the risks. Thats what laws are for to force them to manage the risk.

It is not their business when their business threatens to take down the world. What carck are you smoking?

  • lol i'm sure he just doesn't know what the fed actually is or does. go easy on him.

  • What does the fed do then genius. Tell me. I'd love to hear your ridiculous defense of inflation to pay off debts and private businesses.

  • i have no idea what your arguing. either your very confused or very stupid.

your talking about raising inflation to pay off debts? when in theory that's exactly what the fed is doing by printing more money. if you don't think that the fed which has the power to cripple the economy by doing exactly what you're talking about needs to be regulated your a fool.

  • Why does the fed have the power to raise interest rates? Because they restrict other competing currencies out of the market. When the bean-counters at the fed ruin the currency like they have now, you will get sent to jail for creating another currency. That is called totalitarianism, you don't regulate totalitarianism, but your average run of the mill lib will always believe in regulated totalitarianism.

  • LoL...I think we already tried multiple currencies back in the 1700's. How many times do you usually fail before you figure something out.

  • Yes the banks run free you idiot. What you advocate is that everyone go down with their ship. They wouldn't be able to take down the world if they tried, they need dupes like you. You have to prove to me that they would, then maybe I'll give them my fucking money. But of course you advocate having everyone's money taken from them against their will to protect something that is unsustainable. What are you smoking?

  • I guess the banks should run free, thats freedom. No govt legislation to control their behaviour. While we are at it we should not regulate the behaviour of paedophiles either. The nasty govt trampling on the freedoms of the paedophiles.

See thats what you advocate, keeping the govt out of our lives is not a good thing. The banks cannot be trusted to handle your money, like paedophiles can't be trusted in childcare.

Think for fuck sake, bankers love money like paedophiles love children.

  • And what is the criteria for trusting the government? Its your fallback. Its like god to you, its this magnificent morality-bringer. If a bank misbehaves, I will not support it. Why is that so hard? Why do you hate personal liberty so much? Voluntary interaction is not the same as pedophilia, you moron. You hate voluntary interaction, you want the total state. People can't handle freedom, they need a divine judge. Take that shit to church.

  • abortabraham-- Propaganda is the only explanation as to why you associate regulation from our Gov't, which was established in our Constitution, to hating personal liberty.

If there were no labor laws, where would you "choose" to work? If there were no regulation on oil, where would you "choose" to get your food? I can list thousands of regulations that protect your brainwashed ass from other people. How many regulations can you list that protects you from our Gov't?

  • LOL, so if the constitution sprinkles its magical dust on some arbitrary law (or better yet, a WAR), then it must be legitimate! This is pseudo-religious garbage. Regulation raises barriers to entry causing higher prices. You don't seem to understand that. Why would I lobby against raising the barriers to entry if I was Exxon? Ever think about that? Of course not, regulation is good because it comes from "democracy", talk about brainwashed. "We the people" voted that you can't handle your money.

  • Wow..i never thought about it on that level before. By barriers, you mean more risk to investors for potential profit. However, if the market is strong enough to overcome the added risks, then someone like Richard Branson can get into the oil industry.

Using your logic we should get rid of all safety standards as it hinders entry.

Let's get rid of labor laws cause obviously we are trampling on your boss's right to employ children. If there is no risk for money laundering..I'm opening a bank.

  • abortabraham

I so disagree with your logic.

Every business that has the potential to adversely affect the public, needs to be regulated/inspected by oversight and/or laws, so they will be encouraged to practice in an ethical and safe manor.

Imagine if your utility company did not adhere to safety guidelines, and found it cheaper to just toss your electrical service cable on the ground through your child's play area, leaving exposed connections.

We all benefit from some form of regulation.

  • I wouldn't pay irresponsible people to toss electrical cables on playgrounds. But when they do toss cables on playgrounds and I'm forced to pay for it, you seem to think that that is a better scenario. Would you pay a company that puts people in danger? Apparently you do.

  • No smart guy, I am comfortable knowing that a portion of my payment and taxes are directed to, and a result of the extra steps that a company takes to satisfy safety and ethical oversight. However if those responsible for oversight become corrupt and allow a company to extend its greed by putting profit over and above ethical behaviors, then I don't blame the company. It is clearly a flawed oversight, and needs to be restructured. Of course not appointing the fox to govern the hen-house.

  • Ok then donate to a watchdog group. Why do you have to engage in theft? Why do I have to pay for your desires? You act like the government is less prone to being corrupt, against the mountains of evidence. They are THE MOST corrupt because you or I can't say "no, I won't pay your corruption". You can throw all the friendly words out there, "ethical oversight", "safety", it doesn't change the fact you believe theft is an acceptable way to reach your goals.

  • "Why do you have to engage in theft? Why do I have to pay for your desires?"

You can write to the tax department to ask that none of "your" money gets used for things you don't agree with. But guess what they just use other peoples money for it. Its called democracy, you vote, you get your leader and he does what you want with your money. Some things you won't like, but why should we remove law and order, so you can save some bucks? Your idiocy would destroy any country you applied it to.

  • So you agree with the war, you agree with 700+ billion for the rich, you agree with 50%+1 to rule the day, you agree with a ban on stem cell research, you agree with banning abortion, should I go on? You want to talk about destroying a country, as if this country still has a leg to stand on with YOUR policies. Keep trying.

  • dude yur a dip

  • As long as you dont complain when Wall Street fucks you, and they will. I don't mind people being the rich mens bitch, but I do object when they whine about it afterwards. And I mean it, you have lost the right to complain when they fuck you next time. because even without regulation, you WILL bail them out next time. You WILL. Republicans bailed them out. Democrats bailed them out. And Libertarians would have bailed them out. Why? Because they are owned by the banks. O ... W ... N ... E ...D.

  • "Rich men" wouldn't be half as powerful without the government stepping in with all the dupes' dollars to protect themselves from real consequences. All the do-gooder libs on here do is advocate that I be forced to give the government my money to "regulate". so when they inevitably screw up because no profit incentive, "(OUR) investments need to be protected" by giving them more dollars! I never wanted to participate, and now through wonderful "democracy" they'll continue to vote my money away.

  • +All the do-gooder libs on here do is advocate that I be forced to give the government my money to "regulate".+

So whats your plan? Let those who fucked up and put the whole world on thin ice, run free? Govt regulation is the ONLY way to stop them. Renmoving regulation is what they want so they can run free and do this over and over. Regulation is the only way to put a brake on their baehaviour. You don't like what they did? Then regulate them to stop them.

  • Or how about they don't get a dime of my money? I don't understand why this requires the all-encompassing state. What you want is a watchdog. Democrats want watchdogs. Pay a watchdog group to watch your investments, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to have a job during a government-caused recession. I don't like that companies act in dishonest ways, and they won't get my money. Case closed. No theft, no violence, and someone who does act honestly gets my money instead.

  • Yes a Private Watchdog firm that works for profit, that would work... ehm nope.

They would go corrupt at once.

Wait I know, if we could have elections as to who would sit in the Watchdog group every 4 years, then we could remove the corrupt ones and keep their priority towards the people instead of profit... oh Right, thats the government...

  • Comment removed

  • Find me a consumer advocacy group that has "gone corrupt at once". You are a state socialist and totalitarian ignoramus.

  • =Or how about they don't get a dime of my money?=

You are so stupid. If they all collapse the world is tanked. Remember the crash of 1929?

How about you regulate them then they don't tank like 1929 and don't need your dime to prevent thenm dragging down the world.

You can't stop them unless you STOP them by regulating them. Market forces are too dangerous, that is why we had 1929. Regulate the markets and no 1929.

LOL so why did you not stop the financial collapse with your money boycott?

  • LOL so why did you not stop the Iraq war with your money boycott? Do you realize how stupid you sound when you ask stupid rhetorical questions, as you steadfastly advocate theft? Again with your revisionism, "regulation" didn't cause 1929? What do you think credit expansion is? Artificially low interest rates of 4.5%? Am I getting too complicated for someone who hasn't studied the great depression but thinks hes an expert? Stop watching TYT before they ruin you.

  • Tax is not theft you clown.

The bailout was to prevent a global economic collapse similar to 1929. Theft? You want to stop it? make it against the law. Oh no you want it to be legel and theives to stop themselves. How does that work again?

The collapse of 1929 was brought on by short selling. Something that was brought in by the market because they liked freedom. The govt should not allow short selling under any circumstances. Due to the risk being too high.

  • If its not theft then why does it have to be done by force? Businesses and charities don't bust down your door for evading them, "clown". Your philosophy of theft is why this country is doomed. Would you pay a company that does bad things to people? You are the reason bad things happen, you promise to pay them if they achieve enough power. Short selling happened in 1929 because banks mal invested due to low interest rates creating cheap credit, all caused by your secular god, the government.

  • "The collapse of 1929 was brought on by short selling."

The collapse of 2008 was not due to short-selling. Short-selling provides liquidity and options. People would not have shorted the banks if the banks were legitimate. I.E the problems that led to their implosions were fundamental.

  • I did not state the collapse of 2008 was due to short selling.

I did state that allowing deregulation is a problem due to risk. Short selling is a case in point, most of the time its ok, but when a fiasco hits it makes things way worse. Short selling should not be allowed.

Deregulation in 1929 and 2008 caused the problems, regulation forces banks to manage risk. The conditions under which the "risky" behaviour costs us is too infrequent, it needs legislation to lock in the safeguards.

  • +LOL so why did you not stop the Iraq war with your money boycott? +

Point is I did not propose withholding money from the govt to prevent programs I did not like. You did, so why were you not successful in making the govt do as you wish?

Maybe you get your politicians to legislate to control the programs in a way that suits you?

Why is your solution you not paying any money for any govt service?

    .

  • By that logic I have a right to take your money if I feed you a school lunch. You don't need to go out and eat every night, or any night at all.

I don't believe in imposing my will on others. The fact I wish to withhold my money from the government has nothing to do with how it spends YOUR money to keep its violent and fraudulent system going. Saying I can participate in slavery is not justification for slavery.

  • i actually agree with you on that however i don't believe as you said "totalitarian regulation" can't be beneficial in at least giving some influence to those who are directly affected by a policy machine well outside the reach of even the senate.

  • Remember the crash of 1929, haha. Do you? What were you doing that night?

  • Its called history Rasha, learn it or repeat it.

I bet you repeated it at school.

  • Right, so you buy their propaganda that the world is going to fall apart if we don't pay their ransom money. Why don't you go pay the mujahideen while you're at it. You support raising the barriers to entry. You allow these bad practices to continue. Do you know how the market works? There's a thing called demand, and people respond to demand if there is money to be made. You have a demand for transparency, now why aren't transparent banks rising from the ash? Because you're stopping the fire.

  • How can transparent banks rise from the ash without regulation demanding transparency?

What you fail to understand is banks can risk everything for a long time before they hit a crunch time. This mean they out perform a tranparent bank. They buy out the transparent bank and make it a risk taker too. Then they all collapse together.

You oppose supporting the banks to stop a chain of collapses. But what will you do if bank after bank fails? Everyone withdraws money and they ALL FAIL.

  • How can they risk everything for a long time? Could it be the FDIC? Could it be that the current "regulators" didn't "do their job"? "Lets just replace the regulators!" On my dime? NO thanks. Banks are allowed to do what they do because of the government and the fiat currency. If you stopped engaging in revisionism, you would know that the bailout money was used to consolidate banks rather than "save the world". Write Goldman a letter requesting that you should be on their youtube payroll.

  • Its because regulations were watered down due to the market lobbying for reduced regulation. You wish to give them less regulation, yes that will fix it.

The bailout money propping up banks was what saved the world.

  • Thanks, I needed that quotable. "The bailout money propping up banks was what saved the world." If you just give a thief your money, they'll go away. Did they at least buy you a new pair of kneepads?

You clearly don't understand what regulation is, if you did, you would know what artificial interest rates are, bailouts are, and barriers to entry are. I would lobby for less regulation too if I could create cheap credit from fiat money caused by the government. If we had only elected Karl Marx...

  • We need to punish white collar criminals and bailout bankers the way we punish traitors and terrorists.

  • i think madoff should of got a 1-year prison sentence not at his country club prison but in the general population at Rikers island. i doubt he would have lived more than a month in prison.

  • Yes, I've always felt we shouldn't segregate our prison populations by class.

Now THAT would be a deterrent to white-collar crime!

  • They aren't segregated by class, bank robbery is a state crime and fraud is federal, different prisons for different crimes.

  • DjRareware: So are you saying that conditions in state and federal prisons are the same? We have to quit putting CEOs in Club Fed, put them in the same prison with the rough guys, and tell them not to drop the soap.

  • There are separate prisons for federal and state crimes,so obviously the conditions of the federal prison would be better due to the mostly non-violent nature of the prisoners(not as much strictness needed) compared to the state prisons.

  • Martha Stewart got put to a prsion that was more like a vacation spot with guards when she got busted in inside trading...if WE did that, we'd be in the darkest, most hardcore prisons, where you gotta fight to avoid getting gang raped.

  • just imagine madoff in rikers island being a aryan brotherhood members bitch. now that is a deterrent to white-collar crime. that would be a great warning to the rest. i think thats what we all want.

  • What a fucking mess the US government is.

  • go get 'em if its to help us America's I'm in favor I'm sick of these damn banks!~

  • Use google addblock...

  • yet the media can't seem to take their eyes off of anyone who has associated with Obama or his administration *cough* *cough* van jones

  • So what you're saying is no one is representing me, my friends, and my family? Fuck that.

  • What the hell!? How can this kind of news not make it to the network Stations. This is scary shit.

  • I'm surprised Sen. Shelby hasn't taken considerable heat from the GOP.

  • Geico needs a NEW FUCKING JINGLE!

    Ad Fail.

  • that be fucked uply sad wheres the ha bisky news lets have alan grayson yell at every1 hes ha bisky i have a better idea lets swap alan grayson and obama

  • The Fed is a banking cartel. Why the hell would a nation give a few elites give the power to manipulate the money supply? Read how the federal reserve act came into being. It was a coup by any other name.

  • no doubt, 1913 federal reserved act signed by Woodrow wilson as repayment of finance for his campaign that resulted in his election....later, this bozow realized he doomed us all

  • It could be worse. The Office of Thrift Supervision was in charge of MOST of the establishments that went under last year. The whole system where they choose their own regulators needs to be changed.

  • progressives protect central bankers, ron paul wants to end the fed, dems and progressives refuse to be part of that debate, for decades

  • Is Shelby not getting enough money from these guys? Whassup?

  • Fuck the feds

  • If in my lifetime I get to see the federal reserve dissolved and replaced by a gold standard or anarcho capitalism then I will die a happy man.

  • I`m enjoying watching Cenk more and more now that he`s keeping it real. Because, the truth should be told that there are corrupt, unscrupulous, treasonous elected officials on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE. And, there are people of integrity who are honest and working for the American people on both sides as well.

  • The Fed on the national level are the political appointees of the guys they bought and paid for in the government.. they are the same people that run the banks..we must repeal the Federal reserve act it was passed fraudulently thru congress..all these people are insiders ..it is all incestuous

  • THE FED = ANTI AMERICA

  • A much simpler solution is to support the bipartisan HR 1207 to Audit the Fed. Check it out, it's good stuff
