I've always disliked voicing over the comments of one who's articulating his/her thoughts. It's more polite to run subtitles across the screen as he speaks and please, they are celebrities! You can see how uncomfortable Jerry and Vic are. Why aren't they provided with translators with an equal amount of attention? Jerry and Vic nary had a word in due to the language barrier.

In singapore, although english is our first language it kinda depends on individual families. Some people come from english speakin families so they are very fluent in english while some are more comfortable in speaking their 2nd language. So i'm guessin ken comes from a family that speaks mostly 2n lang.

Ken's less-than-warm manner is not an indication of maturity or confidence. It's just his way of dealing with the hype that surrounds them. I've only recently been interested in Taiwanese pop culture. I've heard of these guys but never paid them much attention. After this, I think I might give them a chance. It's funny because the spotlight is mainly on Vanness due to he fact that he knows English. The rest isn't as confident to speak during this specific interview. Ken doesn't seem warm, do you know what I mean. Jerry made me laugh when he attempted to speak in English. It's cute. Vic's laugh is just so adorable.

Actually jerry spoke more english back then. i saw an interview with a tv host in the philippines (2003) here on you tube. He spoke more english there than in this interview. He held his own pretty well. But his english is probably better now than it was back then. I think jerry is just shy here since vanness & ken speaks english fluently.
