Technology is so advanced now that you can create a piano piece without even touching a keyboard but just by filling in notes in a music program and using options such as "staccato" or "legato". Its funny though because so many of the best hip hop producers (kanye, dr dre, just blaze, swizz beats, etc etc) have no formal musical training.

You can create great music, especially the type of music that uses samples, and not have been trained to play a keyboard at all. Listening to a sample of someone elses original idea is plenty of inspiration to form a song. Or as people call it "a beat". Its about piecing together these samples on top of a hot groove that makes him a very successful producer.
