Haha I had no clue what I was doing my first year of drill!!! Looking back, we had more good moments then I thought :) we lined up good for whips and stuff like that. Sad u can't see me almost fall off before the dosi do tho :/ I was just a blob
It's not mandatory, but pretty much yeah, most teams do.
Some teams have one of the riders blow the whistle (common in working 4s), some have a coach standing on the side do it (like us). Some teams prefer a lot of whistles, some only use a few. It's all a matter of preference. Some maneuvers look better with a whistle, like a sudden halt followed by a 180 or 360 turn. Other times the whistle just seems "extra."
10th :D Other NW district teams took 1st (yayy!), 9th, and a couple in between (4th, 7th? somewhere in there)
but thank you! We were pretty proud to be in the top 10, since only one other team (one of our district's) without flags placed in the top 10 :] We were afraid we were really at a disadvantage since only about three of our horse-rider combinations could go one-handed. Yay for last-minute horse changes :/ But oh well :) It was GREAT fun.
