I've heard both versions, it's " fake as hell cause mixed race gangs didn't happen" and "this is what happened in NYC back in those days.." so which one is it.. I'm not from NY so enlighten me. thanks.
@JakeMansonNYC 1970's man, different gangs had different colours and clothes, that why todays gangs suck dick because they all dress like rappers and do/speak/act the same way
@TheNorb82 I know dude - that is what is so endearing about this. you can actually learn history and gaze into other eras by watching Hollywood depictions of things in our past. This is what some yokel imagine went on in the old subways of NYC while in reality some sap in a prom getup is getting tossed into the tracks while his giorlfriend is getting raped while people look the other way.

Must see sleazy NYC trash/pop culture tour from the early 90's. Times Square and more..... Explore all the landmarks that have dissapeared. The Urban EYE part 1,2,3 on the THYRDEYE channel.
One of the major co-stars of "The Warriors" was the BMT/IND R-27/30 class of subway cars - which were the ONLY cars that appeared all through the picture, regardless of what borough they were in.
Yes that's Penn Station. And let me point out that I ride the PATH trains today, and the way the look in the film is EXACTLY the way they still look now in 2008. The PATH trains haven't changed.

Classic scene on the subway with the prom couples. With no speaking it generates tension and pity at the same time.
