I visited the dog tracks when I was about 10 or 11 years old, and have been part of a rescue group ever since. I've seen greyhounds come off the track with a missing leg, ears, and one who had to have part of his jaw removed from a racing injury. Everything's O.K. but does anybody of you guys knows what happens to those dogs when they can't do the racing anymore? I can tell you - no they do not simply abandon them or give them away- they hang them cos it's easier. Pretty sure about it !

Being in a kennel to "relax" can be a very stressful environment for some dogs and can result in many health issues.

Imagine being born to be caged up your whole life. It's just not fair ...

There is nothing wrong with racing the dogs- they love it tearing about having a fab time.

The problem is they aren't treated with the respect they deserve.

They are caged up all day in small cramped kennels waiting to run, they only get 30 seconds to run then they are put back again.

On the RSPCA children's website they have lots of things about greyhounds.I think it's called give animals a voice.

Even though the killing of these priesous animals is illegal it still happens. And it's wrong.

you do nice work. would you do a clip about the abuses greyhounds face in the racing cicuit? While there are many owners that take excelent care of their racers, there are many starved, neglected, beaten, and mass murders for the ones that do not make the grade. I have seen the damage done, I have cared for dogs broken and disposed of like trash. For all the money the racing industry makes from the dogs, very little is set aside for their retirement. They are deserving of a pension.
