That singer, besides being a bit of a twat..is so far up his own arse you wouldn't believe it..he is also solely responsible for the worst album Deep purple ever made..and he has recently formed a band of ex Rainbow members ( a lot to choose from ), and Ritchie's son Jurgen on guitar.,.called..Over The Rainbow. They are currently murdering old Rainbow songs on a tour of Europe.

Yorkie is right, before and after jolene turnip...DP made great albums, the one featuring him was a disaster, no coincidence.
I have to correct you..he WAS a great singer and he is NOT a nice guy, he's an arrogant self opinionated asshole...look at his interviews on youtube for proof, he blames everyone but himself for his failure in DP.
@QueenReigns Despite the interviews to which you refer, I saw JLT in concert recently and had the chance to meet him. His voice STILL sounded great & he was incredibly gracious to his fans. He took the time after the show to talk with fans, sign autographs & take pictures. This doesn't sound like an asshole to me. Sure, he is flowing with confidence, but why shouldn't he? And I disagree that Slaves and Masters is a disaster; it's a solid album, even if it deviates from classic DP.
@QueenReigns1 How well an album sells does not guarantee whether it's a good or bad album (and if you must know, S & M reached higher positions on the charts than most subsequent DP releases in the US and the UK). But in truth, I was prepared to consider your position until I came across your last comment. Such an ad hominem remark is reflective of your sophomoric temperament. Keyboardist Ken Levinsky is no longer with this lineup.........unfortunately the Korg Triton IS.(Now being played by Tom Zvonchek from Buck Darma's B. O. C.)
This is good to hear in 2008. JLT only did Hush with Purple as part of Cut Runs Deep. Hush is one song that suits ALL line-ups of DP. Just wish Mk.3 had tried it.

You may think S&M is a solid album, and to AOR fans it possibly is.
But sales tell a different story..it's possibly the worst selling DP album, which tells you what the fans thought of it.
As for JLT, we'll have agree to disagree on whether he's an asshole or not.
He certainly gives the impression that he is, from what I've seen in interviews.
BTW, have you removed your tongue from his butthole yet?

This is from the Classic rock cares tour
with Mark Hitt on Guitar..there was also a set from Mark Farner of Frand Funk and Brian Johnson and Cliff willaims of AC/DC..
