  • So much nostalgia. ;-;

  • One game added to my list of games to be tested, one.

  • Lunar :D I never played this version, instead playing the Silver Star Story Complete version, and I was fortunate enough to play it on the PS1 years ago... I now wanna dig this gem up and play it again :D

  • Ramus sucks.

  • "Ghaleon? Not Ghaleon, dear Quark... MAGIC EMPEROR GHALEON!"

  • I hate that we don't know for sure which person composed this tune (though I believe it's Iwadare) or what its actual title might be.

  • Yay. Lunar love!

  • I love this version sooooooooooooooooo much,it`s so awesome,to bad they didn`t used it in SSS or SSSH

  • nall? D:

  • Who are the douchebags that gave this a thumb down? They should be kicked off Youtube.

  • @ScrewedUpClickFan The 13 people who disliked this where eaten by the White Dragon!

  • Comment removed

  • Man...I will never understand why the numerous remakes never used these classic tracks! STILL the best! :D

  • @draktyr Oh yeah...and where is Lunar 3, GameArts?! :(

  • @draktyr Isn't GameArts.... non-existent anymore?

  • @Twardz GameArts is still around. They're still making new Grandia games and just put out another Lunar remake on PSP. It's Working Designs, the US publisher, that went out of business.

  • Played on PS1. Was awesome.

  • @xMrDonutx is it pirated?

  • Yay! I love the Sega CD!

  • I owned the Playstation version but i had bought it used so the game always crashed at the FINAL BOSS i was so pissed. I was shitting bricks when i found out they were revamping it for PSP. I wish i could have played the sega CD version though. Definitely has some of my favorite video game music.

  • @xMrDonutx It's called GENS emulator and a rom :D

  • @xMrDonutx The Second Overworld music was kick-ass.

  • @XXXXNanoXXXxxx *coughcough*Lufia II*cough*

That's my opinion anyways. But hey if you like this music better thats fine. If I could ever get a good emulator I might try this game out.

  • @DefendinMyBase LOL!! i do know lufia 2 its a great game for the snes. What i said is that Lunar has thee greatest battle song ever. I said battle not boss songs. Lufia 2 has a great boos songs 5/5 but the battle song is not that good. Its ok. First of all these are all opinions, U ever listen to this

    copy and paste

MUSIC: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest - Heat of Battle

too many great battle songs out there

comment me back and tell me whats the best

    rpg story

    rpg song

    rpg gameplay

  • @XXXXNanoXXXxxx Well I happen to think that Lufia II's battle song is better. I know it's an opinion, and I'm stating mine while admitting your opinion counts too. Don't just guess at what people are saying. I love Lufia's boss music yes, but I was talking about the regular battle song.

  • @DefendinMyBase yea overall there both good or great. I'm a Xenogears fan by the way LOL. Too me Xenogears is thee greatest rpg ever made, best story, music gameplay everything.

  • @XXXXNanoXXXxxx I doubt I'd become an atheist after playing it but if that's what you're doing I might just pass. Calm down with the caps lock alright?

  • @DefendinMyBase lol my bad my timing is off too lol!

  • @DefendinMyBase damn man. Dont pass on Xenogears u will regret it lol! seriously. I over exaggerated on the atheist thing but it will question how u will think on life and stuff no doubt about that. This game is really good it teaches morals, ethic, so f' ing deep its unbelievable.

  • YES!!!!!!

  • This game rocks.

  • @TheAvengerBlade I wish i had the sega CD version. :(

    I have Silver Star Harmony.

  • @Tofu1104 I have this version (and the extended mix) on mp3

  • I really need to get my Sega CD from my house in Cali. I'm so wanting to have a Lunar playthrough.

  • A good for nothing JOHNNY B good.......

    is the lyric at 0:39

  • @Whyumadbrah each time i hear this song i will say that...thanks....

  • Why did they ever change this song?!

  • I have both copies of the PSX versions and I have to say they are fucking awesome

  • The 2D games released in the US by the time the n64, plaything..err playstation and Saturn came out, were like saying a big

    "Fuck You!" to Bernie Stolar.

  • Megaman like...

  • Definitely has Mega Man X written on it.

  • @Akujitsu didn't mega man x come out AFTER this game?

  • @biohacker27 I just mean the style of the melody is alot like music from mega man X

  • when any1 need psxe 1.7 and lunar silver star story and maybe lunar eternal blue 2 than tell me :D

  • The battle theme from Sega CD was almost similar to Donna Summer's "Last Dance".

  • OMG..... but slower LOL!!!!

  • freaking chills! its been years since i played this

  • Am I the only one who thinks the artstyle looks like Neon Genesis Evangelion?

  • yeah looks alike

  • sinji in the bottom right. my cousin has this game wish i knew if it was any good the music is nice though.

  • I highly recommend it. It's damn hard to find the original at this point, though.

  • i thini its hard to find even the ps1 version now.lol

  • True, but for some reason I think it got a wider release than the Sega CD version. The Playstation was a console that moved more units, so it's quite likely.

I recall reading a major advertisement in EGM where they were saying WE'RE GOING TO STOP PUBLISHING THIS GAME AND THEN YOU'LL BE OUT OF LUCK in regards to the 2 Lunar titles.

  • The Sega CD version is actually pretty cheap. Not exactly common, but ironically, I think getting a copy of Complete will cost you more.

  • Lunar Silver Start Story Complete's theme music is much different from Lunar The Silver Star.

  • true but i prefer lunar silver star story complete

  • best game ever enough said

  • This is one of those series I wish I got into. I didn't have the money/systems/games so I never did. Maybe one day, the music seems like a good enough reason.

  • I'll send you an emulator, and the game if you want :)

  • hey! can you send me the emu and the game too?

  • Buying Lunar was like purchasing a whole hive of toys - If I recall, it came with a medallion, a soundtrack, at least one poster, and maybe even another piece of literature? Lunar was huge.

    Game was epic good too.

  • Unfortunately, people didn't recognize it like they do with Final Fantasy or Mario, therefor resulting in the games being a hidden gem.

  • Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete came with 4 discs (2 game 1 OST and 1 making of, track list wasn't given at time of release) and a cheese cloth map and a hardcover manual (which I think hasn't been done before or since after Lunar 2) Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete came with: 4 discs (2 game, 1 OST, 1 making of), an Omake box that had lucia's pendant and some character token thingies and a hardcover manual. The map wasn't cheesecloth :( also pre-orders got a punching Ghaleon Puppet :D

  • I'd have to say that by playing all the versions of Lunar: Silver Star for many years, I'd have to say that the Sega CD version was the best of them all. It had more memorable music and events.

The PSX changes were a bit nice but in the end didn't sit too well with me. Maybe it's because I played the Sega version first. The only thing I liked more in the PSX version was the Lyrical Music, which was quite impressive.

Now, Lunar 2 is quite a different story and one I wish not to get into.

  • Sounds like one of the battle themes from Tales of Symphonia I think. The beginning sounds so familiar!

  • Props for using the SegaCD version!

  • Best generic RPG ever! Hahaha. (note I said generic not overall RPG)

  • What about Skies of Arcadia :P?

  • yeah but skies of arcadia had flying pirates and crap so I don't think it counts as generic.

  • I've only played the GBA version. I think this battle theme is good too but it's not the version I've heard before.

  • aww, the GBA port sucked! seruously go out and find the PS1 copy Lunar :Silver Star Story Complete, my favrite game of all time. the GBA licks balls in comparison.

  • But...but...I have no PS1/PS2/whatever. :(

  • If you head to a flea market or even a gamestop, you should be able to pick up a Ps1 for very cheap. and im curious as to why ive been downgraded so much on my previous comment. the GBA port altered the story, ommited the animated cutscenes, the intro movie, the spoken dialogue, about 50% of the original story/gameplay....it was a decent attempt with the available hardware of the GBA, but in comparison it just doesnt hold a candle.

  • Uh, now they do. But Lunar wasn't even made by Sega. It was made by Game Arts, and they DID do a good job with it. What are you smoking?

  • i'm talking graphics wise =_= the Sega version in comparison to the Playstation version

  • sega cd was realeased in 1993. where was sony? oh yeah msx. psx was only realeased in 1996 3 whole years later.... that's like comparing psx with ps2 lol

  • *cough* "Zelda: A Link To the Past" looked and sounded better than this game xD in my opinion

  • Because you're a graphics munchkin who can't handle games that don't favor eye candy over story.

  • wanna bet? -.- i keep as up to date on games as i can. only problem is a lack of mom dishin out money to buy xD

story wise i always prefer the Final Fantasy series

graphics wise, i prefer anything i can get my grubby lil hands on that has extravagant graphics

  • As it is, you're comparing two different genres of games. You're comparing Action/Adventure with RPG. That's like comparing Final Fantasy to Halo.

  • Actually the SEGA CD was released in 1991 ;)

  • in europe in 1993. i'm european, proudly ;P

  • Yeah but he was comparing Sony and SEGA hardware ;). There is like 3 years release time, so that was what I was aiming at. To show to that guy that his precious PSOne was alot newer machine wise ;).

  • Yes, but Lunar came out on Sega CD in 1993

  • that was aq remake ya idiot, when this was made there where no Saturn and PSone's. THe Saturn version is also better then this, but gee what things are you comparing a souped up dual processor 16 bit system with full fledged (for that time) next gen systems.

  • This game was hard! But a nice game, although they changed the Battle theme in the PS1 version with a crappy theme... Ugh!

    This song rocks!

  • Omg, I'm not the only one to play this, kinda surprising. This is an amazing game with great music

  • Personally, I didn't think this game was that impressive, the psx remake was much better. Lunar eternal blue on sega cd, NOW that was something. You'd be surprised on how good that one was, even while being compared to the psx remake.

  • The remake obviously had the benefit of improved gameplay and a more fleshed-out story, but the original's story, as sparse as it was, made a lot more sense than the remake's. For one, it was nice to have Luna stay in the party longer than she did in the original, but her continued presence opened up some pretty huge plot holes. Also, turning Ghaleon into a more sympathetic character instead of a dragon-murdering, village-enslaving psychopath didn't sit too well with me.

  • Ghaleon's my role model when it coems to a dark persona =D psycho Ghaelon vs. caring Ghaleon...who you think would win between the two xD

  • The Sega CD version of Lunar and Lunar 2 are better than the remakes on the Playstation and the Sega Saturn!

  • damn straight they made Alex a typical emo hero on the ps1 version with that whiny voice

  • .... ok the same damn guy played him in both.

also his voice was whinier in the sega saturn dont beleive me? look up the scene where ghaleon kills quark. He sounds like a chick.

I used to think the sega cd one was better but thats because i hadent played it since i was about 5. after replaying it i get much more feeling and character depth in the remake, well for silver star story that is.

  • and by saturn i mean sega cd lol my bad

  • i only knew of a sega cd and ps1 release but the sega cd version is IMO better

  • The remakes were originally released on the Sega Saturn in Japan, and then ported to the Playstation. The Playstation version was the one published in the US by Working Designs.

  • The fights between Bernie Stolar (then basically head of Sega of America) and Victor Ireland are legendary.

  • Stolar didn't start really messing things up until the Saturn era.

  • I didn't play the Sega CD version so I can't say but I didn't think he was an emo character.

  • Very good indeed!

I didn't know this song, and I was surprised that it uses the dominant's dominant chord. Very nice.

  • thats the classic rpg and i order it and iam gonna finish it just u wait lunar star

  • I love lunar. I bought the one for the sega cd when I was 16 and the psx version when it first came out. I LOVED the sega cd music but when I played the psx version I kinda felt like I was cheated...I kinda wanted that same feeling about that game I had when I was 17, now 30..this post brings back alot of memories.

  • I never played Silver Star, but I did play Silver Star Story Complete for the PSX. The battle music is a COMPLETELY different song, so I assume the entire soundtrack is different. I wonder how the soundtracks compare? Because, SSSC had a damn good soundtrack.

  • Seriously this was one of the best rpg's hands down. It had amazing music, storyline, and characters loved nall lol

  • I remember that game, really exciting, really good also! ^^

Always liked Nash, even with his... complicated personality ^^
