@MultiShades they did play together but mostly had separate bands since they do different music toeach other, Johnny is mostly a blues guy and Edgar a bit more funky.
wow different from the good old days but still way cool!
A little too clean and not raw like the old Edgar Winter... these guys are slick players... in the old days they were just pumping it out raw and wild it looks like the key parts are a sequenced part... he counts it off and starts it you hear keys all throughout the song but only see him actually play the spacey white noise section on his strap on!
still i dig it... sequence and all that is hard to pull off live on stage too.
I've always admired Edgar Winter's singing, piano/keys playing since I was a teenager, but I'm very disappointed that these days he usually evidently doesn't play the keys himself. I want to hear HIM play the piano/keys, not some other guy! You know? It would be just GREAT to hear him play a beautiful grand, AND sing! C'mon Edgar!
Edgar still plays the keys, but it's preprogrammed into his synth computer. Timing and pace are spot on, but I've seen them scramble when the start timing is off or some other computer glitch happens. Search for "Free Ride-Taste of Enfield" his synth failed in that song, then there was a 10 minute delay to get it reprogramed for the next song.
