  • great song

  • think I'll call my mom

  • One of the saddest damn songs I ever heard. Great but sad.

  • No one writes a sad song like John does. Theres a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes. .......The whole town saw Jimmy on the six O'clock news...... Blood was on the side walk brains was on his shoes. He trully is under rated.....I have loved his music since 1974.

  • Beautiful music

  • A heartfelt song indeed from the GREAT John Prine!

    I love the man!

  • I try to say hello to all due to this song.

  • I listen to this song when I drive from Temple to Killeen every morning. I cry sometimes.

He's so fine there's not enough time to say it all.

  • John Prine, the original Blue Man Group! HAHAHAHA!

  • He's the best! His words are liquiod asserts to those that understand them. He IS one of my heroes!

  • just discovered this beautiful artist on elvis costello's spectacle -- wow! sheer poetry..a snapshot of life's lyrics..

  • Great great singer songwriter, we used to play his songs in the sixties

  • This was the first song i ever heard by JP about 15 yrs ago...a "stopped me in my tracks" moment that shifted my entire catalog from Clash/Police/Talking Heads of my college years to Prine/ Jerry Jeff/ Steve Earle/ Lyle Lovett/Guy Clark of my adult years

  • This song explains life a little too clearly.

  • i thought he lived in nashville too. his son goes to school here and is friends with some of the children i had in daycare many years ago.

  • Maybe the best song he's ever written, and that's saying something!

  • great artist and in my opinion very underated by the masses but thats ok some of us know you might say the lucky people see the true greatness...peace love cheers and beers.......

  • John sees and writes about things we all wish we could. God bless you John!

  • John Prine now lives in Gulfport,Florida he is my neighbor on the same street He is a wonderful person and would stop to say hi to anyone

  • Me too lol.

And I'm rough tough and gruff (well, sort of)

  • This one brings me to tears everytime!

  • I like the way he says I love you mom at hte end of the song

  • This was an incredible show! I wish I could go back and experience the whole thing over again!

  • Thanks!

  • Timeless. Each and every one of us that call ourselves "artists" should bow our heads..

  • It was perfect. The best place I have ever heard John Prine play. He just gets better. I went with two of my grown sons, that had to listen to hin when they were growing up. They appreciate and enjoy this great songwriter and singer.

  • I was at this show! This is one of my favorite songs of all time...What can I say Red Rocks is the best venue in the world, and John Prine is one of the best singer song writers ever! I drove all the way from the Santee Sioux Reservation in Nebraska 10 hour drive it was worth it too even with $4.00 gas!
