Some of these comments are so fucking retarded. The characters in Gorillaz are fictional. There is no "real" 2D, Murdoc,Russel and Noodle. They're made up so it looks like a band. Damon Albarn who was the lead singer in Blur does all the music and is 2D's singing voice and Jamie Hewlett does the animations. How is this live? They had to pre record the animation right? So in order for the animation to sync with the singing and the drumming, they had to record those first too. Then isn't it not considered live anymore!

Look at the every action of the singers, when the animation opens the mouth and when the voice actually sings, everything is synced perfectly. But if it's live, there's bound to be some off timings, but there's none. So that very likely means both the animation and the audio were prerecorded.
