This is one city i will visit... stood the nazi military machine and it was crushed by the soviet army, millions lost their life and stood, stand still and will stand still, is admirable city and people with courage,people in the US need to learn more about not only Volgograd but leningrad, present day St. Petersburg Americans has no idea what losing millions of people civilians and army on their land....just no idea.....the only recommendations is to learn and read.

I want to apologize for myself .. I am an American .. but this guy that said that statement does not hold the true feeling s of ALL Americans. That person has probably never been out of Alabama. I thought it was the Rodina statue . I think there are many "names" for it. Im sure the "Mother Homeland" is a better translation than my "Mother Russia" .. but isnt the statue suppose to be "Mother Russia" ... rallying her people to fight and secure the Volga?
